  1. 1. I thought that the scene with Bruce Wayne, Harvey Dent, and Rachel Dawson, and with the Joker, was cut short after Batman saved Rachel. Why would Batman suddenly leave Joker and his men up there with all of Bruce's guests?

I think the point of Batman leaping to save Rachel is to show that Bruce cares mostly about the safety of her and how it blinds him. The rest of that scene does leave a lot of questions such as what happened? and all that. It may have been cut out due to time issues or something, but hopefully there will be an extended scene whenever it's available to purchase.

    4. I was very disappointed with Joker's last scene in the movie. It gave us nothing. So he's suddenly dangling from a rope? It would have been better if he cut the rope with one of his knives and we see him on the ground one second and gone the other. It just seemed so inconclusive.

I'm not sure if I remember correctly, but there was the nozzle of a gun in the corner while Batman was leaving which would suggest Joker was taken into custody. Joker's thing is he enjoys putting Batman into moral dilemmas, getting caught, going to Arkham, and then escaping and doing it all over again. But you're right, that would have been so much more dramatic and scary in the long run... but something like that would lead fans to believe Joker would be another central character in a sequel, and I remember Two Face being a big thing with Nolan so I guess he's more interested in creating another Dent story.

heath wasn't the be all end all in my opinion. I enjoyed his performance but it wasn't unstoppable.. I really hate Bale as batman. the gruff voice is retarded. I liked Keaton's whisper better. this was a great movie but i dunno, there was something missing. the magic from when I first sat in a theater and watched Burton's Batman is no where to be found.

Yeah, the gruff voice was a bit overused. I love the whisper... they definitely should have used both through the film and only the screams when Batman was pissed. Otherwise, the only thing Bale has going for him is height and that he's athletic enough... he just can't top Keaton's demeanor, though. I think Tim Burton had even said it, Keaton is weird enough to dress up like a bat and fight crime. But you know who would have been good had he still been young? Alec Baldwin.

And I'm pretty sure Ledger could be topped, but he was really damn good and way better than Nicholson's. It'd be interesting if they pulled the whole plastic surgery thing with Joker in future films to reference his face change (assuming they'd continue or use Joker again). Recently in comics, Joker did get plastic surgery and also gave himself a permanent smile.

and as for that Hong Kong scene, I felt it was necessary to story development and to also show the lengths Batman is willing to go to keep Gotham safe.

  2. Dude... speechless, almost!

I'll try to be as vague as possible...

A lot of the story reminded me of The Long Halloween - the villains Batman dealt with, the rise of the freaks and fall of the mob, and its emphasis on how tragic a character Harvey Dent truly is.

The victims being murdered reminded me of Dark Victory, and I could totally tell that arc influenced this movie as well.

And how heartless the Joker was, how evil and destructive, and how far ahead of Batman and the police - totally The Joker's Five-Way Revenge and The Man Who Laughs. Everyone was a pawn, it was amazing, and it was all true to these characters.

I was so impressed by everything, especially Ledger. He was The Joker in The Dark Knight, no question about it. He was so terrifying it reminded me of Grant Morrison's take on the character, and what seemed like false pleas for sympathy was reminiscent of Alan Moore's Joker. These guys definitely did their homework!

And the way the bad guys are caught... it was seriously a comic on film.

I don't think Harvey Dent was killed, everyone is always left to believe that's the case with the dude in the comic books. The man is a survivor, and it's totally open for a longer run on Two Face in another film.

And besides all of this, it was probably one of the best movies I've ever seen.

  3. First time I smoked weed I got high.

First time I drank beer I had another and kept getting more until I got drunk.

First time I smoked a cigarette... nothing happened, really.

I wouldn't smoke weed again since its just not my thing.

I enjoy drinking liquor socially and as long as drunk is what everyone intends to get.

And I'll never smoke a cigarette again since I felt disgusting afterwards and smelled terrible until I took a shower.

  4. Soon, he'll be Dr. Gryph.

Why can't he be Dr. Kramer? Or we could come up with another name! Let's create another name for our resident doctor!

And my day ended up being boring. The only entertainment I had was Arrested Development Season Two... oh, and also learning that my boss gave me the weekend off, which NEVER happens. Ever. Unless it's requested...

  5. To salorskin: I saw funny games (remake), it's sick, I loved it till the very end, and consider it my type of insanity, logic in a illogical world, my favorite scene, the remote and the shotgun ;), hope is given and quickly taken away!

Yeah, it's a pretty amazing movie. Well, I didn't see it as hope, it was more of a cliche way that things go down in that sort of movie (minus the remote). Thing is, it would have sped up the inevitable for her instead of us viewers witnessing more mental torture.

ALSO! I heard there is possibly going to be a sequel! Totally excited for that.
