  1. What's the output of the NullDC text window? There's a way to have NullDC output a logfile when launched from the cli, but I forgot how to do that. It's been a couple years since I've used it.

    Okay, I found it.

To dump a log, run nullDC from the command-line with the following parameters. "nulldc >gamename-log.txt 2>&1"

    nullDC_Win32_Release-NoTrace.exe >gamename-log.txt 2>&1

If simply updating to the latest nullDC 1.0.4 revision doesn't work, you can sumbit the log to their bug tracker, and the issue may eventually get fixed.

  2. Women tend to use sex (unless you have a great partner then good for you man i wish i did) as a weapon to keep us obedient that's what they used to do.

They are fufilling their evolutionary roles trying to secure a stable, providing mate. I wouldn't call unreasonable for a woman to try to keep you faithful, or not to throw away her only biological bargaining chip for free. I wouldn't even call it uncalled for that they may lead some men around by their dicks just because they can for fun. If men know how badly marriages can end for themselves, financially or other wise, why do they still do it? That's biology for you.

Now they cant and men are becoming a lot more independent.

I disagree. Women have been becoming more, and more, independent from relying on partners/mates to secure financial, and familial, stability. With women (in 1st world countries) securing higher, and higher, paychecks, and on average getting better college educations, they're now putting themselves in sociologically unique positions where they can go for pure physical relationships. A sexual liberation of sorts that will continue to grow until more areas around the world are somewhat neutral/equal concerning financial status availability across sexes.

    It's personal.

Why would their sexual inclinations which are predicated by biological, and environmental, factors bother you? It's not like they choose to be gay any more than a straight person wakes up one day, and decides "hey, I think I'll choose to be hetero".

  3. Hi all. I just thought I'd pass on this Nintendo (not Microsoft) news in the most relevant section here. The NDS was backwards compatible and all with the GBA.

The awesome people at Rare Ware Central have shared a Banjo Kazooie: Grunty’s Revenge Debug ROM and a Diddy Kong Pilot ROM (that was later released as Banjo Pilot).

Of course, Google is your friend.

  4. As for XBMC, as far as I know CoinOPS does not currently use any code from it but BP has been talking for years about making a some kind of CoinOPS/XBMC hybrid. If this happens he will also be required to release the source under the XBMC license.

All BP has done is made improvements to the MAME sources, and that's it. He'd like to take credit for the other emulators, but that's simply not true. He blatantly ignores not only the GPL, but the unwritten rules of the Xbox scene with no respect to anyone's work he has included in his bastard amalgamation of emulators. Now he has the arrogance to include Xbmc4xbox in his releases...

It's like if someone went and modified a pre-existing OS (not even their own) like Windows, bundled a bunch of non-free proprietary software with it, and didn't let people pick and choose what they could install/remove in it. He must be suffering from some type of narcissistic disorder coupled with a few neuroses.

Some guys will also distribute full versions of FBLegends and nobody will cry about it.

Well, those are end users, and not the devs working on the emulator. Big difference...

My personal opinion of CoinOPS has no bearing on the fact that this is not a warez forum.

Really...? Someone should tell the unnamed few posters who continue to blatantly disregard the linking rules here.

i don't know it the doom2.xbe is actually a doom ripped from a xbox game or the homebrew one. i know doom has been in coinops for awhile now but i don't get it as i'm not into that game.

the xbmc stuff skin is PMIII, i don't know if this falls into share the source area. there are some dll files and a linksbrowser folder. don't know.

when it comes to locks, maybe ace can confirm if they are in it this time around. i think they were taken out due to bp has gone a different direction with coinops3. he's decided to seperate arcade & consoles. it's now "your" choice to have either or both. [ironic] :)

i'm just posting what i see so far... your choice of using coinops 3 or not.

Capcom vs SNK 2, Doom 2, Street Fighter 3 (I have online PSN version), and others are all still being sold by their IP owners. There is absolutely no reason you couldn't buy the Doom collection pack through STEAM, or those various arcade compilation packs he ripped through XBLA, or the PSN.

All in all, he's breaking so many laws it's apparent he doesn't care about any legality let alone respecting his fellow Xbox coder's hard work.

