    SSNES v0.4.1 released

    Usedocne
    By Usedocne,

    SSNES v0.4.1

SSNES is a simple frontend for the libsnes library. libsnes is the emulator core of bSNES, the most accurate SNES emulator to date, in library form. The libsnes API has been implemented by SNES9x as well, allowing multiple different cores to be used for an emulator that supports libsnes. This enables the possibility of custom front-ends for the emulator.

    Changes since 0.4:

    - XML cheat support. Supports cheats with same format as bSNES uses. (Mightymo's database). Badly needs on-screen fonts to scroll through cheats and stuff :P

This means that SSNES supports everything libsnes does, as far as I know (except for RAM monitoring, which is pretty much useless for SSNES' purpose I suppose).

    - SDL video driver. Not recommended for modern OSes, but is reported to work quite well on legacy systems (Win9x).

    - Forced 16-bit colors support. Can force 16-bit colors for OpenGL and SDL drivers (see legacy systems).

    - Input handling in GUI is slightly improved for multiple controllers. The GUI is now more verbose on which joypad is used for which player.

    - Added a new -D/--detach flag for Win32 users. Using this flag will disable the ugly DOS console window when launching SSNES from a launcher. (SSNES-Phoenix does this automatically.)

    - Windowed scaling factor now respects the aspect ratio setting, rather than assuming a hardcoded 4:3 factor. (Width = aspect_ratio * scale_x * 224, Height = scale_y * 224).

    Tickle 0.94 released

    Robert
    By Robert,

    http://www.ascotti.org/programming/tickle/tickle.htm

After a 5-year hiatus, Alessandro Scotti has decided to add some big improvements to this ancient Arcade emulator.

    Version 0.94 (Apr 16, 2011)

Yeah... Tickle is back! :) This project has been frozen for many years until a few months ago I started doing some work on it again and one little piece at a time it has now grown enough to be released.

    The most significant changes are:

    - added emulation of the 6502 CPU, used in Vanguard and Nibbler

    - full analog sounds emulation in Space Invaders, samples are no longer needed!

    - improved support for Mac OS X (capture screens in PNG format, double buffering for video and more)

    - fixed a bad bug in the Z80 emulation, Galaga would not work correctly and it took me one full week to find out why!

    - improved volume balancing for the AY-3-8910 emulation

As usual new drivers have been added, this set in particular has been choosen because it allowed me to test most of the emulation components:

1942, Fantasy, Galaga, New Rally X, Nibbler, Pengo, Rally X, Rolling Crash / Moon Base, Vanguard

    SSNES v0.4-final (Win32 build) released

    SSNES v0.4-final (Win32 build)

    SSNES

    Fixes since beta release 0.4-beta:

    - Fix an edge case with XML shaders handling.

    - Fix UPS autopatching when path had several dots in it (e.g for version "1.0", etc).

    - Change string copy to strlcpy/cat. Should speed up startup slightly, but probaby not very noticable

    uBee512 5.2.0 released

    staticmem
    By staticmem,

    uBee512 v5.2.0

An emulator for the Microbee Z80 ROM, FDD and HDD based microcomputers.

    New for this release:

    * Added sn76489an Digital Complex Sound Generator (DCSG) Programmable Sound Generator IC emulation.

    * Added the EA Compumuse board emulation as a parallel port peripheral device, this project was described in the August, 1983 issue and is based on the TI 76489 sound synthesiser IC.

    * Added arguments 'sn76489' and 'sn76489init' to the --hardware option to enable SN76489 sound IC emulation for the Premium model.

    * Added the Compumuse parallel port device argument of 'compumuse' to the --parallel-port option to select the new device emulation.

    * Added options --compumuse-init and --compumuse-clock for configuring the Compumuse peripheral device.

    * Added --disk-create option for the creation of disk images.

    Changes:

    * The dynamic creation of '.temp' disk images now attempts to use LibDsk if compiled in, if not available or it fails the built in disk image creation is attempted. LibDsk allows other disk formats and types to be created.

    Fixed:

    * Fixed creation of '.temp' file images by writing out the full size as determined by the raw format extension as the files were not growing as expected.

    * Fixed --db-dump* options to output all ASCII characters if in the range of 32-126.

    * Fixed call to dsk_xwrite() by passing '0' instead of '(int)NULL' for the last parameter.
