  1. Ace, just get a modchip - they aren't that hard to install.

i know but there hard to find and the modchips i can find cost £30 plus shipping.... if they were cheaper i would consider it :D

this box has no leads or pads either so i might take the rom out and bin it

if you have the following games you can softmod it again

    GAMES SOFTMODDING SUPPORTS:

    1. James Bond - Agent Under Fire

    2. Splinter Cell

    3. Mech Assult - 1st Release

oh yeh this could work and you have all the tools already if I remember rightly. good thinking lordpro!

  2. Never understood the appeal of 'pixel perfect' myself. Just seems like an inventive way of making arcade games look completely different to how they actually looked in the arcade. All these crazy numbers may be 'pixel' perfect but good old 4:3 is arcade perfect. :)

Same here. This is trend that appeared about 2 years ago (after Cospefogo pointed this out). I had a try and never feel excited. Well, everyone has his own trip. :clapping:

:) lol each to their own, i've been trying to use pixel perfect and those edges still look jaggy no matter what I do!

hehe feel better for having it on than having it off if you know what I mean.

    Erm... yeah :)

  3. Also I know I shouldn't be requesting game drivers etc, but its such an important game I thought I'd request it anyway. "Golden Axe II revenge of death adder" is very glitchy in coinops.

Extremely unlikely to ever see this in a playable state on fbal.

The more I improve it on coinops the more it runs like crap. The tradeoffs are graphics or frame rate. You get one or the other.

For fba, I would have to port the cpu core, graphics routines, and a lot of intermediate junk. You're not looking at a few hour process. Even after that, there's no guarantee that it would run at a decent frame rate at all.

oh lol sorry should've read this first. Sounds fair enough to me....

How about a dedicated xbox emu stripped down to run this game and this game alone? Or one built just for this game?

IQ, is there just not enough grunt in the xbox? I appreciate it would take too long to do this unless you had a real desire to do it for yourself or if you were getting paid a pretty penny for your time!

Anyways thanks for the above post nice to know the issues behind the lack of death adder 2.

    Cheers

  4. if you can add an option to disable audio for video preview too

Thats a good shout, would really like to see that implemented in a future update, the ability to disable audio for video previews. I always thought that feature was missing every time I play FBL and would be cool to see it added.

Could such a thing ever be ported over to FBL and working 100%?

    Thanks

omg I forgot about that game, I gave up hope of it working in coinops as it couldn't be fixed for whatever reason. I think because of extremely complicated driver issues. Shame because that game looks excellent and I never even saw it in the arcade so would love to play it properly (the glitches render is a bad gaming experience!)

    well suggested! I second that!

    che che check it!

  5. Hah, yeah, good luck with that.

There's been a bunch of people (including myself) who wanted to know what additional arcade games had been added from X to Y, but all they got in reply was "compare the gamelists - too many to remember".

I actually did this at one point. i.e. compared Epic R6 to R8.

Here was the list of "too many to remember":

Basically, if you want to know what additional games have been added over a given earlier version, you need to run a database comparison against the gamelist files IN EVERY VERSION.

Yes, that is what you're expected to do. Download every version, and compare all of their gamelist files.

    Seriously.

Ugh, just be thankful that person doesn't ruin I mean reside in this forum anymore! much better without him i'd say :)

Indeed. In fact, I only returned here because he left. True story.

Holy hell, I just realised you're from the Toon! Small world.

Wie aye man, big up the Heaton Massive! Where in the toon you from?

  6. Hah, yeah, good luck with that.

  7. I think it does have a future but with the new cheap linux handhelds coming from South Korea and China (Dingoo and Caanoo) you can basically have all the stuff an xbox does in a portable format.

You can hook up to tv, plug in controllers etc I believe that will be the future of emulation but as previously mentioned consoles should always have a place although probably never be as good as the xbox1 in terms of versatility and ease of modifications.

I got my xboxes, I got my Caanoo. Im very happy :) I got all bases covered at the moment.

When I was a kid I remember wishing so hard that one day I would own all the games ever made for certain systems, I never dreamed my wishes would come true!

  8. Did you hear the one about the mother who killed her 5 year old son for breaking the Tv with a Nintendo Wii remote.???

    :)

i mind readin on gamecentral maybe 5 years ago about 2 jap boys who grew up together were best pals all their lives but fell out over which dragon ball z game was the best one said 5 one said 6 the argument got so heated they ended up stabbing each other one lost a lung and the other i think a kidney i mind laughing at the time cos bein a bit outspoken i would have said their both games are shite and they would have done me in :)

lol you have a way with words :) Is that a Welsh accent? apologies if I am wrong...

