  1. well i bought mine around the time the price dropped to $50 and it came with crazy taxi but my first exprience with dc was from a friend of mine owning one and then i saw maverl vs. capcom playing perfectly like the arcade and my jaw dropped when i saw nfl/nba2k in which i knew sega was on to something.

but the console didn't really "grab" to me as like ps1 did when it came out and playing resident evil on it scaring the sh*t out me when playing it at 12am or so heh. same feeling goes to n64 which i also didn't own and still really don't (got the console that really fell off a truck but no back pieces or controllers heh)

  2. hmm upper being out in 99 seems odd since i think NAOMI was out around 2000 and at system16, it says it was released in 2001 and the title screen shot there points that out as well (1998-2001). heres a link to system16 i was looking at: http://www.system16.com/capcom/hrdw_gdrom.html

it plays well on the ps1 emu but from my exprience, there was one annoying thing that happens off and on that causes the game to slowdown badly and then continue fine.

this is what happend to me with the version before the latest pcsxbox so it might not do that now.

ps1 version as many ppl know has missing frames due to ps1's limited memory so some combos and such won't be same as the arcade.

Edit: NAOMI was out around 99, my bad but upper is definitely 2001.

    btw, whats sfz3mm for dc?

  3. go to gamestop or funcoland an get yourself universal real arcade stick made by pelican, cost is $40 and it works with ps2. gc, and xbox.

very easy to mod too so you can replace the buttons\switches and\or joystick with quality parts that you can get easily from ebay.

but even if you don't wanna uprgade too soon, the stock buttons/switches and joystick are nice as is so its well worth it and you can easily make it for pc use via ps2 adapter or solder in a usb cable in the xbox's solder points and you're in business :thumbsup1:

LOS ANGELES - It began, fittingly enough, with jazz from New Orleans natives Harry Connick Jr. and Wynton Marsalis.

But “A Concert for Hurricane Relief,” a heartfelt and dignified benefit aired on NBC and other networks Friday night, took an unexpected turn thanks to the outspoken rapper Kanye West. Appearing two-thirds through the program, he claimed “George Bush doesn’t care about black people” and said America is set up “to help the poor, the black people, the less well-off as slow as possible.”

The show, simulcast from New York on NBC, MSNBC, CNBC and Pax, was aired live to the East Coast, enabling the Grammy-winning rapper’s outburst to go out uncensored.

There was a several-second tape delay, but the person in charge “was instructed to listen for a curse word, and didn’t realize (West) had gone off-script,” said NBC spokeswoman Rebecca Marks.

As the show came to a close, host Matt Lauer noted that “emotions in this country right now are running very high. Sometimes that emotion is translated into inspiration, sometimes into criticism. We’ve heard some of that tonight. But it’s still part of the American way of life.”

In a statement, NBC said, “Kanye West departed from the scripted comments that were prepared for him, and his opinions in no way represent the views of the networks.

“It would be most unfortunate,” the statement continued, “if the efforts of the artists who participated tonight and the generosity of millions of Americans who are helping those in need are overshadowed by one person’s opinion.”

Lauer invited viewers to contribute to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund by phone or on the Web. Some 18 presenters performed musical numbers or gave information on the tragedy’s huge scope.

Louisiana native Tim McGraw teared up as he told Lauer, “I know the citizens that weren’t affected by this directly are gonna stand up and do good things for people.” He sang two songs, then became the first of the evening’s stars to sign a Gibson Les Paul Special guitar to be auditioned online.

Faith Hill, a Mississippi native, sang “There Will Come a Time,” with the inspiring lyrics, “The darkness will be gone, the weak shall be strong. Hold on to your faith.”

New Orleans son Aaron Neville performed Randy Newman’s soulful “Louisiana 1927” with the memorable chorus, “they’re trying to wash us away, they’re trying to wash us away.”

New York governor George Pataki presented the Red Cross with a check for $2.5 million and promised, “This great state will do far more.”

