This is an incredible piece of work Nes, and there is so much room for customisation I love it
BTW, if you wanna some help to add or fix some more VMM games just let me know. I'm 200% motivated, maybe more. Moooooooooooooooo!I realise that this is a selfish request, but if kenshiro you could fix the VMM for martial masters or knights of valor 2, I would give you all of the small kisses you could ever need!
I think they have a real chance of being somewhat playable on a 1.4ghz 128mb xboxAs far as feature requests from Nes, I cannot really think of any, this all looks amazing. Maybe have an optional button you can press in the GUI to load coinOPS? If coinOPS did the same for FBA Legends then it would be brilliant for people with cabinets (not that I have one, it's just a thought I had)..
anyway, thanks for all the hard work from Nes, and anyone else involved with this

trusty is a member at xbox scene, you need to pm him and he'll send you a quote for an upgraded motherboard (he doesnt sell a whole xbox, the postage would be INSANE from china).
As for why you'd want the upgrade, it gives better performace in emulators (I only have a 1ghz 256kb cache 128mb box atm, and it already runs games that wont usually load in coinops, gives much better framerates in other games, especially in coinops, pcsxbox and surreal 64. another good example is that everything runs perfectly in fbaxxx-pro 1.28 in 720p with software filters on, and there are no stutters in cpx3).
this new upgrade should be the same, but even better. trusty has also posted screencaps of it running HD 720p content in xbmc properly (although it is still not good enough for 720p .mkv files)

Just a heads up, trusty (from xbox scene) can now upgrade the xbox cpu to a 1.4 ghz 512kb cache P3. While its a few mhz slower than the dreamx 1480, it has twice the cache, so this should be the fastest xbox yet!
I won't put the price here since its unfair on him, but I think its a steal (especially since he does the 128mb ram upgrade at the same time). I've already had an older upgraded xbox from him, and it arrived promptly and still works perfectly.
I ordered 1 today, and I feel VERY sorry for anyone who bought a dreamx 1480 in recent times (I've read about people spending $1000+ for them

ah i hadnt realised it was just a quick build for specific needs, just read that there was a new coinops of some sort and wanted to try it out, guess i jumped the gun reporting "problems" with it haha

yep, any drive from any xbox can be swapped with each other, and work perfectly. since a preowned xbox is so cheap now id just buy one and keep the rest for spares, or make a dvdless minibox or something.. probably cheaper than having a dvd drive posted to you anyway

orite, thats a shame (not that I even have a vertical setup
)the other thing I noticed is that I just got a black screen when I tried this build on my hdtv through component cables, although the games would still boot and everything, just had to navigate the menus blind. That really might be my tv though, its insane lol (sometimes it likes to cut off half the screen, or have rolling lines across everything etc.

hey BP, i just tried this out (curiosity really), might be my tv, but it seems like some games rotate the wrong way! (sonic 3d and golden axe 2, are the ones i tested) although other games rotated the correct way.
I hope there will at some point be a way to play Riot without straining my neck though!
I am excited about the possibilities if you are still working on a massive CoinOPS XBMC merger thing.. will it be possible to support custom soundtrack playing INGAME by any chance? I realise that might be really hard to do, but that would be just about the best feature EVER
.. I understand if its impossible to do though. -
thats cool, i'd love to have a go at making a vertical setup (I think il need to learn to do a vga mod first tho, i wouldnt trust a crt tv tipped on its side

Just wanted to say thanks to BP and IQ (and anyone else?).
All the video previews and such give a really awesome effect, I'm spending a long time in the menus atm, just looking at all the games!
I hope there will be more updates at some point down the line.
@ BP, If you've sorted out adding extra cores, have you contacted elsemi about cpx3 & whoever made the best version of the killer instinct emu? It would be amazing to have all the arcade emulation on xbox in one place, with 1 great looking menu!

I remember I couldn't get anything to lock for my mates xbox before, so frusrated, I just stuck the HDD in the xbox after the locking claimed to have failed, and it worked and HAD locked the drive, so try that.

Less than stellar attitutes from both sides I'm sure.
To be honest though, BP actually has the knowlage and the skills to develop an XBOX emulator, and this is an XBOX emulator forum, so if he wants to get respect thats fair enough as far as im concerned.
Other people have just looked a gift horse in the mouth.

It's a shame, but mr driller runs on much faster hardware than even the tekken games
works great in pcsxbox though if you just want it on your xbox

I wouldn't sweat the small stuff like the GUI, it wasn't bad at all, your work is great. You have great skinners here you could utilize, the emu itself is great. It doesn't seem much for you to just whip something up in a week or two. I just think with kenshiro's work on FBA and BP's work on CoinOPS, and his new direction that continues to evolve it. It would be great if BP's mame roms were in Kenshiro's FBA and your hand into completing the saga drivers would be nice. Instead of three different projects working around the same idea of having the same roms emulated. I think Kenshiro's work on FBA with everything separated, cp1-2, neo-geo and with BP's mame and future snes, n64 in it would be (my dream emulator) just triggering the emu I want. Possible... probably not, for whatever reason. Just seems you want more of a challenge, that would be it. Cant forget iq_132 for all he's done as well.
Just my 2p lol; I think theres the perfect amount of collaberation at the moment. New stuff is getting released all the time, whilst choice is being preserved for the xbox users. One big project would probably do a lot of things fairly well, but I'd rather have several specialised projects doing a few things each VERY well. You can always skin everything the same yourself afterwards if you want a uniform xbox anyways..

I got this far, then couldn't be bothered to replace any fonts or anything, I think this is better than the standard theme though.
Got the music to work aswell!
If you add both the screenshots AND the background music, then the music will skip a tiny bit when loading the screenshot (this is unavoidable
, I have at least minimized it by compressing the shit out of the screenshots tho )Looks best on a widescreen TV

, i must seem like 'that annoying little kid' everyone knows I've tested now though, and both evolution soccer and crystal kings work well enough (35ish fps in game in 720p with sound enabled) on my trusty-xbox. Its the only one I have so I can't test performance for 733mhz 64mb
but it can't be that far behind? (since nothing else seems that far ahead on this xbox ) -

Forget kawaks, you want to use 'CoinOPS reignite' or 'Final Burn Legends'.
It's against the rules of 1emulation for me to tell you where to get 'The King of Fighters 2003' rom from though...
Once you do have it, just put it in the roms folder of the emulator you chose (along with 'neogeo.zip' - the bios roms).
