I never thought I'd get to see a crappy CastleVania game....
All good things must come to an end!
-
Marvel vs DC would be the best case scenario but it's not happening
Didn't they make a comic series about that years ago?
Woah! I didn't know there was someone who had that good of a memory!
-
Yep, took the words straight out of my mouth! I would have never believed it either...

Yeah, few posts here and there, but I has returned from NYC (well to be specific, 4 PM yesterday). Place is AWESOME and etc.
Good stories to tell :3 Mag and axl know some stuff cuz they ma niggas.
Welcome back, K'da...errr...Wizard!
How was the Statue of Liberty?

My thoughts are that I don't care. They're just going to tell us in two days, I'm not going to try to decipher hidden cryptic messages. It's amazing that people find stuff like this, though. Who out there actually searched through the code for a second picture?
It's called viral marketing and Blizzard is obviously quite successful at it since there are fans out there that devote THIS much time to deciphering such clues even though the answers are coming out very soon!

the block button. just let me push back to block damnit.
The guard button never hurt the Virtua Fighter series.
-
I haven't played T6 but I don't think tekken and virtua fighter can really be compared. it's like comparing WWE to Olympic wrestling. one thing I've always liked about tekken is the control system though. it just makes sense to have a limb assigned to a single button.
No, that isn't quite true; those two games have more similarities than WWE does to Olympic wrestling! First of all they are both 3D fighters, secondly they both started their series in the early '90s and finally they both have almost the same number of buttons. Both game series are also considered by far the most popular 3D fighting series in the genre.
Yes, that is a common strength pointed out by Tekken fans but Virtua Fighter fanboys also like to point out it doesn't make sense to have auto-block in a fighting game.

I hear so many arguments online, whish there was a side by side comparison between VF5 and T6.
Wait till BK get a PS3
...even then we have no idea when Tekken 6 will be coming to the PS3! I googled for the release date of the PS3 version of Tekken 6 and I got everything from the last day of this year to late February!
-
The character textures in Tekken 6 are about even with VF5's (the 360 port, not the arcade version), but VF5's modeling is far and away better. T6's characters have more jaggies, more aliasing and, especially the characters with more bare skin in their costumes, look significantly less lifelike than those in VF5.
Also, if those PS3 fanboys are talking up those water effects, tell them to have a look at the GoW2 Unreal Engine 3 effects on the 360. That is what water should be like, especially in a fighting game like Tekken 6 where 75% of the product is Tekken 5 and the rest is tweaks and new technology. More effort can and should have been spent on things like this.
Yes, I agree with you on the character models there especially on the character select screen.
Those PS3 fanboys will probably point out how water effects that will be used for a game to be released late this year should not be compared with the water effects in a game that was released last year though.

We don't have Tekken.net here at all. The machines around here are paired 32" 720p cabs with massive stereo speakers on each side. Which is still pretty badass.
On the topic of graphics, it's good, but could have been a lot better. The geometry is really rough- just look at those stage collapses to see that point. Also water effects are very basic and character texturing isn't so fab either. It really looks like they wrapped higher-res skins around slightly higher poly T5 models and called it even. Animation is nice, for the most part but sometimes it just becomes obvious that the old rigging is still being used.
And thanks for the Nancy vids too.
Ah! I see; I've only seen those in photographs so yes, those are truly awesome! I on the other hand can only dream of such Tekken 6 cabinets because my arcade's two Tekken 6 machines are only housed in those cheap Versus City cabinets.
I don't know about how poor the stage collapses really are since the only other 3D fighting series I know of that even had stage collapses was the Dead or Alive series. How do the stage collapses compare to the stage collapses in the DoA series?
The funniest part is those PS3 fanboys keep ranting about how awesome those "water effects" are!
Octave Engine in Tekken 6 makes waves
Character texturing? Do you think the character models and textures used for Virtua Fighter 5 are better?
-
Yeh you should come back again- all the DR machines at the arcade we went to have been replaced by badass HD T6 cabs.
WOAH! Do you mean the deluxe cabinet, that features four 32" inch monitors with 720p output, and run arcade operators a cool 4.48 million yen or about $42,000 US and that also includes a live monitor at 42" for viewing TEKKEN-net matches?

