  1. Will the fixed PGM settings (start the CAVE games on NORMAL instead of EASY and C BUTTON FULL AUTO = ON) be added to FBA Next in the next update?
  2. Do the PGM CAVE games play on a 64mb machine in R8 (virtual memory?) or do I have to use a 128mb one?
  3. I still have no XBox, but I think I'll get one this weekend. What I would REALLY want (listed in order of priority) * Advanced Option (edit configuration file) to set frontend controls to whatever button I want with button combination (for example Player1 start +Player1 fire1 = exit game) * nvram support for CAVE PGM games (IIRC the difficulty is now incorrectly set to EASY with no autofire on C button) Why do I want the frontend button remapping option? Because I use arcade controls with only 4 buttons + start NOT the original controller so no thumb, trigger etc. I'm sure many (advanced) users will love this option.
  4. The whole point of my post though was to ask if the PGM games has nvram support in CoinOPS or not? I merely put the 360 FBA Next port in here as it lacks this and is built on the same core? I will try CoinOPS first thing as soon as I have an XBox though. It's very impressive.
  5. I haven't yet tried CoinOPS, but now had some time with the FBA Next for the 360, and that emu port misses nvram support for PGM games. Is this the case in CoinOPS as well? If so, it's quite annoying, as the FBA core PGM support has a faulty default setting (EASY instead of NORMAL and no autofire on C button). If it's missing, would it be possible to add nvram support or automatic save start loading at least, so you won't have to go into the settings each time you want to play those titles?
  6. That's an unrelated discussion on if it's possible to switch roms on an Arcade PCB to change a rather cheap ESPGALUDA into an expensive DOJ BL or Ketsui.
  7. Sorry, I didn't realize it was for an SD monitor.
  8. There's another way that's a little bit easier than hooking up an Emotia, and that is the SLG3000 Scanline Generator available from http://www.arcadeforge.de
  9. When the PGM games first got included in MAME, the sound emulation was lacking mostly due to the game running in 60hz instead of 59.175hz (you can hear it very clearly on the boss theme as the distorted guitar sample doesn't loop seamlessly). I don't know what CoinOPS driver is included from, so I'm just speculating. I'm curious about the latest Toaplan inclusion, is it the added sound and graphical fixes for Batsugun etc?
  10. Yeah, don't sweat it guys, I'll see it when I get hold of an XBox and have Epic running on it.
  11. Thanks for the XBox video output info. I have an Ultracade Universal Video Converter already that I prefer to the Emotia (had one, sold it) as the UVC can output 24kHz as well as 240p 15kHz. The 480i is good enough for me though, I have an RGB Scart to JAMMA unit that gives amazing results for all my scart consoles. You can find lots of pictures and info on my site: http://www.emphatic.se I've spent an hour trying to find video on YouTube showing the Advanced Video Settings for CoinOps displayed, but no luck so far.
  12. I plan on running my XBox in my low res EGRET II cabinet using RGB video, so I'll be running in the lowest possible resolution available to me. I don't know if the XBox is capable of 240p, but if it is then I already own Progear CPS2 board and the Ibara, ESP Ra.De. and ESPGALUDA PCBs, but I'd like to be able to run Ketsui (my favorite CAVE release) as the port runs too fast. I have all the 360 ports that I'm running in my Japanese 360, see. IIRC, some MAME dev was a bit surprised that the PGM hardware need lesser hardware to run smoothly than the NEO GEO. Of course, sprite buffers etc can eat up memory pretty fast and CAVE kinda pump out bullets at you. I'd love to play some more Garegga as well. I might be able to upgrade the memory (the soldering) but isn't it hard to find the parts today? I'll also try to find some video of the video settings. I'm still looking for an XBox locally as I'd rather not pay out the *** for shipping. Thanks a lot information and sorry that I can't be of more help as I don't have the hardware to test stuff.
  13. Thanks. The advanced video options sounds awesome, would someone please be so kind and snap a photo of it or list the available options? Also, is 128MB RAM a must to run all games, or just recommended? I'm looking at picking up an XBox now, but the price difference is kinda steep. I'm mostly interested in running the PGM CAVE titles as well as other vertical shmups. Sorry if I went off topic. I'm
  14. Hi, I have a question regarding vertical games. Is it possible to have them full screen (rotated) for a vertical screen? I don't yet have an XBox, but your amazing work has made me crave one really bad. Cheers!
