  1. lots of games have shitty endings

Well in this case, it was because the endings didnt justify all the work that was done up until then.

Bioware tugged too many strings this time, when you have franchise and promises like what they made i guess it becomes more than just "oh yeah it was good but the ending sucked," people wanted to see the tons of choices they made throughout the three games take effect.

Oh and I do remember someone from bioware stating during ME2, "you can switch love interests but for those who stick with thier previous one, you'll be greatly rewarded in ME3"(Super paraphrasing). Then when the whole love scene came and went, I was like, was that supposed to be my reward or something?

  2. DLC is embedded in stone, the online passes are still going some rough rough turbulence, hopefully it only becomes a rarity.

I mustve underestimated the damage business like GameStop do to these game companies.

Because I keep hearing this flack about preventing used game sales. I dunno their profit gain for each game release so i dont know if its true or not.

  3. Never bought any, never plan to. I also won't pay the sickening prices for games new these days either, $60-$70 a game? Screw that noise...

so u dont buy new games at all?

Define "new"...if you mean when they are first released, then no as I do not have the sheep mentality where I have to have it too. Probably helps that I don't care much for online play.

If you mean new as in unopened, yes I have bought games that are new and sealed, when they've hit a ~$20 price point.

The asking prices on new releases are absolutely disgusting.

NOw i never bought snes games when i was kid cuz my big bro bought them but doesn't the price scale the same as the dollar become less valuable(pulling out of a$$ btw) .But I agree with waiting on the price, the only thing is it sucks for those who want a game for online play. You kinda have to come in on it early otherwise mostly everyone will have learned all the tricks and you'll have to get used to getting destroyed....A LOT. I call it the MVC3 syndrome.

I do feel a certain obligation to pay 60 bucks for some games if it seems they put a lot of effort into it. same with movies. But pre-orders imo are dumb becuz im preordering something that i have no idea or a vague idea on how it will play. THat means, I visit red-box or blockbuster before buying.

  4. I'm not arguing whether or not the ending sucks, (it does). I'm asking will this petition actually work? I usually see petitions like these surface, and they end up getting the amount of signatures they need, and then nothing happens.

well the marvel vs cpacom partition seeme to went well, but then again i think capcom would have one that eventually anyway. But IMO, no- it wont work. Bioware has been pretty careful on making a official statement because they pretty much know that since aren't please with the day1dlc, that they have to respond very carefully.

My thought is even if they do give decent endings, it should be lackluster for ANYONE who hasnt played the game already through because you know that this was not the supposed canonical ending but something put together to please the fans. Just like in the death and return of Superman, you cant fix a bad ending once published, I think pple should just count their losses and not support it from here on.

  5. Just a suggestion, we could also place recent big news regarding games, animation, movies porn*cough* etc.

I know i just gave very broad topics but perhaps we could have better flow if someone posts stories that every other forum has going on.

There are some news that have yet to be posted on 1emu, but when I view my other 5 forums that i visit, this topic has been thoroughly discussed/debated and still going on. Either way I thought it would be cool to look at the front page and see more than "new emulator released". (and yeah i know the website is called 1emu)

I know we do our own thing but that was just a suggestion.

P.S. - It is possible that you already do this and i just miss it, if that is the case then please correct me.

  6. Here's the gist of the issue:

    FROM G4:

    http://www.g4tv.com/...nts-to-the-ftc/

    Sessler take on it:

    http://www.g4tv.com/...sslers-soapbox/

    - -- - - - IF you already know about it then you can skip to here.-------

So the ending of ME3 has been vicious for a while now! Now I've NEVER seen such hate for an ending that people would gather up and demand change for it from Bioware/EA. I've played TONS of great games with underwhelming endings and i'm like, "man that ending sucked but it was a good game" but for some reason, this game is an exception.

So im sure many have played but after seeing the ending Im not really to hard on the ending but perhaps someone can explain thier take for those who are NOT happy with the ending. Why is is such a big heartache? Either way...

    THIS IS NOT THE WAY....

  7. you're starting to get it Shoma.

