Ive actually deleted the file guys and im trying to get the fresh copy of mamed to accept some roms i have from the pc version - so far its just mind boggling, but ill let you know if i get success, if not ill just ditch the idea and use the pc mame instead with a tv-out card.... WHY o WHY do they make it so damn complex to do the fun things !

I wouldn't say that emulation is complex on any system... Maybe you just missed an important detail.
