  1. Hey...... don't be hard on yourself. You look fine. I try to refrain from smiling in my pics, just ask Explosive Misanthropy. I too, think I look worse. But it's not true. The fact is, I have to take alot of pics to get 1 good one. I'd upload an example of a bad pic of me.... but I would never forgive myself. And if anyone thinks I already have bad pics of me up, you have nooooo idea....

Your yet to see my nude ones, Those are scary :)

  2. I met most of the people here at A@H a long time ago. Left for good reason, as no site admin should be a self absorbed asshole who treats his users like they are beneath him.

The Adsense ban looks good on him.

I am a MOD there, Does that mean I am a biatch too?

    :)

  3. I'm happy with XP. No need for a change. "If it isn't broke, then don't fix it"

If everyone thought like this, Then we would still be useing stuff from the 60's.

All I can say is that Vista works fine, If people are not keen on the so called blaoted stuff then use Vista home basic.

I like most versions of windows I had used

    Win 3.11 was good

    Win 95 was good

    Win 98 was good

    Win ME was a POS

    Win 2000 was good

    Win XP was great

    Win Vista is great :)

  4. 640MB? I'm sitting at just under 200 on XP Pro, with Nod32, Opera, Outpost and uTorrent running. 640MB is way too high. Guess I was spoiled with resource-light Linux distros.

My friend has a legit Vista Basic he got from Dell that he's not using. I'll give it a spin and see how it goes.

Its dropped to 600mb, Its low considering there is alot of stuff running in the background (Vista stuff and software that I have installed)

If I remove Nero 7, Then it would even be less ram ram used.

My PC is not a game PC, so 600MB ram useage is nothing. I would be worried, if it was useing over a gig of ram.

  5. I would not know how much Vista is being pirated.

Since I would never use it, I'm not in a caring position.

What concerns me is that Microsoft are able to enter a person's computer for the purpose of destroying it. It is no better than being attacked by a malicious virus.

Now where did it say they are doing that? The way I understand it, is the key will be checked, if not legit the OS will stop working. It does not not mean the files on the PC will be deleted.

I can't bring myself to use Vista, legit or otherwise. It just feels too claustrophic to me. With XP I know it inside out and can do what I want without being asked ten questions first. Not to mention how bloated and cpu/ram hungry Vista is, and the software incompatibilities.

The thing that keeps asking you things is called User Account Control (UAC) this can be turned off.

If you do not want all the bells and whitles then I suggest you use Visa home basic.

I am useing Vista Ultimate and its nothing like you claim its like. If your system cannot handle Vista, then its fair to assume your PC is too old for vista..

My PC is only P4 3 gig with 1.5 ram and Vista runs fine, As of right now its useing 640mb ram and thats with NIS 2007 running in the background.

  6. i heard that all pentium 4 processors were socket 775. how can i find out wich socket mine is?

    i have pentium 4

Older P4's are socket 478, Later version are LGA 775.

If your CPU has pins on the bottom then its a 478, if there are no pins then its a 775.

  7. Use DVD Decrypter to extract all the .vob files to your hard drive. Then you can use any number of softwares to crop/edit the movie. Personally I use (and have always used ) TMPGEnc. TMPGEnc 4 Xpress would probably be the best bet, using the in-built 'Crop' filter to edit your vobs. Then re-author the DVD with TMPGEnc DVD Author, or you could maybe get away with just rebuilding the vobs adding bup/ts/ifo files with IFOEdit (freeware). Easy peasy!

I have TMPGEnc 4 Xpress and TMPGEnc DVD Author, I was trying to avoid useing more then one app to do the job.

I have IFOedit so I check that out now :banghead:
