  1. Hopefully you find someone to do animations, a sexy new theme would be luvly! skinning options would be cool though, bit of personalization is always a nice option to have. I have a request if it's viable to implement... can I tell coinops where my xbox games are from the menu? i've had a bunch of trouble mucking around with pointer files and all that, I still can't launch xbox games from coinops... it isn't very user friendly as it is.
  2. I'm pretty sure one option is to use xselect with xselect you can assign different apps for each botton on your controller which you hold down when booting. but i'm sure you can also have a default app which will launch without touching a button. what you do is rename the xselect xbe to evox.xbe or whatever your bios looks for already... instructions are included anyway. good thing is it gives you the option to easily launch xmbc, evox or whatever if needed, just hold a button down
  3. yep, anything to make an xbox cab more kick-arse would be great! Main menu starts with platforms... perfect!
  4. Anything that'll make my cab more awesome would be... we... AWESOME!!!! Skinning options, maybe even game icon/logos in place of the plain old text/font (small icon/logos in a list which expand when highlighted), I think some Mame front ends have logos so there must be logo packs out there. probably wishful thinking there, but I think when the ability to skin is available you get some talented people make some very cool stuff... and i'd have a crack for sure, it doesn't look bad now mind you, especially with videos set up. also, easier setup for console games would be handy, the less renaming of roms and creating shortcuts the better... I know it's user error but I just can't get my xbox games to show still. would separate rom/game/iso folders for each console work? could I just tell coinops to look at my Games folder from the menu? That's all, i'm in love otherwise
  5. This is an odd one. Is it possible for me to edit the frontend so I can get it to match my cab? for example, I won't have a triggers so cycling through the menu options won't really work, and my buttons won't be labelled A,B,X,Y, etc (although I could put those labels on the cab I guess). speaking of frontends... has anyone seen Hyperspin? craaaaaazy, the poor old xbox would shit itself if it tried this!
  6. I think my zip is fine as the game title is showing in coinops, it must be a problem linking to the game as it fails when launching. does it matter where the game is? it's in the same partition in my games folder at the moment... i'll just try again and triple check everything. thanks for the suggestions too, will have to grab guilty gear, I remember those games being pretty good and SHARP to look at. don't know about driving games though, using the stick to steer just won't feel right. gotta hunt down NFL Blitz, I remember LOVING that on the dreamcast, arcade roots too!
  7. I just moved the gametitle.xbe into the coinops root folder but I still experience the same problem... maybe i'm getting the directory line wrong or something when using xbe shortcut maker the 0kb .zip can just be a renamed .txt file right? totally empty is fine? another minor issue I have, how do I get midway preview video to show? cheerz!
  8. Hi ace Do you have any photos of your cab? would love to see it. From what i've seen Coinops looks like the perfect launcher for all the games I want to play, I don't know what it'll be like but I intend to play stuff like Sonic (Megadrive) on the thing so having arcade games AND all the console games together is perfect. I will be going for a hacked pad with the help from a bloke at work, I purchased 2 cheap PS2/3 arcade sticks and will remove the buttons and sticks. My cab will actually be a coffee table, everything will be concealed 'till you turn the thing on and open the control box... 32inch LCD underneath, will force 4:3 aspect ratio and cover the rest of the screen. I think it'll look awesome when i'm done!
  9. aaaah that's where I went wrong, i'll try it again tonight. thanks for that BP, fantastic customer support!
  10. that thread is gold, just what I wanted! Thanks again BP. while you're here, could you tell me how to use xbe shortcut maker so I can launch xbox games from Coinops? I managed to get the Megadrive games to launch (they just decided to work after reboot) but xbox games take me to evox, i've done something wrong. both GAMETITLE.xbe and GAMETITLE.zip go in the roms folder yeah? I probably should ask in the coinops thread again
  11. Hi all. i'm about to make an xbox powered arcade cab, and I was wondering what xbox games would work with the directional stick without analogue. so far I have marvel vs capcom 2, capcom vs SNK EO, metal slug 3,4 & 5, dead or alive 3 (not sure if this works yet) and alien homonid am I missing anything worthwhile? thanks!
  12. Loving all these updates, so awesome. thanks BP
  13. I need a bit of help setting up console games. I have managed to get both megadrive and xbox games to show (all i've tried so far) in the menu, however when I attempt to launch the Megadrive games it goes to black screen for a short time before returning to the menu. With xbox games, it takes me back to evox i'm pretty sure I have followed the instructions correctly, but I have obviously done something wrong. Megadrive games are zipped, placed in roms folder, renamed as per the .txt, rescanned games, games show but don't launch XBOX games in root/games folder, used xbox shortcut app pointing to the default.xbe, created empty txt file, renamed to .zip, both named as per the .txt, transferred to coinops roms folder, rescanned games, xbox games show in list but don't launch. what am I going wrong? once I have this sussed my xbox will be going in a cab and will launch directly to coinops, it's the perfect launcher!! thanks!!
