  1. Torrentspy Dinged $111 Million in MPAA Lawsuit

By David Kravets EmailMay 07, 2008 | 4:36:04 PMCategories: BitTorrent

Cash_2 A federal judge is hitting the shuttered TorrentSpy service with a $111 million penalty for facilitating the infringement of thousands of copyrighted works.

U.S. District Judge Florence -Marie Cooper in Los Angeles, ruling in a case brought by the Motion Picture Association of America, said site operator Justin Bunnell and associates must pay the maximum $30,000 for "each of the 3,699 infringements shown."

The case, producing what is among the largest fines in copyright history, was bolstered after the MPAA allegedly paid a hacker $15,000 for internal TorrentSpy e-mails and correspondence.

"This substantial money judgment sends a strong message about the illegality of these sites," MPAA Chairman Dan Glickman said in a statement.

TorrentSpy, a U.S.-based torrent tacking service, shuttered in March after it lost its case against the MPAA. TorrentSpy did not lose on the merits, but defaulted after it failed to produce internal records.

No U.S. case has squarely addressed the legalities of BitTorrent tracking services, although one case is nearing a resolution.

Judge Cooper ordered TorrentSpy permanently shuttered.

TorrentSpy attorney Ira Rothken was not immediately available for comment. He has appealed the default order to the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco.

Darn that's a hell of a lot of money  I guess the lesson here is do not base a filesharing in the US. I always thought these sites were overseas.

  2. I remember having to force a region for the Radiant Silvergun image I had in order to get it to boot properly (even though it had a region already). It's probably a bad dump, but... it works. Radiant Silvergun has been the only game I've had problems with.

Google SatConv and use it to hack a region of your choice into the CD image.

Thanks for the advice I'll try that if this next file doesn't work :D

  3. can sum1 plz tell wtf happened in tha movie at the end with all the friggin deaths and blood.

I mean, was shinji and eva supposed to be the new adam/eve!?!?!?

I believe im referring to the first movie where i think shinji jizzed on aya...

They all died because they had to leave their bodies behind. The next evolutionary step was to become one. No one alone, no one left behind. So they all died to become one spirit or being. Shinji was asked the decision if he wanted this and he said that with all the pain and so on he would rather be who he is so... Shinji and Asuka return to make a new world. The blood or pool seen is the primeval soup, its what starts life.

  4. It's difficult because of time and type of games. The Genesis had some great games already before the Snes came out. But then at the end the Snes had better and more games. The Snes had censorship. The Snes had better Rpgs overall. The Genesis sports games were awesome. The Genesis was faster the Snes had better colors. I say it's a draw. No 16-bit collection is complete without games from both systems.

  5. That's what I miss primarly in P3. I'd spend so much time chatting up monsters in P2 to get crap. What I do like is the date sim side of things with P3. Reminds me alot of Thousand Arms but more sophisticated in terms of Commu links (and if any of you remember, at all, that in Thousand Arms, the more a girl likes you, the more stronger the weapons you forge become).

I don't remember, but aren't Zio, Agi and etc are different terms for effects in various languages and cultures? Like how Persona games draw from the Tarot deck.

I can't find a guide on demon fusion. What demons should I be working on getting?

  6. The Pixie is probably the mot common ally/enemy in any Shin Megami Tensei game, similar to, say, Slimes in Dragon Quest.

So! I love my pixie and she loves me!

Seriously she asked me that and I said yes I love you ;)

She has some really strong spells though. And it helps a beginner with attack and heal magic :D

  7. Well I started playing Shin Megami Tensei. I only played for about 30 minutes but I'm hooked. The ambient of the game is great for a Snes game. I like how you're in your house and the game music is all nice then you go out and everything is normal in the streets until a demon shows up. Great! I only have a pixie as an ally. Haven't done much yet. It's somewhat weird/scary and fun at the same time  The only thing I disliked is that when you're at the cafe or mall you only see people when you bump into them. But overall it's a great game.
