  1. Ok tux, thanks a lot, the options are working perfect now, sengoku 2 now is 60fps all time Great work! About the GUI, i love the one from DOS and early windows version, is amazing, from the old good times, genecyst, neoragex, zsnes... ahh... i miss
  2. I just test the new DOS version, and at least in my celeron 366mhz, the speed is perfect, thanks! it seems at least 44khz is not overkill for the good celeron Oh cool! thanks, i preffer command line or edit cfg than UI anyways for options Anyways, i tried the option you say disable_irq1 = 1 in neocd section, but nothing happen, raster still there, and when i quit raine, the line dissapear from raine.cfg I tried to add in games.cfg under sengoku2 section, but no effect
  3. Tux, thanks for new version! One idea, maybe is possible to add a item in video or gameoption, to disable neogeo rasters? a per game option For example, rasters in Sengoku 2, slowdown the game a lot in slow machines. But rasters effects are not necessary to play the game at all, like in tother games Thanks!
  4. Small update, because a bug in custom borders, now are working ok
  5. Hi, some time ago, i was playing Race in my PSP when I realize, that the emulator have a great GUI, but a horrible emulation It was terrible, slow, a incredible strong bilinear.. well, anyways, I decide to keep the gui, and rewrite most of the emulator code Here is my Race version for PSP This is the main characteristics of the emulator - Most games work at perfect speed. Some NeoGeo pocket games are 30hz, and other works at 60hz, native refresh is emulated to properly emulation - Internal database for native refresh - Scaling 2x without bilinear, fullscreen, etc - Option for screen adjustment in case of 2x bilinear (NGP have a resolution of 160x152, the PSP of 160x136) Original NGP 2x (160x152 = 320x304) Scaling 2x in PSP (160x136 = 320x272) Normally the 16 lost pixels are not a big problem, but in case a game miss some important stuff, like power bar, is possible to adjust position For example KOF R2 In this case, with a simple 2x scaling, we lost the power bar In this case, a adjustment of 4px, will show the power and life bar, without any loss in gameplay About hz, here is my internal database about it, - Normally 30hz is the common refresh, and center view is perfecto for a 2x, but this games need some adjustment This games need a perfect 30hz VSYNC
  6. Hi greetings, This is my port of SMSPlus to PSP One day I was playing the original emulator in my PSP, when i realize it was too old, the compatibility soooo low, and all videos mode have a big horrible bilinear filtering. But the GUI was amazing jaja Then i decide to port smsplus from scratch, with a more recent build. I based the port in the Smsplus GX from Gamecube, and the gui is the original one This is the main characteristics of the emulator - Full speed on MS and GG - New video modes for MS and GG - Position menu for gameGear in 2x mode (160x136 - Miss 8 pixels) - Save options per game - Support of PNG frames - Full framebuffer for GG - Correct support for PAL games - Korean mapper - MSX mapper (Zemina penguin adventure works!!!) - Codemaster Mapper (and correct support of 256x240) - Paddle support - Correct bios initialization (for some games need it Shadow Dancer, Ecco GG, etc ) - Master System region switch (export-domestic) - SG-1000/Othello Multivision proper emulation (now castle and Q-bert are fully playable) - Savestates are full working (not like in original version) New video modes are MASTER SYSTEM A - 1x (256x192) B - 2x Horizontal 1x Vertical - NO bilinear (480x192) - horizontal from 256>240 C - 1.5x Horizontal 1x Vertical bilinear (384x192) GAME GEAR A - 2x (320x272) cuts vertical image from 144 a 136 - Menu for image position available B - 1x Full Framebuffer - 160x144 to 256x192 C - 4:3 Bilinear Example of GameGear 2x (160x136x2 = 320x272) Example of Master system 1:1 mode with PNG borders SG-1000 game, the Castle, 1:1 original rsolution DOWNLOAD http://akihabara-online.com/Main/Emula/Psp/SMSplus.zip
