  1. I didn't know there were R4 dealers in the US, had I known that I wouldn't have bought from DX in Hong Kong... oh well. As for SNES emulators, you might want to try SNESDS as well.

  2. Alright, well I guess that answers it then. Since most people seem to be recommending BF2, I guess that's what I'll go with. One other question I forgot to mention previously. Should I get an expansion pack too? I know Armored Fury is the most recent one that everyone plays, so do I need it? Thanks again.

  3. I am looking for a new fps to play. I have MOHAA, but that was made ages ago and I'd like to leave the land of the cheaters. My graphics card has the recommended specs to play BF2, and I've been recommended by a friend of mine (who now plays CoD4) to try BF2 because it was his favorite. But I also know that BF2142 is out there, and I've read mixed reviews on different forums about the two. I think it boils down to play BF2 for a modern feel, and play BF2142 for a futuristic feel. I'd rather stick to modern. But if you think there are any other differences I should know about, or if you think I should play a different FPS (don't suggest CoD4, can't play it), please give me your suggestions. Also keep in mind I'd like to play an FPS with an easy learning curve so I don't spend an hour trying to figure out how to play it lol. Thanks.

  4. When basilbr told me on IRC that we should have an argument about this, I had no idea it could get this deep! Anyways, my arguments at this point are useless, seeing how I have pretty much no knowledge at these levels of the gaming genres. I'd rather learn from BK and others who know what they're talking about then sound like an idiot

  5. @Chibi Kami

And those are all games I have never heard of. But I'm glad to have you and BK on my side - and to add to what BK said, shoot em ups require true skill or extreme luck to master, while quite a few beat em ups simply require button mashing in order to pass some levels.

Also as for COD4 being a shoot em up, you have to define shoot em up.

  6. I don't get depressed very often, and when I do it's for very short periods of time, usually lasting no more than a few hours. When I'm at school I just cope with it, but when I'm at home I'll browse the dumbest websites (sometimes looking online for solutions to my problems) to try to give my mind something else to think about.

  7. Lol Wishdokta (yes I knew it came from you, but didn't want to directly offend you :D)

InfinityDC if you're running Vista try running the AVG instalation file with Admin privileges (right click on the installation file and click Run with Admin Priveleges - I think that's it) - sounds to me like Vista isn't letting the installation run certain files because of restricted priveleges, running the installation file with them should fix the problem.

  8. What I'm gathering from this is that the trojan Backdoor.Subseven is slowing down your computer. This doesn't mean you have to reinstall your whole os, don't know where that came from. Try AVG Antivirus Free Edition (which has already been suggested). It's free, does NOT require registration, and you can have it up and scanning in minutes. It will find the virus, and provide options for dealing with it. You can get rid of it that way, and you don't even have to mess with your OS.

  9. Well BETA means its not complete, so yeah, there are bound to be bugs. I will stick with IE7 untill its offically released...

Same here. And no, IE is not like Windows 95... but I don't want to get into that argument again (and yes I have used FF quite a few times so you can't call me a fanboy). Based off of blogs I have read, not everyone has had pure success with this beta... and that's because it is a beta, of course. I'll be sticking to IE7 as well.
