  1. Well, I put DSEmu into C:\dsemu\, and although it showed a black screen, it still crashes.

When the program crashes.. try to click the link in the box for more information whhere it says "To see what the data error report contains, click here". And copy down the details of the errors here.

Good god! There's a lot of text that it gave me, and it won't let me select it to copy and paste, so I don't know if I can post it all.

  2. I understand that the emulator is still in very very very early in the stages of development, but just so you know, every test rom crashes the emu for me.

Yeh. You'd be surprised, actually; it ONLY runs on my box at home, and nowhere else that I've tested. Why this is, I have no clue; if someone wants to help debug that, I'll be more than happy.

If I knew how to debug it, I would, but I'm virtually computer illiterate.

    So, sorry, I can't.

  3. Because thats not emulation is and hacking an emulator is wrong

How is that not emulation? Is emulation not getting a program on your computer to run like another system would?

As for hacking emulators, that's really up to your own code of morals. Personally, if I made an emulator, and someone hacked it to make it better, I'd congratulate them. Next time I'll just have to make a better one the first time.

There's nothing wrong with correcting other people's mistakes. It's just that people let their pride get in the way (And I do belive that is the situation).

  4. The big question is, odes anyone here know how to code these "plugins" and, does Elsemi feel ok about someone else doing his work?

For the latter question, I think he's not ok with it.

I say, who cares? The guy didn't make the emulator well enough, now someone is gonna fix it for him.

not true. ElSemi did NOT made Nebula open-source for a reason. maybe you just dont like Nebula but that doesnt mean its bullpoo.

I never said it was bullpoo. Anything can be made better, and if someone can make it better, why not?

  5. In reality John Kerry keeps saying he has a plan. Please ignore that he hasn't said what his plan is, other than he has one, or that the only senaters/representatives that actually support it are democrats.

Ugh. Do you even know WHY he two democrats proposed the bill? Because they KNEW it would get shot down, and now there's a better chance that it won't be proposed again, since it has already been voted on.

  6. But would GameCop be in legal jeopardy? http://www.consoleclassix.com/legal.php Distributing roms is illegal. But would GameCop be distributing the roms? No. Why? Becuase he isn't hosting the site who uploaded the roms. He is linking to the distributer, who can be sued. However, GameCop cannot, for he is not distributing the roms. However, I am sure that agenies can request that a link to the distributer can be terminated, or legal action will be filed. Then you can simply delete the link.

And again, searching for roms CAN be hard for those who don't know what to search for.

  7. You're right, it never did have roms. But it did have rom links. That makes it so that the site itself can't be closed. I may be wrong, but can't only the person who hosts the roms e sued? You would only be given a message to take the link down. So there really is no harm to you if you have the link section back up.

Secondly, why have emulators but no roms? So you can only play the bios? Oh, wait, you can't link to those either. Emulation is comprised of two things: The emulator and the emulated. Why have an emulator if there isn't anything to emulate?

Thirdly, yes, all major emulation sites do have that policy. But that makes them all the same and incredibly useless. That's why I first came to 1Emulation, the fact that you could find roms that aren't easy to find.

With nearly every rom request by new people around here, you tell them to search on Google. It isn't that easy. We at least know what to search for. A lot of people don't. If they knew what to search for, they wouldn't be asking for help.

I'm tired of seeing people new to emulation being turned away from an EMULATION site looking for things to EMULATE. It's pointless, it's stupid, it's rediculous. Just putting back the links section would solve many problems for no danger to you (Exept losing affiliates from the "big emulation sites", but who cares?).

And your biggest concern is roms kiddies? There's a reason the site has moderators.
