It's the biodegradable plastic that's the point, not the flower.

 

As far as that's concerned, this seems awesome, but if it really "degrades into soil when discarded" then people better be real clear what "discarded" means before they buy it.

IMHO If the whole cell doesn't degrade then it's a bad idea...