“In terms of property damage,” said actress Hilary Swank, “the estimate is at least $26 billion in insured losses and perhaps twice that in uninsured losses over a 90,000-square-mile area — approximately the size of Kansas.”

Other speakers included Lindsay Lohan, Eric LaSalle, Glenn Close, Richard Gere, John Goodman and Leonardo DiCaprio.

Comedian Mike Myers was paired with West for a 90-second segment that began with Myers speaking of Katrina’s devastation. Then, to Myers’ evident surprise, West began a rant by saying, “I hate the way they portray us in the media. If you see a black family, it says they’re looting. See a white family, it says they’re looking for food.”

While allowing that “the Red Cross is doing everything they can,” West — who delivered an emotional outburst at the American Music Awards after he was snubbed for an award — declared that government authorities are intentionally dragging their feet on aid to the Gulf Coast. Without getting specific, he added, “They’ve given them permission to go down and shoot us.”

After he stated, “George Bush doesn’t care about black people. Please call —” the camera cut away to comedian Chris Tucker.

The concert ended with the entire ensemble performed “When the Saints Go Marching In.”

Friday’s program was the first of several TV benefits planned through next weekend.

NBC and the five other major commercial broadcast networks, along with PBS, plan to unite next Friday for a special. The same night, BET will air a benefit. And on Saturday, Sept. 10, the MTV networks will air a special.

wonder what he'll say if hes allowed on mtv or bet's special heh

    From Gamespot.com

Street Fighter Alpha 3 PSP site opens

The official Japanese Web site for Capcom's upcoming PSP edition of Street Fighter Zero 3 (Street Fighter Alpha 3 to North American audiences) is live, and it gives fans a peek at least one new addition to the series. The site is pretty bare bones at the moment, offering little more than a handful of screenshots on a splash page, but one of those screenshots reveals the inclusion of Capcom Fighting Evolution's Ingrid in the game. The game also includes Yun, Maki, and Eagle, characters that were added for the GameBoy Advance version of the game. Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper (working title) is slated for a November release in North America.

yea its probably old news to "someone" but wasn't for me :crybaby:

  6. Just a few questions as I'm new to the world of a modded xbox....

    1) after downloading the baed's, I gather I need to burn them to dvd. Is that dvd+r or dvd-r or another format?

    2) can these discs be loaded to the hard drive and played from there?

sorry for sounding like a noob but like I said, I just picked up a 1.6 with a smart xx v.2 and a 250 gb hard drive, and I'm new to x box emulation. Thanks for any help.

btw, can I edit my username? I need to add another "d" in daddy, heheh....

    1. -R is best to use and if you must use +R, make sure the bitsetting is set to DVD-ROM so it can be more compatible with xbox dvd-roms

    2. yes and no: yes for mame and fba-xxx disc but no for the other baed discs as most of the roms on the other discs have long names and when dumping a file to the hdd, theres a 42 character limit for that file.

so if you really want the other discs on your hdd, you'll have to rename a bunch of roms to xbox's limit.

  7. weird things tend to happen once in a while with the older ones but the last one actually fixed some of the vxcr's errors (like the first track it uploads comes up in chinese and sometimes doubled) but it too does have issues like now after it make a settings.xml, running it again claims it can't use the xml as something else is using it and when that happens it would hangup on uploading a song. i delete the xml and its good as new, go figure hehe

  8. i just did the "mess" to be on the safe side, been hacked before so better safe then sorry hehe

actually thats all the processes from when i startup windows believe it or not.

since someone borught it up, how many processes of svc host should be running? currently i see seven running.

  9. go to x-s forums and search for Xbox Soundtrack Manager, it works great tho the last release doesn't allow tell it your login info so its only set to xbox/xbox which is fine for me since xbmc uses that hehe

also xbox uses normal 128 wma's, just needs to be set the way xbox uses them which Xbox Soundtrack Manager or Xbox Soundtrack Editor can do.