  5. Updated Board Rules: June 19, 2005

    1. DO NOT ask where to download WAREZ, ROMs, ISOs, CHDs or BIOSes

    2. DO NOT provide direct links to WAREZ, ROMs, ISOs, CHDs or BIOSes.

    3. DO NOT provide links to websites that link to WAREZ, ROMs, ISOs, CHDs or BIOSes.

I don't get it. Is this a warez site, or not? People openly asking for PMs, providing links, etc...

Hey I'm all for a revision of the current ridiculous copyright laws, but the only matter of contention is how long a product is protected under the laws. The reasons they exist is perfectly valid, but 75+ years is just asinine.

If you can at least admit that this is a warez site, I'd actually understand some of the members behavior. On the other hand there are sites that have the decency to not allow "current" games to be shared. People who torrent, or otherwise download, current music - current movies - PS3 - Xbox360 - Wii - NDS - or 3DS games are obviously douche-bags of the lowest character. Just remember that those NES games you picked up from Ebay, or a local yard-sale, were manufactured and sold over 20 years ago. This game is being sold now with the price of manufacturing, and distributing a cartridge.

In case you're (anybody) some dumb teenager who doesn't remember, the reason games made the switch from cartridge to discs was one of manufacturing costs coupled with memory size limits. Remember the runner up in the N64 vs PSX battle? It was decided by Nintendo's adherence to the cartridge. Sony won.

  6. Back on topic, the GPL issue is a sticky one since it's rarely adhered to in the Xbox scene. I guess developers figure that, since developing software for the Xbox using the XDK is illegal to start with, the GPL doesn't matter too much. I don't know enough about it so I don't have an opinion on that one way or the other but it's interesting that many Xbox developers have taken this view.

I don't see why that's the case. They are completely separate issues. The SDK stuff is the reason why binaries are only uploaded anonymously to some obscure irc. Devs should continue to follow the same rules as everyone else. If BP does indeed include ScummVM in the next release of his, and it's been modified to interface with his frontend, I'd demand the full source code to any changes made to ScummVM (and by proxy the rest of his emulator + gui). Failure to do so would be blatantly dismissing the concept of OPEN source, the programming community, and the LAWS surrounding the issue.

If the GPL isn't followed, why all the hub-bub about closed source, open source, or even crediting people?

its all ready in R2 :) you just dont know how to enable hehehehe get over it....you guys talk such shit

If you're referring to ScummVM, that's very unfortunate. If you call yourself breaking the law, and insulting an entire community of programmers who conducts themselves properly shit talking, that is also unfortunate.

If I see any hint of ScummVM in your next version, I'll notify the proper ScummVM team leaders, and let them take action (if any) from there.

  7. When you say illegally

    You mean _______________?

    1. Well besides the use of the Microsoft SDK, and proprietary headers. We can all agree this is why binary/package only releases should remain the way it is now... The endorsment a complete package (scummvm is not to be distributed with games).

    2. And most importantly of all, the GPL.

Not including, and adhering to, the GPL license is pretty serious. Assuming they knew who was modifying, and distributing it, they could follow legal proceedings against so said party.

There is also the issue of linking GPL apps to non-GPL apps, or libraries. If the source was modified in any way to interface with CoinOPS, that could also potentially open up CoinOPS itself to being in violation of a blanket GPL license as well.

  8. How about A600? If SCUMMVM 1.3.0 is in the next release of COINOPS he ported this...probs some other stuff too.

While A600 probably did extra features for the Xbox, I hardly call compiling an open source project enough to take credit. All credit for the ScummVM compatible games goes purely to the ScummVM Team, no one else.

Also, I know for a fact that they would not want their honorable project being besmirched by it being illegally included in CoinOPS.

  9. Hmm quite right, and even though I think $30 is absolutely hilariously ridiculous(As with the price of anything on that site)...nevertheless, link removed.

Maybe. It is shipped as a original cartridge, for the actual system. I'm not sure how much all the parts for building an nes cartridge would cost for a small operation.

How did the first post link get fixed?

Perhaps you'd like to tell Sivak over at his offical BK Romhacking.net thread how much everyone is enjoying the romdump?

  10. ...

    Best of luck guys

Very informative, thanks. I was just wondering if credit was being given, where credit was due. That and, I was wondering if I should migrate away from any outdated standalone emulator releases for a possibly more updated version of any said emulators.

Best of luck in your continued crusade to create the most mega, or extreme, Xbox 1 project ever. :) I can't imagine you get much sleep.

