  1. Found this over at the official Chankast forums (http://www.emutalk.net/showthread.php?t=20636)

Q: I can't save my progress on any game. It says that there is no memory card or that the memory card does not have enough free blocks even though it's full. Why?

A: You have to create a memory card from the plugins configuration of the emulator; then run the emulator without a CD in the (virtual) drive and format it from the bios.

    hmm..ok i try that..thanks!

  2. You mean live save states in other emulators? I think you can only save normally like you would on the actual system, like at save points.

Well i started playing Sonic today and i remember that the game automatically saves when you complete stages, but it's not doing that. In my VMS manager it says i have 0 available blocks of memory. Do you have to do anything for it to save?

  3. Works fine here... I have a MS sidewinder (one of the authors probably does as well).

The only problem I have is that it maps the analog controls to the d-pad

    which I hate...

My problem is that I can't use the D pad and the analog stick at the same time..for instance in MDK2 you need to press the D pad to throw grenades, enter sniper mode, etc, but it can't be done because the analog stick is in use. I am using the recoil pad that is basically a playstation controller.

  4. Hey, can someone tell me if you can rip the iso off the G D Roms using isobuster or some similar program?  How do you go about doing this?  I want to make isos for the few games i have left after getting rid of my dreamcast a couple years ago (a dumb move on my part).

You can't, thru normal means. You need a crossover cable with the DC ethernet adapter or a Neo-Geo DC modded crossover cable, both absolutly need a dreamcast to do, along with some drivers. But your stuck looking for ISOs (we don't do requests).

I understand that, I know how to find the iso's...I just thought ripping the Iso's would be much faster then downloading them. It's quite nice to be playing Sonic again!! : )

  5. well I've got plenty of space for ISOs et all on my 180Gb and my 80Gb hard drives, but how do I get an ISO? is there a program that rips it from the game disk? I guess there's probably somewhere, possibly, to download some, but no doubt it's illegal and you can't tell me...

Yes, we can't tell you where to get those, since it's against the board rules. However, it's not very hard to find ISOs on P2P or BitTorrent.

Besides, ripping a n image from the Dreamcast GD-ROMs is harder than usual ripping, since normal CD-ROM drives can't read GD-ROMs.
