The worst that could happen is your console's ID being banned from Live forever. It won't corrupt your firmware or anything else- your machine will still work.
The big draw of the latest update is DivX / Xvid support. Now you don't need to convert to WMV or set up any of those media sharing things like TVversity if you want to play downloaded movies / TV shows.
That, and you can play those files from CD/DVD.

But what I can say is, just because everyone's getting a hang of programming it doesn't mean it's still expensive to develop for (how much is Final Fantasy 13 running on right now? Wasn't it 26 million USD last time I checked?). If anything, if publishers want to turn a profit they either do 1) Multiconsole 2) Make it a Wii project 3) Just do a 360 version.

I named my 360 the "Living Legend" because it survive thefirst ban wave on old non-stealth firmware, and it'll survive any upcoming bans with whatever firmware I decided is good.

Yeah, just get a MAME cab, and if there are any problems, sell the mame cab and worry about finding a real SFIII cabinet then.

It's a very resource demanding codec that allows better compression at lower filesizes.
A video encoded to H264 will probably be half the size of an XviD encoded video with similar settings.

I've only ever burned at 4x (slow drive/discs) but I hear 8x is fine.
Make sure you use top quality media like Verbatim or Maxell. You'll have problems with other media, and if you're using an LG drive, you need to change the bit type or sommat to DVD ROM from whatever it is to start with.
edit: I somehow thought you meant burning, my bad.
For reading, any speed is fine.

They only detect the backups. The bans that you heard about were caused by bad backups that were released on the "scene."
As for tutorials, I'll probably write a short tutorial for the MS25 drive for people who don't want to spend hours reading some other tutorial. This tutorial will assume 2 things though: That you know how to open your 360, and that you're not a computer retard.

The only reason I can think of for why the Wii could be outsold by the PS3 is that everyone in Japan already owns a Wii. (Which is probably true)

I don't think so about the lucid dreaming. Id think you would be able to tell. But who knows. In my dream thread, I spoke of a time, when a girl kissed me in a "dream", the actual sensation of her lips woke me straight up. I was alittle freaked, because the sensation was real. I also mentioned, that once I woke up and felt a great despair, over the fact that I was in a dream. All I can recall, is that I missed her, whoever "she" was. It seemed so real. The world is filled with many things we cannot explain. There are so many unknown Truths. Sometimes reality, is stranger than fiction. Perhaps you were imagining things, or perhaps you are a medium. Hope she comes back.... that would be awesome... just "next" time, go with it. Thats so weird, because I'm not kidding....
I've had a similar dream, I had a dream about this mystery chick and woke up feeling as though this person was actually in my life and I was going to miss her deeply. I think I fell in love with a dream (during the course of the dream), quite a strange sensation, if I do say so myself.
It might be the same thing you're feeling, K', I didn't say anything because it didn't seem like they would be related.
