  1. You've been around since the early EmulForums ages back when I made you moderator. Do you remember that? What happened to you? :P

Its a long story, filled with suspense, intrigue and lamoor... but I won't bore you with it :P.

Didn't know about the 100 post thing, thanks for the heads up.

    Max was a mod? wow

Back then we had more mods than normal members lol.

Z-Neo, Disoblige: Thanks much, I'll check em out right away.

  2. I actually beg to differ. As someone who has been working on a mod for about a year now, were just still brainstorming on how the hell our mod is gonna work. Storyboards would be when the story's plot outline & script has been finalized. You are sort of jumping the gun in your explination.

That isn't how it usually works on bigger productions. The storyboards are THE time to experiment, nothing is finalized. Often times different departments will work on scenes and storyboard them and then try to "sell" em to the director.

Hayao Miyazaki for instance begins drawing stroyboards before even the character designs and story are finalized.

  3. I personally don't like RPGs because I prefer classic gamey games such as fighting games, racing games and light gun games (and lots of others) where the main focus is trying to better yourself and beat others (head to head or for the highest scores ect). But I do see the appeal of RPGs - they are just not games to me.

That right there made your whole argument laughable.

  4. Yeah they really did great with KOF, espcially how they intermingled it with other series (Garou and to an extent SamSho).

That being said though, I'd still dig KOF even if it were low on story. And a characters background has never influenced my decision on wether I play him/her or not. Heck, Ramon is one of my all time fave characters and all I know about him is that he has the hots for Vanessa.

  5. The Revolution will f-up if it doesn't live up to its name thanks to all the hype it generated. Roms on a console (which you will have to pay for) is not revolutionary. Not to mention that they will be soft and not hard copies if the HD will be used for this.

PSP and DS are both crap, one is a Playstation with a screen and the other a cheap gimick.

  6. Its much smaller than I thought it would be, I love it.

I'm a huge MGS nut and MGS3 is blowing me away, what an amazing game. I'm only a few hours in but I can already see it getting into my top 3.

I watched a friend play dmc once and didn't think much of it, not really into the whole gothic thing.

  7. Does yours play both PS1 and PS2 backups fine or only PS2? Which PStwo do you have (V12, V13 etc)?

BTW I did a little reading and some people are saying that modding deteriorates the lifespan of the lazer. Is this true or is it the fault of bad installation?

  8. Sup,

I'm gonna go to buy a PS2 and need to know which is better, the slim one or the older larger sized model (aside from the modem thing)?

I'm planning to get a modchip installed, will PStwo give me probs or is the chipping just like it is on the PS2? Will I be able to play both PS2 and PS1 backups on this?

I heard that its tough to chip the slim one and even if you do it it stops working with time. Is this true?

    - Thanks

  9. Here's what Badaro from NGemu posted:

95% of the problems with Valkyrie Profile are due to sound configuration:

    1) Very Important: Go into to Config -> Sound, and make sure the last checkbox ("Enable SPU IRQ hack") is not checked.

    2) Use either Peops' DSound, or Eternal for SPU plugin.

    3a) Settings for Eternal SPU:

    - Audio out method: SPUasync

    - Check "SPU IRQ - Wait CPU action"

    - Check "SPU IRQ - Force interruption flag7"

    3b) Settings for Peops' DSound:

    - Mode: "2 - Use SPUasync"

    - Check "SPU IRQ - Wait for CPU action"

  10. I turned off both the options and I still get the GWL error. I tried lowering the effecrs a lot on the 1st OpenGL and all I got was worse colors and the same slowdown.

Yeah the video card is craptacular. Got the comp as a package and loved the specs but have no knowledge of 3D cards so got kind of screwed. Eitherway all of my gaming (on the PC) is emu related and I have zero interest in PC games so a purchase of a new card would be kind of a waste (FF9 is actually the only game I haven't been able to run due to lack of power).

  11. A slight correction, even the start/continue menu is extremely slow and not only the FMVs when I use OpenGL (the resolution is great though). And this is not only with FF9, I tried Resident Evil 3 and got the same exact slowdown when using this plugin. That being said though this plugin seems to work the best of the bunch for this game.

I tried Direct3D and it crashed on me.

My screen monitor resolution is 1024x768.

At least your overall systems specs can handle PSX emulation very well.

    Thats good to hear.

P.S. I apologize for the absence.

  12. RADEON 9200 SE Family

    2.99 Ghz

    512 ram

    XP

I tried the link but I get a boatload of slowdown the moment I load the CD (NTSC I think). The slowdown is both in terms of video and sound, using Epsxe 1.52. There was so much slowdown that I gave up and didn't even wait till the game started (I like my FFs with FMVs). The first plugin mentioned there gave me the slowdown while the second gave me an error and screwed up my monitor's resolution.

Any help would be very appreciated.

  13. Sup,

I would just like to know if its possible to play this game from start to finish on VGS or Epsxe? In a way that you can enjoy the game and aren't flooded with glitches/probs.

    - Thanks

EDIT: If you have finished it then please list the settings/plugins you used,
