Corn99 Posted September 7, 2004 Posted September 7, 2004 (stupid question)y cant u run next gen console emulators at a decent speed on pc,imagine the next next gen consoles
Weirdy Posted September 7, 2004 Posted September 7, 2004 hey uhh, im getting one of those GeForce6800 Ultras soon, ya think i could emu something with that? or is it just software issues (im way behind on next gen emulation because i just getthe games for pretty much nothing at work hehe)for MAME you will need a 4ghz cpu to run all ZN games, Killer Instinct, MK and later games at a decent speed since mame using software rendering
Agozer Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 (stupid question)y cant u run next gen console emulators at a decent speed on pc,imagine the next next gen consoles I've probably said this about one millkion times, but here goes again: To emulate a system at full speed, your computer has to have a clockspeed that's at least 10-15 times faster that the clockspeed of the emulated system. This is not always accurate though, and sometimes emulation requires even more speed than that.
Gnida Zoki Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 OK so i have the pscx2...configured, i have a bios, have all the plugins i need...so i download god of war *****make an ISO from the file, mount it and try to run it with the emulator...It starts doing something, but everytime i receive a messege that it ancountered a problem and needs to close (you know the error messege windows displays)....can someone PLEASE tell me what i'm doing wrong? Mod's Edit: Do no post links to ISOs.
Agozer Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 Many games do not work with PCSX2, and even if they did, they would run approx. 5-15fps depending on your system. I wouldn't call that playable. Besides, I've heard no info that God of War works in PCSX2 to begin with. Regarding the error, there's not much you can do, as part of the program executed an illegal operation. One would probably need a 7Ghz computer with the latest 512MB dual core graphics card, to get a steady 60/60 framerate, and still that's just a guestimate.
Gnida Zoki Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 I checked their site..it said that it's "playable"...playable means that it should run...but not as well as if you played on the real ps2...so you're sayin i won't be able to run it?...damm...
Agozer Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 Ah, ok. If the site said it's playable, then it is. However, something makes the emulator close with an error, so no, you can't play it. What plugins were you using and what processor do you have? (and how fast?)
Gnida Zoki Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 OK...AMD Athlon 1700+...works with 1500 Mhz...Ge Force mx 440 (i really need to buy something new...)...768 MB of RAM...that's about it..As for the plugins:Graphics: GSdx9 Sound: spu2PeopsDSoundCD-DVD: cdvdPeops and i also have CDVDiso pluginBIOS: Europe v02.00 (14.06.2004) Console (also have the Japan and USA BIOS...same version...I don't have any USB or fire wire drivers nor the dev 9 driver (don't even know what that's for)...it uses the deafault null driver...which does nothing......
Agozer Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 Sadly, those specs won't cut it. I have an AMD Athlon 64 3000+, 512MB RAM and ATI Radeon 9800 Pro, and I get roughly half the regular speed in the BIOS menu with the SSE2 build (which speeds up the emulation quite a bit, thanks to the SSE2 instruction optimizations). I know this may sound kinda harsh, but give it up. Even if you wouldn't use the emulator for playing, but for taking screenshots or compatibility testing... and the emulator giving you error message doesn't help. You're far better off playing with a modded PS2. It's far too early for the so-called next-gen systems to be emulated, speed-wise.
Gnida Zoki Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 crap...and I waited for so long to play this game.....damm...Thanks for helping me dude...You rule
Gnida Zoki Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 Just tell me one more thing...what do these HP and kills mean...that every user has...i don't get it...
Agozer Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 Just tell me one more thing...what do these HP and kills mean...that every user has...i don't get it... That would be the Forum Attack System. Why don't you check the Atatck System Forum for some info on it? It gets boring fairly quickly, but people get kicks out of it either way. Just look at a user's details and you'll see 'Attack user'. You'll then get a list of weapons to choose from. By attacking, you gain levels, EXP, Strenght, and HP.
