I am interested in the new GUI BP will put in place.
If its based on XBMC code,
then i think its along the lines of what i would have liked to have seen a long time ago.
It offers far more scope for presenting the roms and artwork/video.
Should prove very interesting with a modern look.
We shall see.

What was actually said was you souldn't release your "personal build" that actually contained everyone elses work.
Nothing at all to do with a showcase at all, you seem to be missing a lot of everyday skills.
Then you wonder why nobody wants to help you or submitted any designs for your GUI.
Although i can understand why no-one has submitted anything.
Oh, why do i bother ?

Did that mod with a Vantec stealth 3 yrs ago approx, with and without the 12v mod.
Without the 12v mod it was quieter, for a while.
After the 12v mod my motherboard lasted about a week.
I now run all my xboxes on what fans they are manufactured with.
So in conclusion we can summise that.
A- I can't of done the 12v mod properly.
B- I did do the 12v mod properly but its not healthy for the board.
So its up to you !

The simple answer ad20 is, use both but for different reasons.
Build rom sets for both and test them yourself, you will find each emulator
supports slightly different sets with differing results.
This way you can be the judge of what "you" like and not have someone
else tell you what "you" like.

lol, those Guns look, risky, at best. However you did get a free Remote.
Or was it buy the Remote and get 2 dodgy Guns free ?
They look nasty, if you are interested in LightGuns for Xbox/PC games or emulators then
the EMS LCD TopGun is a good piece of kit. Works with HDTV's and on PC's.
Works with any emulator thats Gun compatible.

Good point. Its a shame cause most people who port are PC fans at heart.
Then there is the limiting factor of whether they have invested in a LightGun.
If not, no interest in LightGun code seems to be the norm.
The irony is Guns, Steering Wheels etc. are what the Arcade feeling is all about.
Not just rows and rows and rows of button bashing Street Fighter clones.

Tried it last year on PSX Games on Xbox but with no joy.
However the emulators themselves are a little shaky so i never tried very hard.
Shame as there are some good PSX Gun games.

Correct, Sega do (did) make the best (accurate) Guns.
I have the official DreamCast Gun which looks like something outta Halo.
Still its very accurate. I also use rumble packs in them.
Also agree the Saturn Gun was unbelievably accurate.
The Beretta 92 Gun for xbox is the best quality peripheral ive ever seen.
£45 each though. I bought 2 just for House of the Dead and emulators but alas my SDTV died
so i now have the LCD TopGun (Beretta rip off, but ok) and a spunky HD Tv.

Not really my field that one, wouldnt try to splice any wires if i were you,
perhaps there is a converter, im sure there is.

I need to find out how many types of LightGun are used for emulation or gameplay on the original Xbox.
I understand that there are a lot of different brands.
This can lead to problems with emulators (more often) due to button layouts.
Then there are the type of gun, i mean Flash type or Infared guided ones.
The Flash type of Gun won't work with LCD or Plasma type TV's.
As probably a lot of users have found out.
To compound things further there are adapters allowing the use of peripherals from other machines.
So all in all a mixed bag of possibilities. Some have the right buttons some don't.
So if you wish to offer information use the example of mine below.
Gun = EMS LCD TopGun
Type = Infared guided
System = Xbox
Buttons = Start, Back,Thumbstick, A, B.

Figured I would respond here for these readers as well
The adapter looks the same as mine. I have had a few bad come and can tell you this is a possibility. The merchant exchanges no hassle so you can contact them and they will send you another within the week to replace it if it is bad. I have bought 50 or so from them and they exchange with me no problem. free of charge
but isolate the possibilities first.
check your jumper settings on your dvd drive. Those adapters go heavy for primary settings. try cable select and slave settings on the dvd drive.
Some times an 80pin ide cable helps to. Sata is use to pushing data alot faster than ide so this could only help it.
try running with the lid off. sometimes the top messes with the power adapter.
Could you post a diagram of where the jumper pins are on a "DVD drive" for "xbox" ?
You are aware that the lid is part of the shielding ? Your xbox will get very hot quickly, despite software efforts to cool it.
Run it like this and it may burn out in minutes or a few hours.
Didn't bother reading anymore but im sure the rest of the comments are good advice also.

cba you are quick to hand out your opinion quick but can you take it as well as you can give it out.
You also have an over confidence in your own ability the only skill you have is making videos which is a worthless space consuming feature that really has nothing at all to do with xbox. Period.
Your team knows this they just dont say nothing because they are pimping you for videos. No one says anything because they dont want to hurt your feelings. I say this to give you a reality check. Truth is the xtra's are all madmab and gilles your the lacky doing grunt and secretary work that anyone can do there is no real skills required dont feel bad you are not the only one involved in that project that has that lacky title.

You are quick to say shit to BP and quicker to beg for his help. Your problem is because you have no coding skills you cant put things in the emulator you want and you get mad because he wont do it for you. Do I need to post some examples to prove this?
I bet you buy cars like you prefer your emulators (if you are old enough because the way you sound I figure your no older than 12 tops) You buy them because they look cool not because what is under the hood or the way it drives.

I do videos for me, no-one else. I make skins for me no-one else.
All my videos and skins work well and all, i repeat "ALL" out perform anything out there. Period !
Didn't notice anyone adding video intro or splash video to any emulator (recently Gilou/Giles made one).
So i must be the only one. Thats the difference between your lot and myself. Im a experimentalist, im doing things with basic skin engines that no-one is or can do. All by hand too, no programs just a paintshop.
@BP Good job i didnt see the comments about my young son before you edited them, trust me, i would have come for you cunt.

I think your right, Xbox builds are now the bottom of the attention tree.

The spinning wheel usually hangs around when you start up when no internet connection is available on xbox.
XBMC on xbox boots quicker with a live net connection.

people actually think I dont code, when I code 100 times more than any other dev ive seen in years...when I see other emulators with lots of things wanted like background music playing with vids I coded this and every other combo so no questions have ever been asked for it.... and know I could code that in 2 mins and the sources are there anyways it makes me cry for you guys.....
most of the time i see an ansked for features its in coinops and its written by me and modified by me to work properly...eg not just cut out of mame like the rotation and autofire as an example but ground floor written and thought about so no one asked questions about it
its so bad that new people actually believes what others have said....very sad for them as well.....
It so sad now that misinformation has spread so people think wrong stuff is fact.....shame on people that have let this happen...and promoted it...you guys that supported it should applogise to others who now think easy stuff isnt doable and think misinformation is correct....shame on you guys...I know the truth ill no longer be saying the truth and you guys cause new people to not know the truth.....thats shamefull to me....
Most of those features were implimented into other emulators before CoinOps, all you did was copied the ideas/code and inserted it them into CoinOps. You did these things over-night to pretend to new users that you were first. There are lots of users who know you weren't the first, in fact all you did was copied features that people liked. Not so long ago CoinOps never even had Video support from the Rom selection screen, when it was added it performed badly. The video support now still produces bad aspect ratio's. I could go on. All i can do is educate new users who are being blinded by mis-information. You really do live in a little dream world all of your own.

The file size is nice and compact.
I checked out a pack but they are xmv so i couldnt get the needed info.
What audio encoding did you use (bitrate, sample rate).
Havent used the pack on xbox yet.
So cant comment on quality, doesn't CoinOps put an Alpha mask over the video's anyway ?
