MamedOX 1.5 and MAMEdOX Paltinum are different?Which is the better emulator? Is it better to wait for MAME dOX platinum?

both are the same really.....platium is slightly different in the fact it has different dats and is a hacked up version......but it has the advantage of having screenshots, roms, keymaps, cheats, samples, sorted cavis and is ready to go with most favorite games. So you dont have to much around its an all in one package. The other is just eh emulator so one is 3.2 gigs the other is 15megboth will be out in a few days

Will can I use my MAME 32 v0.104 romset with MAME dOX Platinum (obviously only supported roms,of curse) or do I need particular romset?

as with any mameox/dox/128, its based on mame v84. what you can do is grab the last mamedox thats in xbins and use its dat to see the most that will work tho i think by now his new version shoud have updated neogeo and cps1/2 roms.

platium does not need roms its all done for you, its not very customisable but its pretty much error free and ready to go now........for those that are sick of trying to set it up and work it out and want no errors everything working this is for you. Buy the way without hacks Mame is full of errors unless 100s of files are changed this is all done here for you, you can play it and all games work have art etc and are keymapped correctly so they all play like you just walked into an arcade with 700 machines.

 

if you want to pick and match and setup everything thats needed, just the new mamedox 1.5 or $HK build is needed and it will use the same dats as 1.1 for mamedOX 1.5 but have one diff dat (samshow 5 sp has a sorted rom to get sound working correctly).

Xbox Save iso to add key that are mapped correctly, Cheats, Highscores..SORTING of roms to make it easier to choose the game you wish.

 

* You can add or remove a favorite game with the WHITE BUTTON (if a game is a favorite it will be Gold in color).

* You can which between viewing all your games and viewing your favorite games buy pressing BLACK BUTTON. (you can turn off favorites games while in favorities with WHITE BUTTON still)

* You can change the sort method with the BACK BUTTON. You can sort by the name, the number of times you played the game, the type of game (eg 1v1 Fighter, Shooter, Platform etc) and the date the game was made.

* If you hold the Y button while you are going up or down to pick a rom it will fast select

eg if you are viewed by name pressing down will go A B C D.....

if you are viewed by date pressing down will go 1980 1981 1982 1983.....

if you are viewed by type pressing down will 1v1 Fighter, Driving, platform etc in alphabetical order.

 

 

Enjoy yourself although this may not be every rom this should be to most peoples tastes....pretty, easy to select the game you want, and most of your classic favorites. The Dats cant be included because it is a mixure of dats mainly.84 MAME roms but I rolled a few back to fix sound glitchs and alter many so they would play (eg mergered parent and clone games to only get the working game showing in the selector)
