Okay so i noticed that my cell phone has a port on the back of it, exactly the same as the port on my laptop's WiFi card thats for plugging an external antenna into. So what if i buy/make a WiFi antenna, use the correct connector, and plug it into my cell phone, would i get better signal!? i was thinking of being lazy and buying this but im not sure what kind of connector is at the end (I think its the kind like how my WiFi antenna screws into my wireless PCI card on my PC, which is not the same) http://www.thinkgeek.com/computing/accessories/7060/ i could probably find something way cheaper though, or build something would this work? is that even what the port on the back of my phone is for? Ghosty Posted January 3, 2007 Share Posted January 3, 2007 Its possible, but cells and wifi uses different frequencies, and that this is made for wifi, and it is used to aim at a hotspot, so unless you know where a cell phone tower is, it wouldnt do you much good.