  7. Ok, here is what is supposed to be the final dos build, I have tested it in dosbox and everything seems fine AFAIK : http://raine.1emulation.com/archive/rained-0.64.7.7z So the changes are : seal initializes the mixer to max volume and I have restored a very old setting "use emulated ym3812", you can now find it in the sound options dialog and it's saved if you change it. Until now raine has always used an emulated ym3812, except in the very old days. The reason being that even when I continued the development starting from 2000, I hadn't any hardware ym3812 so I could never test this setting. If you uncheck the box and so you say you don't want to use an emulated ym3812, it will try to use a hardware one, I guess you are the kind of person to still own a soundcard which has the real hardware chip ! Test this with bublbobl for example. If you happen to set this to use the hardware chip and it can't find it or can't use it, then you'll simply hear no music at all when starting the game (when really starting the game after inserting a coin, the few notes when starting the game emulation do not count here). Tell me if you succeed to use this hardware emulation, I was never able to on my side ! I don't think I'll restore the setting to the non dos versions, it's very unlikely to have this hardware chip nowdays and people would probably not understand why it produces silence on some games ! Of course the advantage of using this setting if you really have the chip is that you'll get super fast sound processing, plus this will be the real thing, not an emulation ! Hi! ohhh thankssss!! great build!!! Ok, here are my tests, with neogeo, CPS1/2 and buuble booble game - Neogeo and CPS1/2 games, work great whitout emulated ym3812 on AWE64 and SB16 - Bubble with real ym3812 dont have any music, even on SB16, i need to select emulated one Neogeo/CPS games with emulated ym3812 are still playable but slower, and sound crack here and there. Not too bad, but much better using real opl The funny thing is that the AWE64 *dont* have a any real yamaha, is emulation the yamaha with the wavetable board, but is a hardware emulation Is amazing works with raine! in other emulators, like no$ ones, it seems they use the yamaha directly, and they hang or not have any music with AWE64 if i select direct hardware, since of curse, they dont find any yamaha chip I love the option to use real hardware! One thing i realize, is that the emulator, I dont know if just dont save the option, or reset to 22khz, but even if select 44khz, if I go to sound menu, it revert to 22khz, but i *believe* the games are still using 44khz Not a big problem at all to be true... Oh, one more thing, this IS NOT A PROBLEM, just for the record. I was playing bubble booble, and i wanna use 256x224@59hz I make the resolution with Unirefresh, but raine refuse to use custom 256x224 in vesa2+ modes. Finally i made a 256x232 resolution, and this work great (maybe raine have a internal vesa resolution database?) Nice to pay in original resolution and original hz!!! I just need to atach a scanline generator to VGA out, but for now, is ok No no I don't do os wars, if people are happy with windows it's fine for me, it's just that I want to remain free to do what I want, and they are also free to do what they want, force no one ! you look like a great guy to talk about technical stuff, sad not many like you over there! jaja
  8. Oh!! Neartdenthal technology, I love that one! i have in my NT box login! is a true classic joke from late 90s My favorite ever is this one - Window hangs again! - Kids, help dad to press CTRL-ALT-DEL if one day we have free time, we can open a OS war thread
  9. Hi! mm... systemd, yes I know a little, the other day some friends was talking about this, i had no idea of what they were talking jaja, finally they say "do one thing, and do well" and I understand why they was complaining.. jaja Is very fun, every 3 month, i meet this guys because of work, all of them are "linux guys" specially one guy, is very radical about not using no free software.... and im the only one that use windows Sometimes i say "baa.. windows is better" jaja, and they change from normal human, to some kind of neardenthal Ok back to raine, I just tested bubble bobble, and i played for 10minutes, no problems at all, of course, i did not play much, just a couple of levels. The speed is perfect Thanks!
