  1. Fox owns everything related to watchmen now!

So wait, they won the case?

I heard WB wanted to cut the running time down... so if Fox does own movie rights then hopefully they don't make that mistake as well.

  2. It really depends on who's writing for the Joker, but otherwise I'm going to say comics Joker is the most interesting and entertaining. Unfortunately some writers completely miss the point of the character and use him as just some cliche murderous freak like we see in horror movies, and sometimes he has some awkward plan and it all just feels so silly and campy.

In movies, Heath Ledger's performance combined with the writing was hands down the greatest. He was definitely handled the way he has been in past comics. And though the look wasn't so comic-booky, I feel it added some sort of realism to the character making him seem so much more plausible to exist (though I'm sure we can all agree he did a lot of things that seem pretty impossible).

I took my dad to see the movie, and we discussed, and he had told me that Jack Nicholson's character was all hype since nothing like that had been done in film before, but in the end it was just silly and the character had no true depth and wasn't anywhere near as haunting as Ledger's. He just wasn't written well, and definitely didn't go out with a bang. Ledger's spewed irony and dark humor as the character should.

Cartoon Joker was handled just as well! I love the way he was written, I just can't stand Luke Skywalker's voice, really. It's not at all what I would imagine and just annoys me.

'This guy goes into the hospital, okay?... his wife's just had a baby and he can't wait to see them both. And the doctor smiles and says, "They're fine. Just fine. Your wife's delivered a healthy baby boy and they're both in tip-top form."

    "You're one lucky guy."

So the guy rushes into the maternity ward with his flowers. But it's empty. His wife's bed is empty.

"Doc?" He says and turns around and the doctor and all the nurses wave their arms and scream in his face.

"APRIL FOOL! YOUR WIFE'S DEAD AND THE BABY'S A SPASTIC!!"

    Get it?'

That still gives me the creeps.

  3. But the Bible teaches us that God was not done with man. For we were His creation and He then spoke to Noah in Genesis 8:21-27 after the flood.

“21. The LORD smelled the pleasing aroma and said in his heart: “Never again will I curse the ground because of man, even though every inclination of his heart is evil from childhood. And never gonna give you up.

    22. “Never gonna let you down.”

23.”Never gonna run around and desert you.”

    24. “Never gonna make you cry.”

    25. “Never gonna say goodbye.”

    26. “Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you.”

I think I just got Rickrolled by the bible. Srsly.

That was the only thing that didn't irritate me hahaha

  4. First movie I saw was actually a Showtime film called Our Fathers.

It's about the Roman Catholic Church sexual abuse scandal and boy... for one of those "made for TV" type of movies it was pretty good. Of course, you also have to take it for what it is. I honestly hated the actors portraying the priests (that's how great [though simple] a job the actors did), but somehow felt disconnected with the actors portraying the adults that were molested/raped as children. And the kids did an amazing job on the flashback scenes. I'd probably give it a 6 or 7.

    Afterwards I watched Mr. Woodcock.

What a waste of time. I probably chuckled a few times and was waiting the rest of the time for the movie to pick up. After introducing every character you pretty much figure out what's going to happen... I mean, it's a film with Billy Bob Thornton. Seriously. He's like the same exact character in every movie, just in this one they give him the whole compassion bit like they did in Bad Santa. Bad News Bears doesn't count, I hated that movie and wish they never touched it. 4

  5. did you hit it?

No way man. He wanted to arrange a meeting to which I declined. He's been trying to pass off a bunch of women he's not interested in on me... like they're his hack hags or something. I did try to humor him by speaking with one, but I just can't force myself to be interested so I kind of just dropped her altogether before she got even more attached or before something bad happened.

  6. Just saw Dark City

I'm surprised you hadn't seen this movie before.

    Anyways, I just saw

I wouldn't know what to rate it, but it was a pretty good. I think the Beatles references and songs are what truly kept me going as it wasn't the greatest film I've seen. The love story was way better than that sh!tfest called PS I Love You's story (you know, that movie chicks get all wet over?), and I guess it just seemed more genuine and all. There were a few scenes that I couldn't stand, but they didn't really throw off my experience too much. The visuals were awesome. mmmm can't think of anything more. I enjoyed it, though I would suggest against viewing if you're not into musicals or don't care for The Beatles.

Oh, the songs weren't butchered, btw. There were probably two that I didn't like, but I wasn't so into them to begin with.

  7. Sonic and The Black Knight? What's all this then? I feel verily confused by this for a number of reasons.. looks like we'll have to wait for next month's Nintendo Power for the answers.

PS- Let me just add that a title like this being exclusively on the Wii saddens me to no end. Not 'cause I actually want to play it or anything silly like that.

You're going to be in a video game?! Congrats!

  8. I found the movie online (free viewing, apparently). I'll let everyone know how it goes. So far, quality isn't so great.

And the whole time watching the movie I couldn't get The Long Halloween and Dark Victory out of my head. Of course it didn't follow every detail, but there were so many elements from those stories and they were presented so well.
