A soul who shares my pain.
I think I know what your going through better than anyone. I'm still trying to figure out how to fix this dilemma.
I truely believe it lies in the CD Media and not the burning software, or burning speed.
Unfortunately no one on this forum knows the answer and my topic which is a few spaces below which deals with this issue has yet to get any replies.
Like I said in my other topic, Bushido Blade 2 suffers from this problem but it has been proven to work using a "ProFormance" disc. The reason why that disc works is still unknown but hopefully I will be able to figure out a solution.

I've recently got very involved in PSX gaming. Now I'm fully using the functions of my PS2. Well, everything seemed perfectly fine until I ran into a few problems with particular games. I've tried dozens of ways to get around them but I ended up with no solution and about 15 coasters.
The problem is with burned games failing to get passed the PS logo screen.
Most of the games I have work but there a few particular ones that don't.
Tales of Destiny II
Spyro the Dragon 2
Lunar SSS
Breath of Fire 2
Bushido Blade 2
I've used mostly Maxell 48x discs and these "natural" brand name discs.
After experimenting with a few techniques I've found out that burning the disc at different speeds, using different programs have nothing to do with these games not reading.
The only reason for I can come up with is the cdr's that are used.
For example, I got bushido blade 2 from the net and burned it. It didn't boot so I thought it was a bad rip. I borrowed Bushido Blade 2 from a friend which was burnt on a "ProFormance" disc and it worked flawlessly. I copied that disc but the same deal happened.
So basically, if anyone knows the solution to this problem...or can recommend a media brand that can run these games, please help.
It would be even better if you personally had gotten any of the above games working yourself.

Whoops, I meant WMV, oh well, so close but whatever.
And I've given up already, if it takes more than posting a topic in a forum it ain't worth it.

I tried the DivX player that was bundled with DivX5.0.3 but it doesn't seem to recognize the wma format.

I downloaded.wma movie and before I can play it a prompt appears from Microsoft asking me to update my DRM components before I am able to play the movie.
I've read a bit about DRM (digital rights management) but what actually happens if I were to update the darn thing?
Im still a bit iffy cuz it seems like a corporate scam to crack down on piraters and such.
Big Time trouble burning some games.....

Just to let you know BOF4 does work but not flawlessly.
I thought it was corrupt beyond the reasonable doubt but if you try you can get the game to work if you reset it a few times. Same thing happens with Tales of Destiny II.
I burned using alcohol at 32x speed using a maxell disc for bof4. It seemed to work great and everything but when you got into battle, it took forever for the characters to accept commands. I then burned it on a "natural" brand disc and it also has some reading problems but the battles run much smoother.
I've gotten ToD 2 disc 1 to work but the others don't using the multiple reset techniques. I haven't tried the Black Memorex Discs, Sony's, HP's or Fujifilms, I'm just to poor and scared to go out and buy a 50pk and not knowing whether it will work or not.
Some times you just want a crazy guy to jump out of the bush and reveal these mysteries.
