    trying to give something back

    idd been thinking recently about what i can give back to the emulation scene since all idd been doing was taking

    you know gettin the latest emu releases and just thankin the devs who make it happen

     

    well since i dont have the skills to be a help tech wise ive been trying to help in other ways

    ive been promoting final burn legends and this website massively on digital spy

     

    which is the uks biggest mainstream boards hopefully that will bring in some new blood to

    the scene and give the devs who work so hard to make this happen some wider recognition

     

    so just want to ask other normal users like me what have you done for the emu scene recently

    a trusty upgrade guide for noobs

    theres been alot of talk about trustys upgrades on several topics recently ive heard about these upgrades but dont know

    the main reasons for getting one plus any downsides to this upgrade

     

    can anyone who knows more about this or actually has a trusty box please provide some more info about this

    or at least a link to somewhere we trusty noobs can find out more

    i would never say anything against the mame dev teams because without their hard work and dedication (all unpaid i understand)

    we wouldnt have half the fun we do playing our old arcade favourites

     

    but do you ever wish that maybe they had spent less time on the mahjongs and other less special games and maybe a bit more on one of your favorites

    so it would be working in mame currently

     

    i would say demon front got any games you would like to have seen emulated by now

     

    oh and if your a huge mahjong fan then my apologys for talking your game down :peopleseybrow:

    im running R7 mk mk2 narc nba jam nba jamte are fast with sound dont know if any faster or not

    all other midways are in mame0.84 and some will have same old problems ie rampage world tour

     

    as far as i know virtua fighter runs way to slow to be playable

    Chihiro arcade games running on 128mb ram modded Xboxes.

    Trusty is actually from China and postage is much less than you'd expect. Also, once you see the amount of work he does on the upgraded board, you'll be shocked at how little you paid. Seriously.

     

    The only way this works out is because China's exchange rate is so low. The dollar (or the Euro or Pound) will go very far there. Otherwise it wouldn't be work.

     

    As far as I know, Trusty is the only person who ever did this sort of thing. Although, I think some company did this when the Xbox was first out as some sort of promotion. I'm not sure if they were ever sold commercially though.

     

    Just to bring this back to topic, for Chihiro games, it sounds like the 128 upgrade alone will do it - so you don't necessarily need the CPU upgrade. I think that the RAM upgrade alone was very inexpensive - far less expensive than I remember people charging for them in the States.

     

     

    trustys from the usa might be pricey for the upgrade plus postage heard of anyone in the uk who would have the skill to do it

     

     

    Trusty is actually in China so it could be cheaper on shipping if your in the UK. haha Phil, beat me by seconds there.

    did BP updated the psx core to reloaded in this released or still the same? :D

    i only use coinops for arcade games only i strip everything else out

    so dont know about the psxcore.xbe maybe someone else on here can answer

    Ok, dusted off the old LightGun today to test VCop 3, thats another story.

    Anywho decided to give FBL 1.5 a blast with the few lightgun games it does support.

    Everything seems ok except i cant configure the lightgun within the emulator itself.

    I see an option to speed up the cursor but that doesnt help with guns at all.

    The onscreen reticle seems to lag behind the gun movements, badly, like about 6ins behind.

    To move the reticle to the top of the screen i have to the top of the screen and wait 2 seconds for the reticle to catch up.

    What im asking for is a gun calibration screen for FBL 1.6.

    ie:- top left, top right, bottom left and bottom right with the ability to adjust the speed of the reticle/cursor.

    These games play brilliantly but the reticle/cursor lagging behind makes them unplayable with a lightgun.

    Lets be honest, they were designed to be played with a lightgun.

    I know its not a priority of yours but if i dont ask you wont look at it.

    Lots of sources out there for this kind of thing.

    being a bit lazy i know but anyone want to say what lightgun games work on FBL

    am running zero point rail chase and operation wolf know off any others i could add

    tried zero point 2 out of memory tried line of fire but only fires rockets gun isnt mapped to game and now wont load in FBL 1.5 anyway

    yeh another update i only swap over the xbe files saves alot off work dont know why BP doesnt release a update light version

    smaller download plus wont have loads of files i dont need

    cant get kov2p to work i know why every version ive got is missing a key file kov2p_igs027a.bin any advice anyone

    you should never answer yourself 1st sign of madness they say well im gonna

    just want say dont need help any more noticed one my roms had kov2p asic file so took a gamble renamed it kov2p_igs027a.bin

    on my pc and it worked a treat
