  1. Unleashed is a great emu, but the game list only shows 10 games at a time. You can actually have as many games as you like installed on your hard drive and keep hitting down to load a game, but the list won't scroll and show you what it is. I had 20 games installed and just remembered how many times I had to go down the list for certain games.

If this hasn't changed since the last time I used unleashed then it certainly should! It seems like a simple fix to make a fine emulator really really functional.

  2. Thats not my work. Mine were messy but solid and currently in the hands of friends across the country now! If I didn't use my wii for easy emulation I'd be interested in making more. But, been there, done that. There are some nice relatively cheap wii/gamecube adapters available for the retro stuff. If there was MAME for the wii that was worth a damn maybe I'd make a Wii Cab.

  3. Damn. Is that your first controller hack? My first didn't look nearly that good. Now that you've got the db-15 on there you could hack a bunch of SNES, NES, or any old retro controller. I've always just soldered directly to arcade switches and left the xbox controller pcb in a project box. Nice work.

  4. Hi

    I have a question too :)

You write your last beta launch officialy XBOX games ... it is excelent for the Arcade Xbox games :(

But you don't write if when we left the game, like an emulator, we come back to CoinOPs or we must reboot the Xbox like UnleashX ?

    Thanks a lot

    Bye

I think for that to happen you're gonna have to make coinops your main dash. Its not that hard to do. I don't think its something that can be written into a program that launches other xbes.

  5. The only U/T DATA folders I'm sure of are the CoinOps/Arcades (whatever BP worked on). His save folders were mostly babexxxx folders (where x = numerals).

I'm not sure if deleting them is going to help though, its something that plagues lots of CoinOps releases and isn't really a settings thing. This seems to be the big complaint right now so lets see what BP comes up with as a solution. As annoying as it is I only play a couple key games and when I do they're for long stretches so this bug hasn't really bothered me too much. As long as the game starts sooner or later I'm good.

  6. Nobody has said thank you yet for this? Well, thats a shame. I grabbed it and now my Zsnexbox is rock solid. I had stopped using it cuz it started crashing on me and I had no idea why. Now I'm back to a couple of Mario Kart races a day. Thanks for enabling my addiction!

As some may know there was one isolated issue in RX 1.0 where some of the SNES boxart was too large to be displayed in "Zsnexbox".

I have fixed the issue in this pack keeping the SNES Boxarts around: 475 x 347

MMQ - Zsnexbox Boxart fix 6-11-10

    Directions:

    For Zsnexbox:

rename this folder : "Shots 1"

Then put it in your "artwork" folder in Zsnexbox.

Or, simply copy these Boxarts to the "Shots 1" folder

Note: This pack will also work better in Snesx9box

    (allowing for smoother scrolling)

Shout out to Madmab for his advice

  7. Burnout Revenge. Works with d-pad or you could even get a wheel and mount it on your cab. I've done both but ended up using a joystick. Good for lan parties too. Then theres the midway treasures games with the mortal kombats. For fighters I've got the Ultimate DOA and DOA2. Also the nude DOA Extreme Volleyball is fun (for a bit then its loses its appeal pretty fast). Guilty Gear and the Red Star.

I've got the ones you've mentioned plus more but these are the ones people end up playing when they're over.

Oh, and super mario war gets played the most. I'm considering making a cab just themed on that!

  8. It is a shame ScummVM hasn't been updated by someone out there. The sources are there we just need someone willing to compile it. If my Wii can do it why not my Xbox?

Hey Res, any ETA on the sega cd torrent? Or are you working on some other way to distribute things... I've made a ton of room on my hard drive in anticipation for this.

  9. Not sure if these would play in the original machine. They're ISO/MP3 rips. Would probably need 3 times the space if they were all full images :D

I've got what I need to make those ISO/MP3 images work. Would be a great reason to dust off my Pioneer Laseractive or Genesis/SegaCD/32 monstrosity again for those titles I missed.

  10. Oooooh... SegaCD. I read somewhere that the segacd torrent was going to be 36GB. Is that true? I remember when the old eurogamer site was releasing all those complete collections years ago. I got almost all of them, changed the region on the japanese and european discs and burned as many as I could. You can just burn and play sega cd images and put them in a real machine and they play just like originals. Same goes for turbografx 16 cd games as well by the way, but I've never had an actual machine to try them on.

  11. Is there any interest out there in doing an FBA for the wii? For god sakes it REALLY needs it. I understand that the 360 can take everything to the next level because of raw processing power and increased ram, but a usable arcade type emulator for the wii would just be fantastic. I guess you guys would have to have one and really be interested in it yourselves.

All the more reason to get off my ass and find a 360 again.

  12. Right, the fact that it doesn't have a hard drive is why I never messed with it.

You can add an external one then run everything off of that nowadays. Wii games and emulators all run off of usb drives, sd cards, even flash drives (if you find a compatible flash drive).

Fu, if you get a wii you won't be disappointed with playing emulated games. It may only be 420p but they still look great when flipping back and forth from my xbox and wii on my hdtv. Best of all is lightgun support with the wiimotes. What you won't get is a really fantastic gui like with the new madmab updates, or a great multimedia experience like xbmc. WiiMC just came out and is pretty good but still very new. I've got high hopes though.

Back on topic: getting a jtagg-able 360 is nigh impossible. I've been trying. My original 360 died on me and I gave it away, I was upset enough at it to not want to deal with it anymore!

  13. Coinops as a dash would be cool, and very useful to me if you could ftp things back and forth. But it sounds like each game needs to be inserted into the program somehow before its compiled so that seems really impractical for your average user that may want to add in whatever game or program they want.

I was specifically thinking that having a bunch of the new madmab edition emus in an emulator category with video previews for each would be pretty sweet. A homebrew category with their own movies would be most awesome. And before anyone brings up UnleashX, yes I know that it can do just what I'm talking about. I've used it but have never been happy with the results.

If that never happens I'm ok with that. Its just an idea. CoinOps has changed ALOT from your original goal of an emulator and romset that would fit on a standard xbox drive. It sounds like I'll have everything I've ever seriously wanted from this xbox mame thing when I get my hands on coinops x.

  14. ill look into that stuff make that ftp...also CoinOPS now lauches xbox games....default.xbes if setup to do so.......

So... does that mean we can put Xbox games into the game list and have a movie and screenshot? For example; Soul Caliber 2 would be in the list and I could make a movie preview for it. That way we could add newer arcade ports.

Or is this a seperate list in the start menu? I'm thinking about the possibilities...

  15. there are tonnes of ps1 arcade and arcade style games.

    mortal kombat trilogy

MKT was the last really great 2d Mortal Kombat. It runs fairly well and is the only game I use PCSXbox for since its WAY better than all the xmugen mortal kombats and is almost arcade perfect (for a psx game). I seem to get strange sound issues sometimes but I'm blaming that on the copy I've got.

XML saving would be a nice. If the ability to change the values to what the user thinks is best is already available, but you lose those settings every time you restart, then that would be just a big tease, wouldn't it? I feel for ya man.