  10. luixvayo argentinan? yo tambien che... jaja, OK in english, i say "mee too"
  11. Hi! thanks! you are welcome to barcelona any time! i live 6 months/year in Barcelona Ok, here is the news Raine.exe 0.64.7 ... works!! ohhhh!!! neogeo without any sound problems!! Like you say mixer is very low, and only sound blaster works, NO AWE32, i think thats mean, only 8bits audio, no 16bits If i select AWE32, is like SB16, i get a horrible noise, nothing else, but games work raine517.exe this build have sound, but with the sound problem You work is great!! the raine 0.64.7 only need proper SB16 sound, and i think can be a definitive build. Anyways, i will test more, i just test with CPS1, CPS2 and neogeo games About hardware, im a big fan of noiseless computers too, i have a small collection of computers from 80s/90s, C64, Spectrum, Amiga 500/1200, ZX, and japaneses ones, PC88, PC98, x68k... good machines In my house all computers are fanless, even the Pentium 4, dont have any fan, just a big piece of aluminium and no hard disk anymore, in the P4, a SSD, and in Celeron 366 a 32GB CF card mmm... linux... i like the kernel, I really dont like much all the graphical system. I like fvwm2 but most apps are or gtk or kde, very bloated I worked in UltraSparc Workstation back in 90s, using SunOS 4.x, and i really love sunos and the new child, solaris. CDE is "the" GUI I was doing some jobs in late 90s for a company called Amadeus, because some airlines/travel agencies was migrating the software from OS/2 3.x and Warp (i really love the ibm os) to NT4, when i developed a new love.... the NT based systems Since lates 90s, my main OS is any kind of NT based windows, until XP x64 that im using now Oh man, better to stop talking, too much memories from past jaja
  12. Now im in barcelona, and here is hot today, but yesterday was much worst. But anyways, not very different from last year I was living in Egipt in 2009, and after that, i dont feel the hot anymore jaja 2007? this is too new, even my main desktop PC is older, is a USFF Dell from 2005, Pentium 4 3.4ghz I just installed XP x64 last year because I add 4gb of ram (is cheap now), and thats all, for next 4 or 5 years I will not think in upgrade. When i bought this Dell in 2009, was to upgrade my Pentium3.. jaja, i use the P3 until 2009 I have a small collection of old PC hardware, I keep at least one card of each brand, like Creative, GUS, Turtle beach in audio, Tseng, S3, CL, Trident in video, etc and CPU+motherboard from XT to Pentium II About laptop, i have maybe 30?¿ 40? i need to check the warehouse, from XT to Pentium 1 mmx. Specially i like toshiba ones. I always have this on the table for test DOS stuff.. 486DX50 to Pentium 200mmx Greetings
  13. Hi tux! Sadly no sound at all If i load a neogeo game, i get a "Z80 error" thats all I tried with 4 sound cards 1 - Sound Blaster AWE64 ISA 2 - Sound Blaster Pro 2 3 - Sound Blaster 16 ISA no pnp 4 - SB16 compatible yamaha I reset the PC several times, erase raine.cfg, etc etc, but after load a rom, raine change to "no sound card" Just in case i tested in my laptop too, is a Pentium 200mmx with a SBpro clone, and same problem Sorry, thanks for all
  14. Tux, sorry, yes of course, i want your test builds, and i want to do in right way, and help you (if i can) to find the sound problem I just like dos, and enjoy working in my old computer.... and i love plain edit from dos! jeje, no need to copy paste, just edit Anyways, finally i succeded!!! I had to change some (a lot) C files, they have some calls to SDL functions, and other stuff that give me error, but now i have a working 0.51.0 raine.exe using djgpp in real dos.. I tested and works good, at least seems nothing broken... Now is time to compile 0.6 and test, but sadly tomorrow i have a lot of work... hope i can work a little at least Greetings, thanks for help
  15. awwww tux, i almost... almost...compile... ahhh jaja But it seems that my problem is compile the ASM code... well, tomorrow I will try more, but this days sadly I had too much work, and i can play in computer just half hour Alchemist, thanks, dont worry, everything is ok, maybe my browser is a little old, and some stuff dont work well
  16. Hi!! Oh man, yesterday i write a long post, i dont know what happen, but i was sure i click the "post button" jeje I compile your allegro 4.2.2 without problems, zlib and libpng too. I have a working nasm and other libraries Now i start with Raine (the important thing jaja) and my first problem was..... "long names" !! oh! a lot of long names! thats a big big problem in dos Well, finally with the help os DOSLFN i solve the problem (but anyways, if one day i finally compile raine, i will make a proper 8+3 version) My next problem, is i cant compile the ASM cores, i have a -1 error no idea (If i go to the folder, i can do "nasm s68000.asm" and no errors) Any advice? Thanks!!
  17. Hi Tux, im so sorry for the delay, i was out for work I just test the build "text 3" but sadly same sound problems, im sorry I tried to build Raine with djgpp in DOS, to test myself, but very difficult without a doc about what version of allegro, libraries, etc do you have one? Thanks for your hard work Thanks!
