  1. You can take pictures while in mugen by pressing F12.

    Are there any text documents in the chars folder?

    Look in the Char folder and open up a few of the character's folders. Look for a.def file in these folders. Use notepad or wordpad to open it.

    Tell me the author names of a few different characters.

    It should look like this

    ; Player information

    [info]

    name = "Anakaris" ;Name of character

    displayname = "Anakaris" ;Name of character to display

    versiondate = 04,14,2001 ;Version date of character

    mugenversion = 04,14,2001 ;Version of M.U.G.E.N character works on

    author = "The Dreamslayer" ;Character author name

    pal.defaults = 6,3,4,2 ;Default palettes in order of preference

    ; Files for the player

    [Files]

    cmd = anakaris.cmd ;Command set

    cns = anakaris.cns ;Constants

    st = anakaris.cns ;States

    stcommon = common1.cns ;Common states

    sprite = anakaris.sff ;Sprite

    anim = anakaris.air ;Animation

    sound = anakaris.snd ;Sound

    pal1 = 1.act ;Palettes (can have up to 12)

    pal2 = 2.act

    pal3 = 3.act

    pal4 = 4.act

    pal5 = 5.act

    pal6 = 6.act

    Except the character name and author name should be different.

    I think someone stole a bunch of characters from different creators and released it in one package.

    But some can make a lot of high quality characters fast in mugen at times so I hope I am wrong and it is a game a group of creators worked togehter on.

    Give me about 4 or 5 author names if you can please. :D

    Permission: Didn't say I can nor I cannot...

    If it is chinese how would you know? Seriously did you find this off a website? If you did please post the website instead.

    It is not pollite to direct link to others. They may have to pay for there bandwidth.

    Here are reasons direct linking is bad, quoted from Winane off MFG

    -Most free web hosts rely on advertising to provide the revenue needed to provide their hosting service (and a few people who actually own their own servers rely on advertising to pay for all that's needed to keep that online).  Direct-linking completely bypasses those advertisements.  So many web hosts will shut down sites if they detect that people are direct-linking to a site's files too much.

    -Some people like to keep track of how many people visit their site.  Direct-linking to files bypasses their hit counters.  And usually those hit counters are only on the main page of the site, so direct-linking to other pages on the site also bypasses the hit counter.

    -Direct-linking without permission is generally considered quite rude and disrespectful on the internet.  So many people will simply remove files from their site if they find out that people have been direct-linking to them, whether or not the first two reasons above are applicable.

    (One particular case in point, in case anyone isn't convinced:  Tin.)

    And of course this all applies to images as well as archives and other files.

    For now I will remove the link but once I see the creator names and know that these are not stolen you can repost the link but this time to the creator's homepage.

    Or if you can PM me the homepage so I can maybe get info from there too.

  2. Explain more about this. What is it? Who made it? Do you have permission to direct link to this? If it is off your server and made by someone else did you get permission to host it?

    I was going to check these all for myself but I do not intend on downloading a 150MB file to check the readme.

    If anyone has info on this let me know because the size seems very very suspicious.

  3. www.geocities.com/chankastfe

    A new front end to Chankast that will allow full screen and a few more features.

            Chankast Front-End 2 (by RTX Tech Studios)

                   ========================================

           This is a basic Front-End 2 for Chankast Dreamcast Emulator.

    You could use Chankast Front-End 2 with the original "Chankast Alpha v0.2a" or "Chankast

    Alpha v0.2a Old GFX"or the "Chankast Utilities Version" created by ' 1Emulation '. My CHankast

    Front-End 2 adds a few utilities that are not implemented by any version of Chankast.

    The Features that are unique from my Chankast Front-End 2 are marked with a [*].

        FEATURES OF CHANKAST FRONT-END 2

        ------------------------------

        1) Change the DC region: EURO-PAL, JAP-NTSC, US-NTSC

        2) Launch the VMS Browser created by ElSemi.

    [*] 3) ---( Maximized View )----- - Now you can run your games in Maximized

        Window Mode. (You may notice that the menus are in normal view but the games run in maximized view.

    [*] 4) ---( Avi Record )----- - You can save video clips of your favorite game plays in

        (320 x 240) Avi or (640 x 480) Avi.

       -- Also I implemented a Snapshot Feature but it has a few bugs so I decided to *disable it* but anyway,

          the version patched by 1Emulation already has this feature.

    EDIT: @GAMECOP maybe we can offer to host this for them so they can get off geosh1t1es? Or I could try to contact them to host on my server but it would make more sense to host on this one since the Utilities are already here and they appear to like them.

    EDIT2:I have this uploaded right now but will not post the link since I do not have permission to host this.

    If someone cannot access the site and wants to try this you can create a topic in the request section and I will give the staff a link so we can fullfill it.

    There is more info in the readme than on there webpage so I do not think they would mind people not accessing there site to get this under the circumstances.

  4. ;Insert your characters below.

    kfm, stages/kfm.def

    ryu

    ken

    terry

    andy

    ;-----------------------

    [ExtraStages]

    ;Put extra stages here. They will be available in VS and Watch modes.

    ;For example, you can insert "stages/mybg.def".

    stages/ryustage.def

    Also does anyone know why i can't access the elecbyte site i swear everyone's link is useless it just won't load in my computer

    Ever since a donator leaked a beta to WinMugen that Elecbyte had given them, Electbyte's site has been dead :-D

  6. The same thing was hapening to me so I put this in the mugen.cfg and it stopped it.

    [Video]

    ;Enter the width and height of the resolution you want to set here.

    ;The optimal resolution is 320x240, but if your video card has problems

    ;You may want to try 640x480.

    Width = 320

    Height = 240

    ...

    DoubleRes = 4

    I am assuming you have been trying to start it in 640x480?

    If it is the same problem I had you will still get full screen like this and not the little box.

    Or you could partition.

    Since my sound is still a bit messed up even with VDMsound in XP I use ME to play mugen. Or go to my linux partition.

  7. And also, I can't remember who said it, but I was never expecting it to be good. I'm not disappointed, just fed up with the laziness of Capcom lately.
    After 3 (4?) years of absence from making new fighters this is lazy?

    Now on your behalf I too would think that after all these years they could pull a little something more original out but in a dying age of 2d fighters (especially capcom ones) I take them as I can get them. =P

  8. So there is a way to remove the bg. Due tell if you know ^_^

    Yeah there is... manually... :(

    Surely no methods like Kawaks has.

    http://www.uoguelph.ca/~jnowak/images/tutorial.htm

    Above is a tutorial, and instead of using snapit use this

    http://www.gmdsoft.de/menne/z3c/animget.htm

    Here are the resolutions you need to capture from

    SF3 MVC2 Size 768X448

    CVS2 Size 640X480

    After you capture from these resolutions you pixel resize them by half.

    Then begin cleaning, replacing colors, etc. etc.

  9. IF you've figured out how to rip from SSV, it would be really helpful.

    There is no debug options or character test so you have to do it the same way you would rip from capcom games.

    Except it is easier to rip from SSV since it has 1 layer per character.

    Simply disable everything but whom you wish to rip, if you have an animation that moves it's axis you can use the shadow to pinpoint where the axis should be if you are wanting it perfect. Or use artmoney, that will give you a perfect axis as well.

  10. Here are all the sprites for the Radiant Arrow super move that I made.

    I was too lazy to turn it into a gif so if someone else wants to go right ahead :lol:

    _RadiantArrowSprites.png

    Here is where the idea came from, BBH posted this image asking it to be turned into an animation for his Lilith Mugen character.
