  1. Alleged plagiarism? Does anyone care? Let the lawyers decide.

Of course, that's none of our business to decide whether this book plagiarism or not, even we're quite sure about that  Plot, character and location names were slightly changed or totally copied with no mention of "Legend of Zelda".

"Agramont" case didn't make a lot of noise, 'cos "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time" is nearly unknown game here. Official Nintendo representative in Russia, "Novyiy Disk", yet hasn't made any formal declarations, besides one post on Nintendo-Russia forum, where company official said that Nintendo already have been notified about this incident and they need time to make a right decision what to do next.

Suppose Nintendo could get a handle on this matter without us. Don't get me wrong, I love this game, but I'm not an insane Zelda geek, and even didn't participate in creation of this site :P just want to inform you. Thanks.

  2. "Guards for Hyrule" against plagiarism on "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time"

    Copy-pasted from here:

This site is created for struggle against plagiarism on videogame "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (1998)".

Now in Russia there is a big PR-campaign to sale the Valiriya Spirande's book "Agramont" ("Аграмонт", www.agramont.ru), distributed by publishing house "Eksmo"("Эксмо", www.eksmo.ru).Despite of numerous enthusiastic responses and applications of publishing house, and its environment, the book "Agramont" actually represents defective retelling a plot of one of the best videogames in history - "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (1998)" (Nintendo 64). The rights to game entirely belong to Japanese corporation Nintendo (the official representative in Russia - "ND Videogames"(www.nd.ru, www.nintendo.ru)) and to the author of game - to the genius of the game industry, an idol of millions - Shigeru Miyamoto. This event has caused a storm of negative emotions from the "made" population of the country.

Actions of authors and publishers of the book "Agramont" not only are illegal to the attitude to Nintendo and Shigeru Miyamoto, but also offend feelings of the devoted fans of videogames, discredit a name of Russia in opinion of Japan and other countries. We are the "Guards of Hyrule". Here gather those people, for whom reputation of Nintendo and Shigeru Miyamoto is not listless.

OUR PURPOSE IS TO ACHIEVE VALIDITY. OUR ACTIONS ARE NOT DIRECTED AGAINST SOMEONE CONCRETE AND PUBLISHING HOUSE "Eksmo" IN PARTICULAR. WE CONSIDER, THAT PUBLISHING HOUSE "Eksmo" HAS MADE A MISTAKE AND SHOULD CORRECT IT IN THE SHORTEST TERMS. AUTHORS AND PUBLISHERS OF THE BOOK "Agramont" SHOULD MAKE OFFICIAL APOLOGIES FOR THE FACT OF PLAGIARISM TO:

    1) Corporation of Nintendo-Japan

    2) the Author of the game - mister Shigeru Miyamoto

    3) Company "ND Videogames"

    4) Russian devoted videogames and Nintendo fans at the official site of publishing house "Eksmo" (www.eksmo.ru)

WE CONSIDER, THAT "EKSMO" - ONE OF THE BEST PUBLISHING HOUSES in RUSSIA. BUT NOBODY IS SAVED FROM MISTAKES. WE ARE OFFENDED WITH THE DEVELOPED SITUATION. WE SPECIFY TO AUTHORS AND THE PUBLISHER THEIR MISTAKES AND WE DEMAND RESTORATION OF VALIDITY AND APOLOGIES!

    Thank you for your attention!

  3. Just wondering if there any chance avoid "mixing" (dunno know better word for it, 'cause I'm not really familiar with English :) take a look on screenshot) rotated scanlines in vertical games? All is going well with horizontal games: stretched well, scanlines looking good, no "mixing", - but stretching vertical games make it happens. It can be fixed changing "aspect ratio" or "clean stretch" options, but then horizontal games stretched in a wrong way.

PS: Yeah, I know it's working fine in newest MAME, but I'm using MAME 0.106 not official build - MAME32 Plus! Plus!

Here an example of so called "mixing":
