  1. Yeah the GeForce cards are great for TV Out, Ive got mine connected up to the main 28" set. Its great for films, and excellent for emulation.

The only drawback is you cant read text very clearly, Oh and make sure its GeForce 4 or FX because GeForce 3 doesnt do the whole twin view thing! (Wish id found out before i bought mine.)

  2. Havent actually played 98, its the only version i missed, 99 tops the lot for me because of the sheer number of moves and the wing play.

The thing that lets all EA sports games down though is that the more offensive play you have the more likely you are to score - this results in some truly pathetic goals, also the soft spots (where scoring is a certainty)

    Damn annoying in 2 player

  3. I think it may be that the programmers are so busy adding in extra options and in some cases support for extra games that they have no time left over to work on optomising the code for lower requirements.

Out of interest how many emulators are actually the finished object and require no further updating? The only ones I can think of are either still actually being worked on or are in this state because their authors have had enough and stopped working on their emulator.

  4. I think they only include the leagues from countries where they will shift lots of copies so they can claw back the money paid for the rights to that league.

Anyway FIFA 2003 has gotta be the worst interpretation since 2000 and FIFA 99 still rules although it looks ugly without 3dfx card.

But if you like football Championship Manager 4 should be released in 2 weeks or so - playing doesnt compare to manageing.

  5. And... I gotta say that since emulators dont cost anything the least users can do is be happy with what we're given, sure we can request extra bits and pieces but quibbling over resources is pushing things. If it works dont knock it, is what i was always taught!

  6. I dont understand the mechanics but surely youve answered your own question, if youre emulating a 300mhz processor then you need 300mhz to be that processor on top of the mhz required to actually emulate that processor, then youve got extra mhz required to emulate graphics chipset, sound chipset and any further chips and further mhz to translate the rom image. Thats got to add up to near requirements hasnt it, or am i way off mark and out of my depth?

But i do agree a dos emulator would require less resources and probably be a better product, the only drawback though is no quick 10 min sessions on (insert game here).

  7. Can anyone tell me the major advantages of having Win XP (excluding blue screen issues).

Im currently using Win ME and I dont get blue screens since I tried a new tweak. At the moment it appears Id lose my scanner (no XP driver) but gain a smarter interface and some extra fruit machine layouts. So Im looking for more advantages.

  8. well just had a look at your site - looks great although not all the pics are there (dunno if theyre supposed to be)

Anyway I noticed your e-mail is NTL, so Im wondering if you are using that website pack thing they have for download? and if you are using it, how hard is it to create a site?

  9. ok I have some more options for you

    1. Inside the folder which contains your mame32 executable ther is also a file called mame32.ini if you open this and scroll down to "### Input device options ###" and make sure it says "joystick 1".

Dont foret the file I am referring to is in the same folder as the mame32.exe and file - it is not part of 3darcade.

    2. Alternatively if you pm me your email address I can send you the mame.cfg file thats in my folder so u could use that.

    3. If all else fails, you could tell me the executable paths for mame and your mp3 files (on your pc) and I will set the thing up for you and email u the config files as a rar archive that oveerwrites your existing files.

  10. I had the same problem mine was because i use mame32 normally and the 3darcade uses mame anyways I cured it by editing the mame.cfg file which is in the mame folder (as opposed to the same file in the 3darcade folder) this file contains the default settings and towards the end there should be a line which starts "joystick =" this needs to be

    joystick = 1

Worked for me, let me know if it doesnt and ill rethink
