Need help with Pelican Tourney Ready stick & Total

I just recieved my Total Control Plus PS to DC converter today in the mail. I plugged in my VMU and controller, and it doesn't work. Supposedly it works with PSX and PS2 controllers and seeing that the Pelican Real Arcade Tournament Ready stick is supported like a PS2 controller, I expected it work. The Red L.E.D. lights up and everything, so I don't know what's going on. I flipped the switch on the side to arcade stick and still no luck. Anyone happen to know what I can do to get the stick working on the converter? Also, what's the power input on the side for? I don't want this 20 bux being wasted on nothing.
