  1. thats pretty cool but kind of cheap. I think pressing buttons would be faster than a thinking person would so that might be a small disadvantage.

Actually, pressing buttons by just thinking about what to do would be quicker than pressing buttons with your fingers. Because when you press a button with your fingers, your brain has to think about what button to push, then the impulse has to travel all the way down to your fingers so you press that button. Doing it with your mind would be much faster.

  2. I think that it's something man was just not meant to know (until we die of course). But I do believe that something inhabits our bodies (call it a soul, or a spirit, or whatever) and that that entity goes somewhere after the body's death, although it may go back into another mortal body (ie reincarnation).

  3. Caddyshack, Blazing Saddles, Animal House, Fierce Creatures, Monty Python's Life of Brian (or Holy Grail), Rat Race, Airplane...

and some ones to check out but that not everyone here would like: Sleeper (an early Woody Allen movie), Kentucky Fried Movie, Dr Strangelove (or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb).

  4. I don't really know if I am happy with the advancement of graphics into photorealism; I kinda like my Dreamcast graphics and I would rather play that instead of XBOX 2 graphics... I'd rather feel assured that I am in reality, rather than constantly philosophise if I am really here or there, and if there is an in between... Hehe.

    Anon.

I was having the same sort of thoughts myself...photorealism is cool and all, but I like how computer-generated graphics look. Plus, we'd have to say goodbye to the infant art-form of machinimia.

  5. English has actually been the unofficial language of trade for centuries longer than America was around (I think anyway). The real reason for the long spread of the English language was that the British were once the dominating empire, and for the British not speaking English was sinonymous to stupidity. You can notice the dregs of that habit which lie in the consciousness of British tourists - if they ask a foreigner something in English and they don't understand, their immediate reaction is to say the same thing in English, just louder and more slowly.
