  1. K I hope you realize that common sense and intelligence isn't a bad thing, right? Like I said before, do some research before you open your mouth.

Symbol markets the best multifunction PDAs in the market if you wish to make a point of it. Have you ever owned a PDA at all?

  2. I agree with K. All my experiences with 1st gen Sony products have been bitter. Especially with my car's CD/MP3 player. I spent $350 for it years ago and it doesn't support ID3 tags, "pops" when playing any MP3 over 128kbps, doesn't support VBR, uses a DOS like file name system. I won't even get into my issues with the 1st gen PS1 and PS2. But once they've got everything worked out in later builds their equipment is of average quality.

  3. Mine isn't damaged at all. I have the Ken controller and my brother has the Chun Li and Akuma Controllers. But his Akuma controller had "bubble" defects about a week after he had his in use. But my Ken controller has held up fine (I've got around 3000 matches online and probably used the SF controller for about 100 of them.) I've heard that the Akuma controller is really rare, possibly due to manufacturing defects.

  4. The pads do work with a PS2 to Xbox converter. I use mine on Capcom Vs. SNK 2 on Live all the time. It's an excellent controller although it seems a bit too thick to me. But the D pad is dead on and you can't beat the 6-button face layout.

  5. A+ certification equals passable salary wheras cisco certifications equate to higher salary levels (in general). A+ is really an easy certification to get though. The hardest part about A+ is learning how to read binary and even that is pretty easy. I would suggest going for an A+ at least (Give CompTia money now... lol).

  6. If you can't figure out why Sammy is putting crappy to medicore fighters within the last year (with a limited roster to boot), it's so they can build a roster for Sammy vs Capcom.

I've got to offer a counterpoint on this remark. It wouldn't make buisness sense to develop and launch several fighters (subpar or not) to build a roster for Sammy vs. Capcom. Most certainly it has cost them several hundreds of thousands of dollars to develop, market, and distribute those games. They do have characters to put in SvsC from their past lineup of games. If they were desperate they could even import characters from their laughable attempt to join the fighting genre back in the day: Survival Arts. I believe Sammy feels they have tapped a niche demographic with Guilty Gear (Which they have, it's a solid title.) and they are producing more fighters to tap that market audience since they have a name for themselves at the moment in the field.

BTW: K, I just read your blog, how do you like your new Athlon64 rig?

  7. AMD for Gaming, P4s for Office work.

I definately agree with that in regards to standard P4s but I was talking about P4EEs (Pentium 4 Extreme Editions). They're pretty much Xeons tweaked for gaming and in most gaming benchmark tests they perform at 125% of what a comparable Athlon64 does. Of course since they are just tweaked Xeons they have the price tag to reflect it. But the one thing I'm trying to take into consideration is how the Athlon will work on 64-bit OSs. My only experience with any 64-bit processor was with an older Itanium based system but I wasn't really able to mess with it enough to see the difference. But seeing as how RedHat operates in 64-bit and Longhorn will be 64-bit I'm really wondering if Athlon64s are worth it overall even if they don't benchmark as well on 32-bit OSs. What's your opinion K?

  8. Cleveland Ohio. u?

I live in Columbus, OH. I actually work for MEI which is MicroCenter's parent company, so I get an employee discount on all my gear there. That is why I shop at MicroCenter so much. Good luck on your purchase. I'm actually building a new system right now too. I'm trying to decide between an Athalon64 and a P4EE.

  9. Yes the motherboard will affect your systems performance. Put the exact same processor on two different motherboards and you will get different benchmarks for the system. It would be in your best interest to research the motherboard benchmark test results for any of the models you are looking at. I would say that your motherboard and your PSU are the two most important components in your PC. A bad board can bottleneck your entire system. And in regards to the PSU, the majority of systems that I have seen suffer irreparable damage are from cheap PSUs which short out and fry the whole system.

BTW: I'm amazed I thought I was the only person who shops at MicroCenter. Do you live in Ohio by chance?

  10. K I think you might have Rumble Fish mistaken for another game...

    THE RUMBLE FISH

This 2D fighting game consists (currently) of 7 playable characters that all have their own individual special arts, skills and super moves.Rumble Fish is a one on one fighting game which involves one person using their mind to manipulate their opponents mind in such a manner that allows them to gain the advantage over his/her opponent/opponent's character. This form of game system is both fun and challenging and keeps you hooked forever. Each character has their very own artistic and original designs, along with personalities and stories behind them too.

For this fast-paced action one-on-one game you will always have to be on your toes, as you never know at what second your opponent will strike!
