  1. Yay! TCP almost there. I will rewrite DSRemote to support TCP soon - v0.3.0 will include that. For now, enjoy an updated DSRemote v0.2.9b, along with a new shell for DSRemote (beta!)

  2. C'mon don't be so harsh on those that might not be so into coding as you are.

This person simply has a dream of streaming video/audio and although it might seem a bit unrealistic to those that have knowledge of the DS, I don't think that insulting the person is a solution. If you wanna be critical, be supportive, and don't go around "please don't be stupid"-ing people.

I respect what you do and what you have achieved sgstair, and I respect you for your knowledge of DS WiFi, but I ask you: please, don't be so arrogant towards others.

    Thanks.

  3. At last! A new version!

I'm finally getting the hang of the wifi_test_lib, 0.3.0 will be a major release!

Update v0.2.9: New functionality, better stability, makeover, some new developers-options (see the DSRemote for developers.txt), included a NDS-side app for use with DSRemote (included in.zip)

  4. Before the next release, I'm reviewing the functionality and will soon work with Bafio on a new release for both the DS and the PC.

Sorry to disappoint you all, for now I'd really like to refer you to the chat app of Bafio, follow his developments and eventually we will have a new DSRemote ready for you!

Thanks to all of you for helping, supporting and checking out my app!

    Cheers!

  5. Well, sorry, it won't work with ye common USB Wifi connector. You should use a PCI-card (so one that you have to build into your PC) with a Ralink RT2500 chipset on it.

There are many more with the same question, see the topic here, which probably will be able to help you.

  6. I've started working on a new version with many new changes, all from the philosophy of co-operation, and features for game- and app developers.

Await version 0.3.0 somewhere this week.

  7. Whoa... It's amazing to see how pointyremote has boomed DSWifi development, it rendered my app kind of useless in no-time. Still; what I'm working for is co-orperation. For each and every program we need different servers, re-configuring of the settings; wouldn't it be great if we could use one server to work with all the progs and on the DS side a program that facilitates file transfer, VNC, winamp remotes?

Ah well, let's see what the future brings. Thanks for all the support guys!

  8. I'm a n00b in DS development, but the custom DS client is being worked on, it was a bit of a bottleneck until now.

I am also working on DSRemote for developers, which will mean that it will be easy to keep (online) highscore tables, download them to your DS etc. etc.

  9. Damn, not again, that's the second time this week, costs me a lot of them phoenix down's...

You were in actual fact right about the error (and I'm someone who doesn't quickly admit someone's right).

So what was the problem? It was a tiny tinsy '-sign which I accidentally put in the code. *sigh*. Ah well, find the corrected version 0.2.5a :P in the beginning. Sorry everyone that is messed up this release B).

  10. I think there is a problem with the saving, I will look into it once I get home. For now, try deleting settings.ini, make a new settings.ini (empty, with about 10 enters) and try again :P.

  11. Updated DSRemote to version 0.2.5, solving some problems and adding a "minimize to tray on startup"-function (thanks for the idea RobM!).

I will now focus on creating a DS-side app and improved mail checking, so this will be the last release in a while.

    Enjoy!

  12. Have you downloaded the latest version 0.2.4, it has quick chat popup and message notification, much like msn messenger's? Make sure you have administrator rights.

  13. I think this is particular for your AP. I haven't encountered such behaviour... I am the writer of the program DSRemote, which sends a "Connection established" message when the program is started to the DS, this message is recieved fine without first sending another message, conclusion: your AP is acting weird.

  14. Hehehe, nope, it's important you extract the DSRemote.exe program to a directory or your desktop. Make sure that this location does not contain another settings.ini or delete this file. On startup you'll get a wizard asking for mail and connection settings. These settings will be saved and loaded everytime you start the program. You can always change these settings afterwards in the menu of DSRemote, once again these settings will be saved.

Tell me what you think about the tray and tray-popup function :).

  15. It is already saving DS IP, UDP PORT etc., in what respect do you mean saving connection settings?

Minimizing on startup will be included in the next main version, I was already thinking about this feature, I will get it done a.s.a.p.

Note the new version 0.2.4 by the way.

  16. I've released a new version of DSChat now named "DSRemote" (thanks to ryuryan for the name suggestion!), some new functions have been added, but many functions still don't work. Consider it as a pre-release.

Check out the first post for downloading :).

  17. Jup, you're certainly doing something wrong 8).

I had the same problem as well, quite frustrating. What might resolve it is in the UDP test program on the DS you should set up an other IP address for your DS than on the PC.

If for example your network adress on your pc is 192.168.1.189, you should change this in the settings screen to 192.168.1.190 (or another IP address that is not in use, make sure this IP address is free and configure it in DSChat). In the chat itself, change the target IP address back to 192.168.1.189.

That should work. If you still don't get it feel free to post/PM me!
