razydude Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 Does anyone know how it works i wanna get one but i wanna be sure on how it works before i do
Mooney Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 To use ARDS with a real DS game cart: 1. Put the ARDS into the DS card slot (slot-1) and boot up the DS.2. When prompted, take the ARDS out, and put in your DS game cart.3. When the AR software detects the game you inserted, choose your codes and press GO.4. If you chose the option to save codelist changes, you will be prompted to reinsert the ARDS. Once the changes are saved, you will be promted to reinsert the game card. You can add/update codes using the PC software and a USB cable. And no, it will not work with a flashcard. Also, if you have a slot-2 (GBA slot) device, hold "Select" while booting up with the AR inserted to load that slot-2 device in DS mode (Just like a PassMe/NoPass card).
Haldrie Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 I didn't know you could use the ARDS as a passme. Now I need to get a slot-2 card and try that out. I got an ARDS last month but haven't used it much since I got my R4DS.

PassMe is a device that lets you run NDS games off of a slot-2 flashcard/cart. For more info, see the links in my sig and use Google.

Haldrie Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 Also slot-2 cards came before slot-1 cards so it was the only way people could run NDS roms on their DS until slot-1 cards were finally made.
Shibathedog Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 so basically what your saying is you get an action replay, a blank gba cart, and a real DS game You put the AR in your DS, along with the GBA cart, boot and do the swapping stuff, and you can play GBA/DS games off the GBA Flash cart? Thats awesome, im so dumb for selling my DS

Haldrie Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 Only newer slot-2 cards support running NDS software. Some run them better then others.
Mooney Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 Only newer slot-2 cards support running NDS software. Some run them better then others. No, most slot-2 devices (whether it is meant for NDS or GBA) will run NDS homebrew. In fact, before I got my first M3 Perfect, I was running NDS games off of my EFA 256mbit flashcart with a PassMe v1.5.
Haldrie Posted July 15, 2007 Posted July 15, 2007 (edited) Well now that's interesting. I've never heard any report of DS roms running on older GBA carts. Then again I also haven't been looking for any news about it so that may be why. [EDIT]Oh wow I made this second set of 100 posts quick. I remember thinking before that I may never reach 100 now I'm looking at 200 . Edited July 15, 2007 by Haldrie
twiztid_clown Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 Hey Guys, So if I have an original DS cart in Slot 1, and then a slot 2 cart with a GBA game on it in slot 2. Would the DS game just register this as though the slot 2 cart was a normal GBA game? As an example: I have Pokemon Diamond (proper version) in slot 1, with Pokemon Emerald (ROM) on a slot 2 cart. Would I be able to transfer the Pokemon from Emerald to Diamond, or would this be a pipe dream? Cheers
Laos Posted July 22, 2007 Posted July 22, 2007 i got an old codebreaker for the GBA, any possibility i can use it for something other than a paperweight
