  1. also, i just tried a few of those suggestions and yes it goes directly to the cd player.
  2. ill. try all those sggestions, but so far im guessing they will not help considering i burned a copy of sonic shuffle just the other night on the same type of cdr and it had no problems booting. i tried dchakker to load it, but when i hit open on the 1sr_read.bin, it just froze. if anything, im hoping someone can point me in the right direction of how i can properly burn these files.
  3. ok. so apparently the ip.bin not being there is a huge issue. cuz i managed to find the offset number. it was 11702. when it got to the part where i had to hack the 1st_read.bin file, i couldnt cuz it needed the ip.bin for some reason. since the original sa2 disc had the 4 seconds of blank audio on the first track as well, i figured it wouldnt need the binhack so i just forgot about it. went though the rest of the tutorial just fine. burned the disc and all, but when i ran it in the dc this happened: dc logo comes up. fades to white then to dc bios. hit the play icon, no game disc error, just continued to reset and try loading again. kept going on over and over. no luck. any ideas how i can get this to work? im assuming its possible with sa2 considering the original backup was done in a smilar way to mine.
  4. ok. i found a cdrecord tutorial on the dcemulation site. ive been tryng to follow it but am stuck at the very last part of step 3 where it needs the offset numbers. so far i cant find them in cdrecord. this is what it gave me while/after writing the audio track:
  5. big problem though. when i try to build the image of the files, it says the required ip.bin was not found. the game never came with one cuz i didnt find it on the working sa2 selfboot disc i made a while ago.
  6. umm. im not dumb (contrary to popular belief ). i already converted the music to adx files and everything. my main problem is getting the plain files to a working selfboot cd. so far the files ive got are an exact copy from a working burned selfboot sa2 disc.
  7. ok. heres what i did. i got a backed up copy of sa2. i have a few high quality soundtracks for the games. i took a few of the lo quality adx files in the game, and replaced them with high quality counterparts. now my problem is that im stuck with this folder with the cd files and no way to create a self boot disc or at the least a disc that can be read by a boot loader disc.
  8. yeah. i know. i used to have a mess of memorex cd's which were really good. but i ran out. but the staples cd's are pretty much the same. the bottom side is pretty much identical to the memorex cd's. plus these staples cdr's come with the jewel cases so thats a plus. i still havent been able to check it with my headphones to see if maybe its my tv or not. when i get home ill be able to try though.
  9. i dont know. maybe be just my tv. its not crappy persay, just the speakers. problem is those i have my old (but very good) computer speakers directly connected to my cable box (digital) and my DC directly connects to my TV so the only way i can get the good computer speakers working on the DC is to hook them into the heaphone jack and i dont have a patch cord to go from the speakers to tv. but i do have some good headphones and ill use them to check. main reason for this whole mess with the music quality is cuz after playing sa2 and listening to the music in the game, i searched online for the soundtrack and found pretty much the whole set. and the songs i have actually payed attention to (escape from the city & my sweet passion), their soundtrack counterparts are like awesome quality. even though the game versions arent meant to be the exact same, they shouldnt sound like crappy phone quality either. but again, it may be my tv and ill check it to see if im right. sa2 is an echleon rip, i know cuz the intro comes up when loaded. sa1 i dont know.
  10. well, if i remember correctly i used discjuggler for that burn, it wasnt registered so it was burnt at 4x. and it was on 80min, 700MB Staples brand cdr's. so far ive been using staples cdr's for all of my dc burns and so far its been 4x on dj and 8x on nero 5.5. this is the only one having the problem. im gonna try wiping off the cd to see if maybe it was a smudge or something causing it. if that dont help ill try re-burning it.
  11. also, on the subject of sa1 and sa2, is it common for backup games to have problems (freezing up or some really odd glitch) in certain areas? cuz i was playing sa today and got to the icecap area with sonic and when i got to the avalanche section, the camera got stuck in one postion, the timer stopped, and everything else seemed to continue. i pressed A+B+X+Y and it went back to the main menu. so far i havent seen any other spot with this problem.
  12. is the music quality in the DC games normally crappy or is it cuz they were downloaded? cuz ive got SA1 and SA2 and the music in both of those sound really bad compared to the soundtracks.
  13. strange. cuz i tried DC Movie player and it ceased to function. i would start it up, hit Y to swap discs, put in my mp3/wma/mpeg disc and tried to play all 3 formats. wma's worked, but acted as if it was chopped into 1 second peicves and they were overlapping each other. mp3's would not work at all. it would just restart the DC. and mpeg's were the same way. im now using DC playa. not all formats are supported, but ver reliable and nice vis'
  14. mainly mp3's, wma's (wma's not majorly important), and would like to be able to play mpeg movies and divx encoded avi files if posible.
  15. looking for a decent media player for my dc. hopefully one that plays video as well as music. swap disc would be nice, but not completely neccessary. what do you recommend?
