  1. You do know that it has been a few weeks since this post was made right? Although it's nice that someone finally gives a straight answer and a good warning it might be a little late if he's opened it already.

oh shi- you're right, whoops. Didn't notice

In that case he needs to check his PC for whatever virus is more than likely on there

    [EDIT]

...and why did you attack me? I didn't do anything. Welcome to the forums by the way.

same reason I would attack imps and such in Final Fantasy.... you were easy pickings, and I needed the experience... and my first kill :3

  2. You can open them in Microsoft Office.

Though I'm doubtful that the .xps file related to handheld gaming is the same thing as Microsoft's XML Paper Specification files. t might help if you'd tell us where you got such a file.

while that is true DO NOT UNDER ANY flockING CIRCUMSTANCES open that file if it's claiming it's a ROM. I'm going to assume that you grabbed that file from a p2p file sharing program like limewire. It is NOT the ROM you are looking for, but a malicious file that probably has embedded in it a virus/worm in the form of a VBS script. DO NOT OPEN/RUN THAT FILE. DELETE IMMEDIATELY

  3. okie, there's something I've always wondered for a while now, and since it seemsas though there are quite a few people that proably know MAME back to front, I have a question or two...

ok, so we all know that there are a flockload of different variations of mame. Is there a page somewhere that explains what each one specializes? Is there one that Uses Blargg's NTSC filter at all? That uses proper TV aspect ratio? If not, is there one or a certain config where stretching doesn't do hardware blurring? Thanks ;p

  4. you need extra power to the card

after looking at the card in question, you need to add a 12v molex connector to it. What is that you ask? you see those white connectors that are connected to CD-roms and ATA Hard drives? they look like these:

    molex.jpg

    lol, molex connector

now you will need one of those available. If you don't, you'll have to upgrade your power supply...

Speaking of, you will NEED AT LEAST A 350W power supply in order for it to work, and even then, if you have a lot of drives, you should go for 400-450W, just to be sure. You can find out how much your power supply is rated by looking inside the case and on the power supply itself. It might be on the bottom, so you might have to take it out. if it's < 350, you'll have to shop for a new power supply to feed the power hungry video card. I recommend Antec, because they make good crap power supply wise

anyway, good luck with the upgrade

  5. grab a *nix live CD (ubuntu works well) boot up the CD, when you get a desktop, load up the console, type in "lspci" (without quotes) and give us the results (there should be browsers on the live CD that'll enable you to do that, given your NIC (modem?) is supported, if not, save your results on your HD where it can be easily found and boot back into windows

  6. Hello :3

I'm Reaper man, but I think some people here would better know me by my older nick, bmecoli

I've been in the scene since around 2002 starting at Zophar, and yeah I know back then I was a pain in everyone's ass, but I have gotten better over the years and I'm starting to get respected so yay me. Also thanks to Gamecop for setting up my account, since the captcha was b0rken :)
