  1. I live in the UK and I don't really know what can be done about it here, I know it's obviously illigal to download and share games and the like, but how far the UK law system takes such things, I'm unsure.

The only thing I can say in my case is I only download old software... but then again that's no excuse.

I do have to admit though, as days go on I think more about not downloading so-called illigal software, however when it comes to games I allways buythem for my Gamecube, PC, PS2, XBox, GBA etc etc... and for downloads it's mainly Dreamcast, Amiga and the odd PC utillity.

I guess for me to completly stop right now, would be for someone in my country to get cought and see what happens to them.

Just hope it's not me :P

  2. Just for a laugh I tried it in the ultra setting with 2* FSAA at 1024 * 768, to my amazement it actually runs playable, with a little slowdown, which was expected, but I notice a big slowdown when opening doors. :P  :D

If you have the harddrive space (4 gigs+), you can unpack the pk4 files and that slowdown should disappear.

    Cool, I'll give it a shot! B)

  3. Well, with me, I have a 9800 Pro 128, a 64 3200+ and 1 GB of ram. I've played it on Ultra, and it lagged when ever i opened doors and certain scenes. So i'm baseing it on that.

Sa,e here, excpet 3000+ and 512MB RAM. Medium Setting is flawless. Anything higher than that and the game is still very playable, but lags when opening doors.

About Doom3: Jesus christ the atmosphere is tense. I've just gone past the point when the big bull/dog-type thing appears the first time.

Cool, so it shouldn't be to bad on my PC, man! I'm gonna buy it today, can't wait! :)

  5. Well I try to stick to DiscJuggler, but for Alcohol 1.9.2 just use the image making wizard and select the drive u put your game disc into. Let it rip the image to ur hard drive then burn the ripped mdf/mds to new cd-r with alcohol again. I prefer the rip/burn method rather than disc to disc copying, but it prob can be done.

yeah, what he said, it's allways best to make the image first

  6. Your a fricken retard with mental problems if a game can control you like that, i hope you get locked up. Your giving games a bad name because of your mental disabilities.

the person in question got a life sentence, which here in britain means, not life, plus he's 17 which means he'll prolly get out in about 10!

  7. Here's a question. Does an American really care what game is banned in another country or vice versa?

I don't care but I do like to laugh and mock the citizens of the countries whose government ban games. Muahahaha! Take that you Germans and British and Brazilians! MUAHAHAA!

well, its not the government which banned the game it was apparently a couple of stores doing it as a mark of respect.

I don't think any game has actually been actually banned here in britain, its just all the people trying to blame games that pisses me right OFF! the US has had its fair share of this too.

  8. EDIT: may I ask you in which country you're in BobRedthorp?

I live in the UK, the game has not actually fully banned, the story is that the parents of the boy who was killed last week blamed the game for it, as it was quite a horrific murder etc, now because the parents said this, certain stores such as common electrical stores like Dixons and Curys and a well known game store called Game decided to stop selling it yesterday however, stores such as HMV, Virgin and other indipentent stores do continue to sell it. I think this happend once before with a different game here but I'm not too sure what it was, but I'm sure after the dust settles about this story I bet the start selling the game again.

EDIT: And another weird thing about blood in games, I don't know, but I would find it more disturbing in real life if you started to spew green blood instead of red???? :P

  9. There are ESRB/CESO ratings for a reason. And I wouldn't call Manhunt Ultra violent. But laws should be enforced if their wanting to take it seriously.

Thats the point I was trying to say, over here we have PEGI who have rated this game strictly for adults.

  10. Well, due to a rescent murder in my country, some stores have decided to ban the ultra violent game Manhunt since this is the game that has been said is to blame.

I personally feel that there must be something wrong with you if a game is enough to make you do something like this in the first place, therefore I feel it's stupid to blame the game, besides, it's ment to be sold to 18+ here.

I just wanted to know some of you guys opinions on things like this B)