    Its a rip off man.

I think you're from the generation of DLC - but you smell a turd!

Fight the good fight, your young and capable.

Im not sure about the genration of dlc, lol.

I grew up with the good ol sega genisis and snes back when i was young but I remember (around 15) gaming struck a new plateu when online became common, ergo XBL.

Maybe that makes me the dlc generation, if so i didnt know ^^

  8. Whoa Ems, lol! Caught me by surprise with that one.

I do think though there wasnt enough people who stood up against when it was new, which actually was around the xbox1 later days. But then i remember paying 350 points for three whole maps, and i mean detailed stuff. Dlc wasnt so crazy back then though.

We're living the console patch era where we share the same pain of PC gamers who have to wait for a few patches for the game to work like it should, except we cant edit the game like they can(All con no pro).

Secondly "game journalists" say games cost more money to make so with that and the used game industry(like GameStop) other methods must be pushed to ensure that high profit is made. ut dlc will still stand strong cuz ther ae pple like my friend who must have the new "AMOR PACK" for his game and Im like, "I guess..."

There has also been strong conversations regarding raising the standard price of games to help this issue, which make you classic $60 now 70$. If that's so, would we still have special editions or would that make the special edition $80? lol

  9. Okay so my thoughts on the whole matter is, I dont mind paying dlc so long as its extra content.

The only reason I( A ME fan) would be bothered would be a Prothean mission, is not really something that seems extra but vital to a story that spoke of the protheans ever since the FIRST game. SO when they say it was made AFTER the game, i kinda raise my eyebrow. But if this was supposedly dlc then i guess I'm not bothered by it.

I REALLY dont care about the ME3 incident too much but i do fear for the future, as i can see where this can go...easily.

  10. So with ME3 out, Im sure we all heard about the day1 dlc that was waiting for any customer who didn't buy the collector's edition. As expected this caused an slight uproar from ME fans who felt the dlc was very vital part of the story and felt cheated by having to pay for something should have been part of the game.

I'll exclude the dlc summary for now but will intrigue those if they are curious. Now the starting argument to support this or at least defend the Day1 DLC is EA is a business and all businesses want to make money- period, and are free to charge dlc however they want.

    Does this justify it?

But to get off EA we've got newly released street fighter X Tekken which is confirmed have DLC already imprinted unto the disc itself (this is not new stuff here btw) but these hints can easily point you to idea that you will pay for something that is already on the disc. IMO I see what they're going for, Day1 DLc is meant to capitalize on faithful gamers who purchase limited editions and what not. But I miss the days where we paid for whatever was on the disc and nothing more.

Are we approaching the era where DLC will be close to mandatory to have a full experience of a game? If so will increasing the price help? Or are the people who sell these games just being greedy? WHat do you guys think?

  11. I really dont care a whole lot for the horde co-op gameplay. I just wanted to do single player type missions with my friends. I thought it would be its own separate story like with splintercell co-op.

YO Skythe lemme know what you think of the MP.

UPdate: Even with new enemies, I was never the horde fan, but I dont see this holding water very long after game is launched.

  12. Well as far as ME2 and ME3(the little that ive seen) they're pretty identical at first glance.Well mainly because it is, there are tweaks in the game play. For the most part however if you played in ME2, it will feel like 2nd nature on ME3. ITs more like they decided to merely build upon me2.

    Movement:

They're the same aside from a few new features like climbing up and down on ladders. ALso they intorduced a new long jump feature for over gaps while running. HOWEVER it seems if you walk to the edge, you cant fall so its kinda pointless. I DID notice a little Gears of War syndrome when in cover.Cover is a lot less safe which forces you to take action. Its kinda hassle to get detached from the wall while under-pressure, you some times run into cover when getting even a little close to a wall while storming.

    Dialog:

Now for some reason, we didn't have much of this. I saw nothing groundbreaking like when they introduced the interruption sequence in ME2(that wasn't in ME1 for those who don't know). The demo's dialog was neutral as no matter if i was a douche or a saint, the game played out the same so i cant really speak so much on that as not much was given in the demo.

