Where to start

Hey guys,

 

I have just ordered a super pass key and a GMAMP from this site after looking at some of the other posts in this forum.

I must admit to being a little confused as to how to start with this kit in order to be able to run homebrew code on my DS.

 

From what I understand, I wont need to flash this GBAMP with the new firmware (1.2) as it has already done for me

 

However, do I need to do the whole shorting the SL1 thing in order for the super passkey to have any effect?

 

If so, could someone post a link to a site with a step by step on how to short it properly?

So I can assume that out of the box, this kit will allow me to run homebrew code on the DS?

 

The next thing then is to determine what tools I need to allow me to write code. Is there a set of recommended/necessary libraries and/or a dev environment to enable coding in a Linux OS?

I have too many CF cards due to many years using Canon digial cameras

 

Hopefully one of them will work with the GBAMP.

 

I think the next step is to get the devkitpro downloaded for linux and start hacking away
