  1. Hmmm...

The answer to your question is yes and no, I personally only have one burned game (Ikaruga) and that is a self boot, now because that is self boot you dont really need the Utopia boot CD but it will actually boot it (obviously).

As far as I am aware, Utopia cant boot burned games.

I beleive the way to do this would be to use something like 'Dc Hakker' which is intended for launching software through the Dreamcast.

  2. Well, my DreamKey 3.0 CD arrived and for anyone else wondering, it does still work fine.

Surprisingly it even works with a lot of new web pages, albeit no support for the latest versions of Flash and Shockwave player, but hey you’ve got your PC for that, but it works fine for chatting, and downloading game saves and custom VMU games. <_<

  3. The other day I managed to get hold of the three Bleemcast game discs (GT2, MGS and Tekken 3), still factory sealed!

They run flawlessly, with FMV, it shows there still around, and if you want to emulate these games proparly, the origionals are the way to go.

However they only run the games they are intended for (i.e Green - GT2, purple - MGS and blue -Tekken 3)

(Oh, and you need a dedicated VMU as Bleemcast formats it! <_< )

I got all 3 for £5. Bargain eh!

The Beta version of Bleemcast is not bad, but there are a lot of severe graphics problems, plus it cant play FMV and CD Audio. But it can run some games quite well. I downloaded it to play the unreleased/banned game Thrill Kill, a beta version which I managed to get hold of.

  4. I think it depends on the region your playing from, as I beleive that PAL version games like Quake 3 Arena used dedicated Europe servers, now that Sega has discontinued these servers European gamers may have problems playing games online now.

I could be wrong though, as I am a UK owner, but I am still yet to try it.

But what I have been lead to beleive is that US gamers used servers which are used for multiple platforms etc, i.e. PC and DC, so I think this is why they can still use certain online games for the DC today.

If I'm wrong someone please correct me here. <_<

  5. Its cool, I bought a copy still in the shrink wrap, It was old stock from a local store called G-Force.

It cost £12, and it actually runs my US Unreal Tournament, which I've been trying to get to work for ages! :(

Also the other day I got the three official factory sealed versions of Bleemcast, (Tekken 3, Grand Turismo 2 and Metal Gear Solid!) all for £5 what a bargain if I dont say so myself!, compared to the beta version the games run flawlessly! with FMV!

  6. Yeah, but it seems that the only game I cant get to work is Unreal, I have tried many other games and they all seem to work. I have seen the disc running on a US DC so I know theres nothing wrong with the disc.

But I have heard that not every game will work!

Anyway, perhaps its just not to be! <_<

  7. I've Got the US version of Unreal Tournment, but every non commercial Import boot disc (i.e. Utopia...) I use wont seem to play it on my PAL Dreamcast, ive even tried DC-IE but other games such as Seaman, and Sonic Adventure work fine!

Perhaps DC-X would let me play it, but I doubt it as its basically the same as Xploder which is what I currently use.

I'll keep searching for it in shops :P
