1. Im not big on SLI in general but even more so for 'Later SLI'ing". I highly suggest you go with the ATI card, I myself have owned 1 ATI product in my life, I generally stick to Nvidia, but for its price it is an amazing card.

(I wouldn't let a brand name and 20 dollars stop you from getting a much better card).

And yea rumors of the 9600GT releasing in Feb have been strong lately, in 2 months prices / models can change a lot.

2. If you go 20 dollars over your budget you could get a much, much better card in the ATI 3850.

I know its slightly over your max, but it would destroy what SLI'ed 8500's would do easily and not break your budget by much.

Those cards SLI'ed would have trouble keeping up with the 8600GTS (Well they would fall somewhere between the 8600GT and the GTS), the 3850 rapes the 8600GTS by a long way.

3. Woops, completely missed that, my bad. (Need to pay more attention when viewing the 'Last 8 Posts' feature).

My fav N64 title would have to be Mario Kart 64, the amount of hours me and my friends put into that in 4 way multilayer is huge. Classic Title.

4. There is one game that in my mind has always stood out as the greatest, no it doesn't have mega poly counts, its not even 3D, no voice acting, but theres no game more perfect if you Adventure gamer in the 90's you know you love this classic The Secret Of Monkey Island. Its utter perfection to me then and still is one of the greatest games I have ever played, and still play on a bi-yearly basis.

A closed second is Final Fantasy VIII, being the only real rpg that has 'pulled me into its world', I enjoy many RPG's none have ever managed to do this to the effect that FF8 did.
5. Those min requirements don't make sense, it says DX10.0 lib's is the min DX version but under GFX card it says "DirectX 9.0–compliant card with Shader Model 3.0".

I never judge things off apparent specs needed, everyone was telling me I needed Tri SLI'ed 8800GTX's to get Crysis running, and it run just fine on my setup on ultra high, so im not to worried.

In general console ports always feel gluggy and poorly done.

6. Hey, I have joined recently due to the affiliation of both 1Emu and GE. For those who have not seen me about other emulation sites I serve as a Admin at General Emulation and a Moderator for the PCSX2 section of Emuforums (Ngemu).

Really liking the site so far, seems to house some interesting people with interesting personality's.

7. While I really dislike DOOM, it is without a doubt the most famous FPS Franchise of all time, and thus most likely regarded as 'the best'.

Pretty much the same answer with fighting games. Same reason people pick Street Fighter.

Either that or Mortal Kombat, they are the only two kingpins on the Fighting world. However I agree with you that by being the first 'big' title they are pretty much always regarded as 'The Best'.

8. Jim Carey would not have played the Joker well, from the screen caps I have seen, Ledger portrays the character overtly well. He just looks awesome, just by looks I say he looks better than Jack Nicholson did. Cant wait to see this, im sure he will receive posthumous praise for his role of The Joker.

More importantly though is the fact that a young man has died, we should not be worrying about how it impacts something as stupid as a movie (However good that movie may be). He was a great talent, and was one of Australia's best actors. He will be missed.

9. I just went out and saw Cloverfield a few days ago, while the effects and the movie itself is pretty good, the story feels rather weak at times, the ending is something I think is overtly stupid. Its pretty much Godzilla meets Blair Witch (In terms of how it was shot).

The camera angle can also be disorientating at times.
