  1. Unfortunately the error 21 doesn't provide much information. Error 21 is basically just a generic error. Here is one description of the error from XBox-Scene:

This error says that the xbox was booted to display an error, someone told the machine to reboot (or launch a xbe x-box executable) with this flag, and the error code just means its been rebooted by it
  2. I think you may be reading something into nothing. The developers should have never assigned an incomplete game a version 1.0 build number. It's also possible that the "Version 1.0" was just in the text and was never changed in the complete final retail build. Meaning it was just stuck in the txt file early. Does anyone here have a copy of the actual initial retail version? That is the only way to tell. Also, you said the text file appeared to be incomplete. It could simply be that they didn't keep up with the text file(s) very well and stuff was left in there that no longer applies. You really have no way of knowing from this what Gamespot actually received.

  3. hows the emulation with the 2 buttons for snes work out for u

It actually has two shoulder buttons plus start/select. So it has six total. But, of course, the SNES control pad has 8 counting start/select. That's still two buttons short. But many SNES games didn't use all those or had primarily useless (or near useless) functions on some of those button. Like Super Mario World where the two shoulder buttons let you shift the screen a little to the side. Really, how many times did anyone use that? So I bet it works fine for most games.

What I'm really hoping is that the PSP will be cracked and allow emulators to run. It's so powerful that it could run quite a few emulators very well. Won't be able to load any games onto those UMD discs of course, but the memory sticks are what will possibly give hackers a way into the system and a way to load homebrew software.

  4. Unless they changed the article or something, the original article linked by the OP clearly says that the current memory cards work just fine. It says you need buy a new multi-tap, not memory card.

The redesign has resulted in memory card ports that are closer to the joypad ports than before. While you'll be able to jam your current DualShocks and memory cards into the new model, you'll have to buy a new Multitap.
  5. and can you tell me what should i do with it, burn it to a cd and load it in the xbox or what? thanks

Well, I've not tried to run it off a CD, but I'm sure it would work. But if you can FTP to your Xbox then it would probably just be quicker to load it as an application off the hard drive. If you want to burn it to a disc the make sure you use a CDRW. The program is pretty small, so you may need to put some filler data on the CD too (just put any file on there to take up space). You will probably also need to make sure sure you burn it in a format that is compatible with XBox. You can use a program like Craxtion to make an XBox compatible ISO to burn to a disc. Do you have any experience burning discs for the XBox? Oh yeah, is your XBox even modded yet? If not, then my idea is out since you need to have it modded before you can even run this program.

  6. I downloaded a fable ISO via a torrent in many rar files. In the middle of the download, the program reported an error message that one of the rar files was damaged. After few seconds, the message disappeared, so I figured out the program solved the problem by itself.

Was the error message in Bittorrent? Sometimes you will see a message that a hash check failed, but Bittorrent should always re-download that piece until it's correct. If it was damaged I'm pretty sure WinRAR would have given you an error too.

So if WinRAR didn't give you an error then I would assume the problem is with your XBox (i.e. like a BIOS compatibility issue), the game itself wasn't packed correctly into the ISO to begin with, or you have a game from the wrong region (i.e. PAL when you need NTSC).

  7. Twisted Metal is one of the main reasons I want a PSP. BTW, any of you Twisted Metal fans ever play Critical Depth? I loved that game. It was made by SingleTrac after they were bought by GT Interactive, but before many of them left to form Incognito (the Sony group that made Twisted Metal: Black).

  8. The main concerns of the PSP is, it will be purely a post system. No original games. Just ports. I bet Sony is like "LETS MAKE PORTS OF POPULAR GAMES AND NOT MAKE ORIGINAL ONES OKIES!"

Maybe, but Nintendo does the exact same thing. Many of the best games for the GBA are NES/SNES ports (i.e all the Mario games). Then you have the Classic/Mini series which is a bunch of NES classics... which are a rip off IMO since they expect you to pay $20 USD for 128 KB games that are 15 years old

So, yeah, I'm sure Sony will make ports, but I doubt they can out port Nintendo :(

  9. Around here we have some stores called Game Xchange. They are just like the name says. Lots of people take old games and sell them there.... thus they are a great place to find old titles. We also have a store called Vintage Stock (which is also in Tulsa, OK) where you can do the same thing. Except Vintage Stock also deals in comics, books, and action figures (Transformers, GI Joe, etc...). Perhaps you have similar stores in your area.

  10. Bad sound (that is to say slightly crackly at times) in the larger games is something that got noticeably worse when the VMM routines were changed in the 08-02-2004 release. If you try the 06-04-2004 version you'll hear that it still occurs only to a lesser degree. A good place to check this is in SvC Chaos on the character select screen. Notice how when you move the selector to each character the 'bleep' that sounds is broken up and crackly, however if you move it back over a character you've already highlighted then it sounds fine.

But mine isn't just "slightly crackly". The sound is very bad. It's constantly crackly and it sounds muffled. Also, the sounds worked fine for this very same ROM in the 8-02 release, so I don't think it's the VMM routines causing this issue. It think it's a bug in djohng's build.

So do you, or you sammaz, or anyone else have this same issue? From what you said sammaz it sounds like you do have the same issue. I want to make sure it's the emulator and not the ROM I have. Start up mslug4nd and check it out.