  18. Oh! djgpp, no problem, i will install in DOS Ok, i test the "test2" raine, and this work perfect, no sound problem at all. Is a 7mb exe, instead of 1.5mb of original 0.51 I check the fps with F11, and everything similar to original 0.51 Yes sadly not much DOS users anymore Thanks for all
  19. Hi! i feel like a idiot! i did not see the option to change theme jaja believe me i was looking for the option in profile settings! With IP.Board everything works well now, thanks for help! and much faster too, the main theme is so slow in my laptop (Pentium 3 650mhz)
  20. Hi! sorry, i cant test, everytime i want to load a rom, this build of raine crash, i delete the config just in case, but same problem I was thinking to try to build Raine myself, because I feel bad you only do all work. I will download a clean install of mingw tonight and try Thanks for all
  21. Hi!! greetings Sorry my english, i register because raine forum I dont know if is the right place to ask, i did not found any "problems with forum" place to ask Is impossible to post from Palemoon 25.5 (64bits), i need to change to IE8 to post, very annoying. Every time i finish writing, and need to push the button to send reply, nothing happen, if i want to change to Full Editor, i get a script error My OS is XP x64, and latest Palemoon for my OS. Same error in my desktop and laptop, in laptop I use XP x32, same palemoon except is 32bits build Greetings
  22. Ok, Final Fight, exactly same place In 0.51 Misc: 0% CPU:11-14% Sound: 12-16% Draw: 22-28% Blit: 14-16% PAL: 25-33% Free: 0% In 0.64 Misc: 0% CPU:9-14% Sound: 10-14% Draw: 18-25% Blit: 14-16% PAL: 22-27% Free: 0% I get even better numbers in 0.64 !!! ?¿¿?? but believe me, the sound in 0.64 have a lot of distortion, in 0.51 is very clean Thanks for all, and sorry for trouble, whatever other test you need, im here
  23. Tux, im so sorry the delay, real life work, i was traveling I just came home 20 min ago, and now im in front of the Celeron jeje (i was in the airplane thinking in raine jaja) Ok, i have 0.51.0 and 0.64 in the celeron, i tested both version 0.64 still slower, and the sound is bad, sorry I tested final fight In 0.51 using vesa3, i get solid 60fps with sound or without sound In 0.64 using vesa3, with sound 55-60fps, without sound 60fps The sound slowdown a lot in 0.64, but not in 0.51 ?¿ I tested in 0.64 11khz, 22khz, 44khz, same result Any more testings? i dont know if is possible to do a benchmark in raine, or something like this Greetings
  24. Hi! thanks again for fast and great reply! What version are you using? 0.51.0 have sound, 0.51.8 dont have sound, this build was never working with sound in any of my DOS computers (5x86, Pentium 1 and P2) 0.51.0 is the last one that for my in DOS with sound About the problem, after many test, i think I found where the problem is. Simple... 0.63 is much slower than 0.51, and my celeron cant do 60fps When fps drop from 60, the sound get crackling and never stop, even if fps get 60 again In 0.51 I always have fullspeed (60fps) even with big CPS2 games, in 0.63 even games like Final Fight are not fullspeed (54-60fps) I test different thing, i build a Pentium 100, 64mb ram, S3 Virge, and test 0.51, and Street fighter Alpha. I know this P1 will not do 60fps, but i wanna test if 0.51 do same problem of 0.63, but no, even if is slow, sound get correct... My conclusion, is that 0.51 even if some framedrop or slowdown (in case no autoframeskip), the sound is correct, and 0.63, beside being slower than 0.51, have a problem in sound, that if slowdown or framedrop, the sound get bad Maybe the sound buffer in 0.63 is too small?¿ About your question, yes, i can do vesa 1,2 and 3 with the riva TNT, even custom modes, like 304x224 60hz for neogeo, or 384x224 for CPS1, but no, i dont see any improvement from VGA to any vesa modes in 320x240 or less Sorry my bad english, i hope you can understand what i wanna explain
  25. Hi! Im a big fan of emulation, for me is same to play in emulator or console, but about computers, is not the same. A CPS1, neogeo or megadrive, there was built (almost) just for play games, instead a computer There is a lot of things that are lost in emulation, configurations, hardware (+hardware problems), operating system, etc.. you know.... Oh yes, of course i miss the command line... and Norton Commander, and Xtree Gold, and win3x.. and desqviewX.... and BeOS, OS/2, QNX, and... etc etc all the old days x86 things... (and amiga, and amstrad... and.. jeje) About General Midi, of course I have the real thing connected to the Celeron PC a SC-88ST and a MT-32, plus a AWE64 and a GUS Well, back to Raine, thanks for answer, if one day you find the probem in DOS build, here a happy guy to test!! jaja For now i will keep 0.51 for CPS1 & CPS2 and mame for neogeo, but believe me, using raine for all, will be the best jeje, i really love the GUI Thanks for all