    Fights:

This is where the identical parts comes in. The action is about the same as for as battles. I did notice they made the guns feel much more powerful in ME3. The team and powers setup are exactly the same. You'll hardly feel like its a new game which is probably a good or bad thing.

    Explorer:

    Not shown in demo

    Leveling up:

Leveling looks the same, aside from having the 2way choice at the very end of each power, you can make those choices from level 3 to the max.

    Customize:

SO this aspect did in fact pimp-slap ME2, for this one. The guns can be messed around with a little bit.In the coop you could also certain type of rounds. i assume that will on the campaign as well.

    Romance:

    Not shown in Demo

I'm sure i said more than you wanted to hear but if I overlooked something let me know.

  13. GAME: Mass Effect 3 (DEMO)

    Mass-Effect-3.jpg

    Systems: PC, PS3, Xbox360

Soooooo yeeeeah.... The demo came out today and if you didn't know please get up from the rock you've been under and smell the sweet smell of ME3... However... I expected a fresher smell. Btw I'm reviewing based on the Xbox360 version.

    Single Player:

I played the single player session and found that part to be underwhelming.

First off the game is set into 3 different types, Action, RolePlay, and Story.

The first being COD style, an what do i mean by that? Well all the cut-scenes and conversations can be skipped and - I love this- you don't make any dialog choices because the game will do all that for you! Gotta love the new-age RIG theses days. The second being "standard" ME experience which seems fairly true. AS for story... it's just roleplay but a lot easier(??).

You'll also notice quite a few set pieces in the first map but i guess that's fine. Now MIND YOU, all of these different styles are changeable in the settings menu so I'm sure they wont ask us what style we wish to play in the real deal. hopefully.

Half the demo you are on Earth with a pistol and an assault rifle and fighting off new fat Geth who pretty much just walk to you while shooting,

The second part, you're dealing with human armored dudes and they perform the usual shoot and cover stuff. I was hoping some aliens to mix it up but i chalk that up to bad decision making on the demo.

THe action is there! The intensity, the way the guns feels when shot. It all feels awesome! The graphics are beautiful and there are some slight audio sync issues i ran it during the talks but these were glitches. Everything is smooth for the most part and did i mentions how nice it feels to get a head shot in this game. ANd don't get me started on the BIonic Charge

    MultiPlayer:

The multi-player is basically horde mode for M.E. You fight wave, after wave, and if you lose your health(incapacitated) a friend can heal you. But if you dot get revived up in time you die. Also the enemy can curb stomp which kills instantly(GOW type thing). The slight difference is you will occasionally have to hack a few terminals during a wave or kill a certain group of enemies in a time-frame but the latter makes the horde mode seem sillier to me.You can level up just like in single player although from what i saw, they gyve you five or six powers(four are usally used for the ammo change, grenade power and the passive things like "Fitness" and "training" powers and you just keep upgrading those powers. This caused me to raise an eyebrow, especially on the campaign( which does provide slightly more to work with, by giving you about seven or eight powers to upgrade) since they stated they were gonna address the concern for the game being more shooter than rpg--- I didn't see that addressed at all.

Bottom line is it fun?... Well yea..kinda. The single player was dull because everyone did the same, duck, cover, and shoot. It would have been better to demo Shepard fighting some Krogan or Asarians who usually posses powers and specific attack patterns. Other than that, it was standard cover action.

The coop/horde was really fun with friends who know what they're doing. It becomes thrilling but i guess i feel a little empty due to my expectation of thinking the coop would be Single-player-like missions but with friends. Instead we're on this one map that doesn't expand and we fight until we die..... Doesn't fit right at all for a ME game. But i will keep playing it and I'll see if my seemingly negative opinion changes, but there isn't much left to do but level up on coop now.

If it does i will love to come back on and retract my statements. Keep in mind, so far the game does not seem bad, and i'm still gonna get it, its just a franchise like ME- if you're gonna go with a demo, then go hard.

Plz comment an lemme know what ya think.