  11. Can anyone tell me what the underlying engines in CoinOPS are?

Does it simply package the likes of Surreal64, Pcsxbox, Neogenesis, Final Burn Legends, MAMEoX, etc. under one GUI?

Or are the built from the ground up, from scratch? If they are the former, have they been modified?

Like for instance, if Pcsxbox is the engine running PSX games, has it been modified for bug fixes, or speed increases? Has Surreal been modified for speed increases, or compatibility?

I understand there's no license like the GPL on an offical SDK, but some documentation would be nice. Can I find docs on this somewhere?

  12. How about a separate, differing from the CPS2, Final Burn Legends core for the Neo-Geo sets?

Why use a FBL Neo-Geo core? Improved emulation, and possible bug fixes, that were introduced after MAME .084.

  13. Okay. I think I'm beginning to understand what roms it uses.

CoinOPS MAMEoX core = MAME 084

CoinOPS FinalBurnLegends core = MAME 0139

    General Results:

    - The CPS2 roms built to the MAME 084 set will play in the MAMEoX core, and the FBL core unless there were rom additions/revisions.

    - The CPS2 roms built to the MAME 0139 set will play in the FBL core, but not (at all) in the MAMEoX core.

    Specific Results:

    - X-Men Vs Street Fighter plays in the MAMEoX core, but not the FBL core. This is unfortunate as the FBL core is now enabled by default.

    - The other CPS2 games stopped functioning, when I disabled the FBL core, as I had them built as MAME 0139. A rebuild as MAME 084 remedied this, and it is apparently the most compatible setting.

This was mostly due to XOR table roms being used for decryption means, which were removed in later MAME revisions as the emulation was corrected. For instance, the Marvel Super Heroes XOR rom 'mshex.03e' was removed in later versions, and so were the other XOR roms found in the form of '*x.*'.

Sounds like the full package is for you :)

I have bandwidth issues. Not to mention, I'd like to have some free space on my HDD for my XBMC stuff, but thanks. :(

So I take it then that there is no specific memory setting that can correct the opengolf.zip error?

  14. it seems that version of the game is not emulated in mame 0.84,just had a quick look on maws.

i am assuming you tried turning on the vmm in the advanced settings?

there is another version of the game which seems to be playable but has wonky graphics.

Sorry, the link was messed up. http://maws.mameworld.info/maws/romset/opengolf

It says it was added in version ".082u1", and that it's the parent set. I'm using non-merged sets. I was trying to keep parent sets only, unless the parent wasn't in English.

I was hoping someone might know a memory setting that could be added into the "vm.txt". I tried a few times, but while the number of bytes listed in the error changed, I couldn't find a working setting through trial-and-error.

On another note, I'm having errors with X-Men Vs Street Fighter too.

The parent set (xmvsf) gives me a "rom error: unable to load rom" message, and the US version (xmvsfu) gives me a "malloc: out of memory" message as well.

This particular game works in Final Burn Legends 1.3, and so do a few other games that don't in CoinOPS. (IE; Marvel Super Heroes -> Non-Asia Versions)

Can I assume that CoinOPS doesn't use the same rom-sets for CPS2 games as FBL?

  15. Could you add a CLRMAMEPRO dat generator?

It'd be awesome if it had options to create a pure MAMEoX (modified 0.84) dat, and a mixed MAMEoX + FBA dat (for FBA supported CPS2 games) dat.

  16. Bigby....ask cba madmab its impossible.....ive seen many reports of you guys telling me its impossible.. and all I think it one of them codes and doesnt know the xdk at all...one of them is a complete newbe and doesnt know anything......even when you find info that it is possible like I said 6 months ago and 2 years before that to your team....just read the xdk and get your people to learn they miss so much stuff thats done for them....and stop making me think you guys are a bunch of hacks that wont listen....

Was this directed at the Final Burn question, or another poster?

Does CoinOPS use the same core as latest Final Burn Legends (for Xbox)? If so I'll just rebuild the CPS2 roms with it's generated dat.

all questions you talk about UsaidIt are fixed in CoinOPS EPIC full...you need the correct roms/dats U said it....you are using versions with issues ill report more later ( gaun22p1 and gauntr9 are working without looping)

Yeah, sorry about that. I found the working versions by either rebuilding as non-merged, or split, sets.