The last game I played was Tekken 6 and it was at my local arcade again. I enjoyed it.

For some reason this game does not interest me at all. Hope it is an awesome game though. Been dieing to play a newish decent fighting game besides VF5.
I've lightened up on the whole Tekken 6 thing. Been playing it every week and its really not that bad. I don't like what they've done to Bruce- his new Muay Thai 'stance' mixups are a waste of time- but Feng and Dragunov (my other 2) got some nice new toys.
The graphics are still disappointing, but it really could have been worse. The hit effects and SFX are awesome though. Finally I can beat Azazel... now just working on that massive robot creep. Got her down to 10% once.
Not that its a convenient game to go and play atm, but look forward to the PS3 release of it.
Yes, I don't think Tekken 6 is that bad either! The funny thing is that it's also the most played arcade game in Japan right now too!
Why? How could Tekken 6's graphics have been better? You're having problems with Nancy MIS47J? I have checked Tekken Zaibatsu and a couple of veterans there recommend:
just SS and spam U/F+n,4Need a video of someone beating Nancy? I got at least one for you and it's my favourite character Kazuya too!
http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=sDNJvGA5ito&...feature=related
Did you want a longer video showing many characters beat Nancy straight from the Japanese Tekken 6 professionals themselves? You got it!
-
Nice! Whom did you use to beat Azazel? What was the ending like?
Bruce. His hop kick launcher comes out fast enough to beat out most of Azazel's moves... so just whored out his juggles.
There was no ending though... there were credits and a Time Attack ranking but that's all. Figure the CGI will come with the PS3 port.
Thanks for the answer! I DID seem to remember watching a YouTube video of someone kneeing Azazel although it was with Raven...

But seeing how SSS didn't get alot of attention, such as being passed up at this year's Tougeki (very big deal in fighting games, considering the amount of hype SSS has gotten), leads me to believe it didn't exactly fail, but it didn't meet expectations as predicted.
Tougeki felt even a less popular game like Hokuto no Ken and even a brand new game like Arcana Heart 2 made it into this year's competition.
Why do you think SSS didn't exactly fail when Tougeki passed it by?

Remind of a story from Clive Barker, where the girls impregnated themselves to get the seed for the battle of good vs evil......
Was that ever made into a movie?

Microsoft's McCormack provided some data on where most of the password stealer detections occurred. Not surprisingly, China was the top country, with 529,003 detections.
Security experts say Chinese games are frequently the target of these attacks. Rounding out the top five countries for detections were Taiwan with 279,428, Spain with 235,381, the U.S. with 213,374 and Korea with 184,306.
Does this mean the best hackers in the world are Chinese or that Chinese gamers are more careless than American ones? Does this mean Chinese gamers use more cracked software than people in other countries?
-
The Incredible Hulk; yes, it is THIS year's version. I found it to be more interesting than Ang Lee's version because it seemed to have more action and it also had a surprise ending at the credits.

come on girls.... homeless dudes. aren't the boys at your school better then that?
I think the girls were thinking of their male classmates; this way none of their male classmates will get expelled because they'll all blame it on that homeless guy!

I noticed there was a topic about how to change it so that we can play using a joypad rather than the keyboard in nullDC. The problem is I want to use the keyboard but I want to change the keys to some other keys on my keyboard.
How do I change the controls in nullDC to something else?

Blade of the Immortal looks good but everything else doesn't look that interesting from some of those screen shots
Woah! You've never heard of Slayers, Slayers Next or Slayers Try?

I don't know about that one; haven't there been some truly awful crossovers in the past?
