  1. I've been buying snk games for the playstation consoles since the early Kof days. I own Kof 97 import, Kof 99, Kof 2000/2001, and metal slug x. When my arcades stopped carrying their games and they went out of business, I had to resort to the roms for playing the newer and rarer games. But, I intend to pick up Samurai showdown 5 and kof 2003 even if i have the ROMs when they come out for PS2!! I don't intend to run them out of business!!! True fans will support their favorite companies in all ways :P

  2. I'm a freak too, started with Street Fighter II back in the arcades then on the SNES. Mortal Kombat was the next big thing in arcades and on SNES and Genesis. I also played Killer Instict in arcades and on SNES, bruising my thumb so badly once that I couldn't really move it the next day.

High school was some SF Alpha, SF3 and mostly Tekken 3. My little brother and I battled Bryan Fury vs. King for 8 hours straight once.

First year of college I waited in line for 12 hrs straight on the PS2 launch date and got Tekken Tag as my first PS2 game. There were many multitap battles playing that. I have since stopped playing Tekken because 4 was a piece of crap.

Virtua Fighter 4:Evo is probably the deepest fighting game (new Quest modes is nice) and Soul Calibur 2 a close second. I beat Soul Calibur 2's Weapon Master using Charade for 95% of the time in a week, so that's why I don't consider it as advanced.

My Favorite fighters have to be SNK though. Lastblade 2, Garou: MOtW and the KOF Series (I started playing in 97) are the best fighters. My all time fav fighting game is Capcom vs Snk 2, which is closer to old school than the other Capcom games. It has one of the best rosters too.

  3. Like most of the people here, I'd go with Garou out of that list. It is by far the best recent SNK game of the last few years that outshines most fighting games in general. The cool style and look, good gameplay, new elements like just defend, and many characters related to Fatal Fury and Art of Fighting characters make this game near perfect. I wish all SNK projects were up to this kind of standard.

  4. When I play fighting games on a gamepad, I cover my thumb with the bottom of my shirt. This helps me slide better over the D-pad and slows down the oncoming of blisters. Most people when they first see it think its the weirdest thing. My little brother learned this tick off of me too.

  5. i still think iPod tops the list. The simplicity of it being able to plug and play without much hassle and download files is much better than the other brands wannabes. Just reading posts of people struggling to work their other kinds of MP3 players seems like that kind of hassle is not worth it. My brother got an iPod for Christmas, its pretty nice, I think I want one too!

  6. It's a good game, by the same team that did Matrimilee. It has the same art, good music, engine and Jimmy is in both games. This game is a sequel to the Double Dragon fighting game originally out for the Neo Geo a couple years ago. Like others have said, it has 2 on 2 tag battling, like Marvel vs Capcom, rolling, like KOF, easy comboing, double jump and much more. A good game that has a fresh new feel swaying away from the traditional old school feel of SNK brawlers. Try it out!!!

  7. wow, some of you guys don't seem to know much about games before playing the ROMs of them. the Ash Crimson complaints has been roaring on KOF 2003 forums for quite some time now!! http://kofonline.com has had constant updates for months now. the offical snk site has the prologues for the teams and pics. can't wait to play this, yeah, my arcade sucks too unfortunately so i will have to wait for a real dump to come out. i've heard the ROM is just about finished, just no dumps
