  1. There isn't much a site CAN do to get more traffic. It is the people. If they are in an emulating season, they will be here. If not, then, they won't be here. I don't think by adding features and such can you really bring people.

Not being able to request ROMs, or even speak of them, it seems now, truly did kill this forum. I am not saying that it should return, but maybe we could ease up on the idea that it is "blasphemous" to even speak of them. I mean, I am 100% sure that I will be hushed on this.

You run a great forum, GC. But, sometimes, you got to take the hits. Hits that may have come from following the rules.

  2. The controller is salivation-worthy... I am sure the XBOX version will contain different characters other than Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, & Akuma, for the XBOX release of SF: Anniversary Edition. I want one too, Garage... I want one too.

  3. To me, if the PS3 can't pull off PS2 emulation, since it is much different architecture than its lil' bro, it will be worthless. It is almost known that XBOX2 will be backwards compatible with the original XBOX.

PS3 has yet to show me what it needs to conquer XBOX2. No PS & PS2 support on the PS3 = its death.

That's completely opposite of what I've been reading. As Agozer said, Sony is investing time in making sure it has legacy compatibility. However with Microsoft it would be tough to do it since they are now using ATI graphics and it could violate copyright laws if they tried to emulate Nvidia pathways. It also doesn't have a harddrive.

But I like backwards compatibility, lots of people trade in their old systems when they buy new ones but keep the games.

Really? I have heard that the XBOX, though ATI, will have enough juice in it to emulate XBOX games, and the PS3, while capable, is going to have a tough time rendering its old games with the multiple processers...

Oh, and the XBOX2 will have some sort of HD (it is one of their selling points on the original)

Only time will tell, I guess.

  5. I don't really know if I am happy with the advancement of graphics into photorealism; I kinda like my Dreamcast graphics and I would rather play that instead of XBOX 2 graphics... I'd rather feel assured that I am in reality, rather than constantly philosophise if I am really here or there, and if there is an in between... Hehe.

  6. Somehow, in some way, America always seems to do a miracle in the 9th inning...

I hate America as much as the next guy... *caugh*Random*caugh*... but I know its reseliency to even considering defeat. After all of its assasinations, its corruption, its general tainting of good in the world, I am sure as hell sure that they will pull something to get out of this hole, however insanely huge it may be.

If best comes to best, and America does in fact get crippled, it will probably in about 10 years and by then, I will be teaching English in Japan; the only country, that isn't crippled by U.S. dismemberment.

  7. I went to Black Friday-day at BestBuy. I got a RetroCON from Mad Catz for the PS2, (all XBOX) Second Sight, Metal Arms, Max Payne 2, Splinter Cell, Sonic Mega Collection Plus, & ESPN NFL 2K5 for $10 each. So, in all, it cost me $70... and a 2 hour wait in line...

Ahh, the sweet rewards of Capitalism... I am going to play Sonic & Knuckles now...

  8. Family Guy. The appeal of the Simpsons has been waning since I started watching Family Guy. I mean, the Simpsons doesn't go ALL OUT to entertain you as Family Guy does. I have seen almost every episode of Family Guy, yet, if I am about an hour away from the next airing on TV, I still watch it, for it is STILL DAMN HILARIOUS.

  9. What's wrong with Red Faction is that I've never even heard of it.  Are you sure it exists?  This is why people "hype" games.  If no one knows about it, it doesn't matter if it's good.

You are setting yourself up for some devastating examples. KOF, Metal Slug, Jet Set Radio, Samba de Amigo, and so on and so forth. Good games don't need to garner hype. It helps their sales, sure, but they are still, none the less, good games.

Red Faction II is a damn fine FPS. Damn fine. It would be hard to pick between that and Halo. But, with Halo 2, it is a different story. Everything that made Red Faction better seems that have been implemented and improved in Halo 2. So, Red Faction has no ace in the hole to compete with Halo 2.

Is she wearing THAT Princess Leia outfit?

    No. :)

  11. Agreed, Daeval. Agreed. That it is why it is loved so, and that is why Halo 2 is getting the uber hype it is getting.

The question is, though, should it get a 10. If it is mainstream, has fun and above-average gameplay, and never lets on its balance of being simple, yet difficult, and fun-factor, why should it receive a 10? If it doesn't, you won't see me crying bloody murder, though.

  12. I still don't understand the fuss over Halo.  It's a nice FPS, but it's basically the tried and true formula.  It doesn't really introduce anything spectacular and new, and it's not even as complete as some of its competitors (like UT).

I think the fuss comes from that fact that it uses the tried and true formula PERFECTLY. It mastered what it was and thus made it spectacular. I am not a Halo junkie by any means, but I do enjoy the serious for being a perfect, albeit simple, FPS.