  9. yeah, its a shame Dreamcast never reached its full potential, it was an amazing machine, even the VMU didn't have games developed for it like it should've :)

Still, at least you still hear of ppl who faithfully use/love their old dreamcasts to this day :)

I swapped mine for a PS2 in GAME, wish i'd kept it now....

  10. heres mine back in the day when i hung with the young team there was about 20 of us and we all piled into wee tommys every night with 2 crates of beer a big lump for rollin some fatties and a snes console with super soccer tommys maw liked a drink and didne care who was in the house but she hated people smokin we played world cup knockout and made it like the fa cup draw 1st write down our names stick them in the baseball cap and pull them out tommy was crap at super soccer and always went out in the 1st round which ment he had to wait ages for his next turn and was always sayin one day ill win it well one night tommys on a roll hes one every game and got to the semi final im gonnae win it he keeps sayin and then the front door crashes in its the drug squad and were gettin busted now their looking all over the house and gettin ready for the strip searches but wee tommy doesne want to stop hes in the semi final its his big chance maybe his only chance to win it the big policeman says ive never been in bust like it you dont seem to care youre only instrested in this game to which wee tommy says theres nae dope left weve smoked it awe and i want tae win this :) he never was the sharpest at which point his maw must a woken up cos she comes threw and says ya b......ds i telt yae no smoke in here wee tommys says maw im winning at world cup fitba there no gonna find anything she then picksup the snes throws it out the window and says f..k your fitba :) that was a true story and the end off our snes fitba nights and the end of wee tommys dream of winning world cup knockout

omg this had me crying with laughter, none of my gaming stories even come close!

Big up for Tommy and his rolling I mean gaming skills :)

  11. LOL,

well my Dingoo is now happy as I can play Turf Masters and other classic NeoGeo roms at work again without the bulk of my PSP...

(Its my 3rd Dingoo.... I keep breaking them :)

    Death by solder and youtube

Death by playing streetfighter far too much ! (still works but missing a button lol)

Anyway post extend or not thanks :)

    Hi ace,

Check out the GPH Caanoo going on ebay for 70 squids.

It can overclock to 800mhz no problem, has a GPU and plays SOR Remake, MAME, NEO GEO etc etc its basically a mini xbox.

There is a new update that allows you to plug in a USB Xbox controller! It has TV out, touchscreen (great for monkey island etc)

Wifi dongle etc etc the list goes on, Ive got a dingoo a320, a330, a380 and caanoo and I love the caanoo the best by far.

It runs linux and is South Korea's answer to the PSP and DS apparently

    Check out the vid:

edit:- sorry for going off topic, I got a bit excited :)

  12. Cant remember the year but it was the year the Dreamcast came out!

I snuck downstairs and opened my Christmas present with a razor blade, swapped it for books and resealed the presents (so they "felt" right")

Then took my Dreamcast upstairs hidden in a bag it would be played secretly each night. On Christmas eve I put it back into the box and wrapper.

I'd completed ready 2 rumble boxing by Christmas day, what a game! the others were good too (some space combat sim game where the player was fighting for the "tigers" I forget the name but remember playing online with dial up!) My parent killed me when they realised and got the phone bill!

Actually reading back through that it seems I was a horrible child lol poor parents!

  13. Hey everyone,

On a more human note I just wanted to say goodbye to everyone and to thank everyone for all the emulator fun and links that I enjoyed so much.

This site used to be a guilty pleasure while at work but soon changed into an obsession. I used this site and xbox-scene to explore xbox modding to the max and even churned out about 50 or so xboxes as my hobby grew. Nearly every one of my friends has an xbox special! There are lots of people out there enjoying all this stuff and they are grateful too.

In fact I got so into xboxes that I realised my life as an administrator had no meaning and was utterly shit. So I left my job (soooo happy since) went to college to study IT and have now got into University to study computer and network technologies.

What has this to do with this section? well if it wasnt for the ole xbox I would never have realised what I wanted to do with my life so in a wierd way I have all you guys to thank for making it all so interesting and giving me the idea to study IT.

Its a shame all the old faces are nearly all gone but that is what happens when under the rule of a dictatorship. TBH I am going to be too busy to trail all through BPs frankly wierd rantings anymore and after today have decided to quit before things get even worse.

Anyways enough negativity there, forget about that ;-)

I wish you all well in the future, it was fun pushing the xbox to the max and beyond!

SO LONG AND THANKS FOR ALL THE EMUS :)

Special props go to Fumanchu, this should be your forum man not BPs

    Adios!
