NRG and MDF files?

I have several games downloaded that are NRG files and some that are MDF files. I have no idea what these 2 types are or how to burn them. I have tried Disc Juggler, Nero, and Alcohol 120%. Some help would be greatly appreciated.

You can burn both in alcohol btw.

That didn't help to much, thanks though. I mean I have them unrared and such. I have tried burning but I get either errors or it just doesn't put anything onto the disc. Do you know how to get them to work with Alcohol? I tried twice.

MDF will work with alchohol

 

NRG will work with Nero AND Alchohol

 

Burn in RAW/DAO mode

Well I burned it in RAW DAO and it actually burned to the CD for once but now it just loads up the DC screen and doesn't do anything except make noises. Progression...but still not enough. Thanks for the help Shiba. Any other ideas?

Use dvd decrypter to burn nrg files. Had lots of nrg files. none of them gave me a problem once i ran them through dvdd

What speed did you burn the disc at? Try something around 8x or lower. This will usually work.

I burned at 4x this time, I never go above 8x.

And it still didn't work? That's odd. Very odd. If you got this far everything should be working. What game is it btw?

Power Stone 2, I have used nearly a dozen CDs and it still hasn't turned up anything for me. Another is HeadHunter that won't work either.

OK. I have Headhunter and that one takes a really long time to load. Mine went to a black screen while the DC made a lot of noise, just when I was about to turn it off the game started up.(of course, you said yours freezes at the DC logo) I've got Powerstone 2 as well and that should load pretty fast. It seems like you've done everything right.

I can't even get Headhunter to burn onto a CD. Hopefully someone on here will be able to help me out here, I REALLY want both of these games. Maybe someone has or knows of a place where to get them in a different format, like CDI.

PS. Utopia isnt as reliable as everyone thinks it is, try something else as well

Hey siba WTF is up with my iso? I got unreal tournament and i converted it from cdi to nrg. It said it had 2 sesions but session 1 have like 19 tracks, which i was wondering about because the ones that i normally get to work only have 1 track in the fist session, anyways, i burned it and it went to the cd player, so i was like ohh....damn i just waisted a cd, so i reburned it except i did it track at once instead of disc at once and i loaded up to that echelon screen to my hopes were high but then i pressed start and the screen went black and the dc started to make alot of noise, i was gonna try burning it again but i only got on cd left so i dont want to risk my last one yet.

You can always go register at dcforums and ask them to reseed the torrents for both of those files. They released them last week as a matter of fact. But like Shiba said you can always try bootdiscs. Or get them from a hub.
