Question about Roy Mustang's 1st appearance in FMA

According to the Full Metal Alchemist's official site; Roy Mustang appears in Episode 1:To Challenge the Sun. I have watched the first episode but I don't remember seeing anyone like Roy Mustang in that episode! There is also the problem of introducing so many characters in just one episode! They introduced at least three villains in addition to our two heroes in that first episode!

 

How could they even fit a cameo appearance for Roy? Where would Roy Mustang even appear in the first episode?

I don't really remmber him but it is very possible, if you've seen the whole series

you'll be surprised how early the characters appear. Most time just on the side

without any special role (without hearing a word) but they are there.

Yes; I know it's possible but why would he appear as early as the very first episode? He wasn't a neighbour like the other characters and the only connection I can see to Edward would be that he knew his father.

 

Where would Roy Mustang be in the very first FMA episode?

He was not on the way to the house of the Elric brothers (even so he knew

their father), but I don't want to spoil so I won't say why he was there.

Later in the series (episode 3 or later) Mustang appears at the night

of the accident, and that's at the same time as the series starts.

Do you mean to say that you saw Roy Mustang in the very first episode?

No, I just meant that he was there at the accident, he was outside of the houses,

and he even saw the lights coming out of the one of the Elric brothers.

So it's a high possibilty that he appears, even if it is just for a second.

I can see that but I still don't remember seeing that scene in the dubbed version.

 

Did they cut that scene out in the dub?

I haven't seen FMA in the dubbed version.

I'll check the original (subbed) version later if I find it.

But that's exactly the moment I meant, he was on the way to one

of the two houses (later in the series you learn about the reasons).

I just watched 1 second of the THIRD dubbed episode. I noticed that it was Roy Mustang standing in the rain with that raincoat on!

 

Does this mean that the person made a mistake when he gave this picture of Roy standing in the rain as proof that Roy Mustang appeared in the very first FMA episode?

No it's not (afaik), the Opening is shown in

the end of the first episode.
