  1. found this issue a few weeks ago.

ninja spirit has graphic issue's. try playing and you'll see on the first level. i know it's irem game but thought i'd point it out.

I altered the graphics code in the Irem drivers to boost the speed, so this would probably account for any graphics problems with those games. I've noticed quite a few issues this has caused so I'll likely use the unaltered FBA driver in the next build even though it's a lot slower.

could it be possible to have both drivers with an option to choose the driver to use when the game loads??

some irem may run better on the altered whiles others may run fine on on the un-altered?

  2. haven't really updated here... oops:

i just got another modded xbox. only a 120gig hdd but i traded it for my unused atari 2600. i don't even know it worked and they couldn't check it either but they took it anyway.

[silly joke] and, WHAT THE!...

silly fortress maximus, it's not ready to play yet!

  3. @gamez fan: i considered buying full size cabs. had many oppurtunities too. just last week also. i also used to own a full size dynamo sf2 ce arcade. i miss it but moving it around was annoying and my apartment (tranlation: flat for you europeans) was small. ironically i live in a two bedroom house now with a garage.

yes it comes to having what little pride i still have left. think it was a great idea. it's coming around nicely.

and i can bring it to barbeques. :)

  4. at this point i found something about it that will kinda look weird... the marquee will be thin. oh well, first time building an arcade. i will work with what i got.

more pix for your viewing pleasure:

it's starting to take shape!! finally... :)

  5. well, after about a year of talk actual results are happening.

at this stage i would like to thank my friend caleb. he's a handyman and i'm learning quite a bit to as why i will never become one myself. :)

sooooo... this is what i am trying to achieve:

    arcade_mock-up.jpg

this is what i have so far:

    IMG_0090.jpg

i have the top, back, and bottom cut to size too. i just haven't taken picture yet.

i have increased the bottom by 3.5" for more room and other options for later. maybe a subwoofer?? maybe a place for a rat to make a home?? i'm 6'1" so when it come down to it added height it is always appreciated. long term plan is to make a base for it so it stands at a normal arcade height. and that i can fold and put away, but that's along way off.

yes... i do have all the dims and degree's too for possibly doing another one.

when it comes to all the wiring and stuff i will be doing that with no help due to being a hvac service tech is my profession and electrical is EASY!!

idea's for the cp have changed due to discussions with sharpfork and ace9096 so i am going to change this:

    ...um, where's the pic?

anywho, they both have givin me idea's and helped me make things easier. this was discussed at the coinops forum that which i am no longer part of due to stuff like having an opinion and using the xtra's forum too.

i will update this hopefully soon with more pix and i really hope to have this completed by 2013!!

yes, 2013... i'm not made of money and these things take time. you just don't shell out projects left and right. :)

  6. @iq_132: you've been adding alot mame titles to fba lately... is it your plan to eventually bring all mame titles (within reason) over to fba?

also, i know you've been asked a zillion +1 times about miday titles and how you don't really care for mk games... but what about nba jam? :)

is Ninja Spirit already been ported to fba?? i know it's a irem game and i know you've been getting those ported. (edit: nevermind i see it is. :) )

lastly, thank you for help in arcade emulation.

  7. @ace9096: thank you, do know if there is any update per say from the mame emu side of things?

@usaidit: most of the time with coinops, i take out everything but the arcade stuff. that's my choice. i just don't know what's going on in this one. a little editing and a little tricking the emu and presto... arcade only. no rips n' stuff. but, if there isn't any real change minus the locks taken out than coinops epic r9 will continue on my xbox.

yes i have owned these games in various forms or another. i don't know if having them owned in the past is considered legit for having them this time around.

i owned and bought sf2, sf2 ce, sf2 turbo, mk1 arcade and sold it... does that mean i am legally allowed to have the roms?

also a neogeo... too samsho, samsho2, etc.. etc.

  8. well i nagged and nagged the developer of coinops for certain midway games with sound running full speed in this emu

i kept askin for a new core for these games based on mame 0.72 so i guess im to blame for this :)

wider issues regarding this situation dont interest me at all im just happy to be playin these games

and i've asked in the past too... mind you i am getting coinops 3 right now. i was hoping that bp found a way to get midway roms [actual] to run at full speed, ie mk1, mk2, nba jam, etc. but if this is just adding midway treasures than it's really not the roms being used and mame is not being used at all.

so far i see these xbe's:

    capcom vs snk 2

    guilty gear isuka

    out run 2

    pure pinball

i see some sf3 stuff but no xbe yet.

    i'm guessing these xbe's:

    MI_1.xbe

    MI_E.xbe

are these midway treasures... if that. there is a folder called classic, it has these files in them:

    file size

    --------------------------

    mk2.sr 138,480kb <--------this looks like a rip

    mk3.sr 96,248kb <--------this looks like a rip

    prage.sr 127,198kb <--------this looks like a rip

    rwt.sr 37,268kb <--------this looks like a rip

    spy2.sr 524kb <--------this looks like a rip

    stun.sr 57,922kb <--------this looks like a rip

    tcarn.sr 524kb <--------this looks like a rip

    ui.sr user interface... i think

    uibad.sr

    uimovie.sr

    uinewoff.sr

    uioff.sr

    uirace.sr

    uistun.sr

    i'll confirm when done.

i don't know it the doom2.xbe is actually a doom ripped from a xbox game or the homebrew one. i know doom has been in coinops for awhile now but i don't get it as i'm not into that game.

the xbmc stuff skin is PMIII, i don't know if this falls into share the source area. there are some dll files and a linksbrowser folder. don't know.

when it comes to locks, maybe ace can confirm if they are in it this time around. i think they were taken out due to bp has gone a different direction with coinops3. he's decided to seperate arcade & consoles. it's now "your" choice to have either or both. [ironic] :)

i'm just posting what i see so far... your choice of using coinops 3 or not.
