  1. Games are still games...

All games are made with money in mind. There are no renegade-socialist-I-want-to-make-a-free-game-for-the-people companies. It's all about profit and how to get it.

LOL dude there are tons of people who make homebrew games, and they arent in it for the money. look at beats of rage...

buuuut, without getting into semantics, this is why i modded my xbox. i refuse to pay for these new POS games. where games used to be about having fun, they are now about hype and marketing, flops and GOTYs. i just dont give a flock anymore.

  2. Don't forget Kakuto Chojin and Tao Feng on the Xbox!

hey flocker, have you ever even plaed kakuto chojin? i own it, and its nowhere near the disaster that xbox bashers like to claim it is. its actually pretty fun. really...... *sob* i TRIED to sell it back! but M$ had already taken it off the shelves, and no game store would touch it with a 10-ft pole! *sob*

as for bad fighting games, i really hate primal rage street fighter 1.

  3. ah, yes... i remember attempting to sell my little brother to obtain that 149.99 for the super nes. i DID have to trade my nes and its 30-some cartridges to finally get it.

and to answer the original question, i'd say that would have cost about $150 in 1992 (seeing as there was no such thing as purchasing used games and systems).

  4. i now have proof that some of you smoke crack.

    super mario world

granted, some of you may not be old enough to remember the initial release of the snes, but i can remember standing in software etc for HOURS playing mario world.

    donkey kong country

i wanted this game to have my babies. so much so that my mom bought me the game for christmas, but i couldnt wait. i rented it and played it at friends houses to completion, and mom ended up returning it.

    super mario 64

i dont think anyone can claim that teir jaws didnt hit the floor when they first saw this game.

    final fantasy vii

i think this one goes without saying. although i must say that i was not one of the losers who cried when aerith died.

dead or alive extreme beach volleyball

this game set a new standard for character modeling... mmm... delicious digital breasteses. even more wowing was that venus bikini, and the amount of time i threw away trying to see christie wear it.

    ikaruga

my last choice may not have that much WOW factor when you look at it, but when you play it you see just how great it really is.

  5. yeah, i realize WHY they do it...

i heard once that michael jackson is good friends with elizabeth taylor, and that his goal is to be glamourous (i.e. look) like her. this would explain a lot. but still, someone needs to get a huge picture of joan rivers and put in on every billboard in LA with the words "attn celebrities: want to look like this? then keep flockin around with your faces."

  6. its very unfortunate that EAs business model is becoming the norm for videogame sales. companies push out re-hash after re-has of games that arent even FUN. i honestly dont understand what people see in their retarded sports games, not to mention the god-awful MoH series.

come to think of it, does EA even have a studio that has ever in their existance produced a fighting game? this should be good for a laugh.

  7. lotr are fine action/adventure movies... but i think that the main reason why people like them so much isnt because they are technically quality films. the nostalgia is what sells them 9 times out of 10, even if people dont realize it. put some fancy schmancy special effects and half-decent acting in a classic story and its almost always a guaranteed hit.

doesnt really make it oscar calibur tho, imo.

  8. why? did you get it to download? ive been trying for the past 3 hours and keep getting this:
