So that means I have to play with the missing sounds unless I do some stuff to play it in mame, unless that's why m1 needs m1d right beside it.

I didn't monkey with the patches because I didn't think my m1 was the problem. I'll see if I can get the 512k m1 to work with kawaks.

Using the vx2wav program, I extracted all the sound clips from SS5 Special, and to my surprise some of the sounds that were ripped were the very ones that my kawaks wouldn't play (Ones I referred to earlier like the splattering in Rasetsumaru and Suija's overkills) therefore, I'm convinced my sound roms are just fine. Either some other rom or my emulator is what's preventing these sounds from playing.
Actually, does my M1 rom need the patches listed here? The links here are now too old and are down. My m1 is 128k so that might be the problem. Can someone send me these patches?

I'm trying to find voice code to SS5 Special. Anyone manage to find it? I'm intending on ripping them for Mugen projects.

Currently my mame plays all the sounds perfectly, and I have 2 different compilations of MAME, one has a messed up background and the other has no problems at all. Everything sounds like it should.
I personally think different compilations sound different, although it's only a speculation.
Does it include the splattering sounds as well? If so, which 2 versions of Mame are you using?

I can only wonder why these sounds won't play then if the roms are all correct.
As said, it only applies to a few sounds, such as the splattering of the heart in Rasetsumaru's IK or the IK explosion, not to mention the explosion in Haohmaru's IK. Also, as before explained, some of Gedo's voice clips come out staticy, especially in his IK.
Is there anyone here that actually has these perticular sounds playing?
Hold on. My v3 rom has a different CRC than the one specified above. I wonder if this is why the sounds won't play?

It was 128k in size with a CRC of B5ABDA07
Lets see if that second patch fixes it...

I patched my M rom with the crc32 update in this thread, but it didn't really fix anything.

Well, as I said earlier the sound is mostly complete but there are a few sounds that don't play and others that come out real static. The splattering of the heart in Rasetsumaru's OK and Suija's OK doesn't play. Also, the main energy explosion when performing an OK doesn't play. Several of Kusaregedo's voice effects come out real staticy. Explosion in Haohmaru's OK also doesn't play.

Does this mean the crumbled sounds are because of a bad CRC in the m1 or v files?

Hi.
I was able to get all the sound roms, but there's an issue. Some of the higher pitched sounds (such as the splattering in Sujia and Rasetsumaru's overkills) and energy explosion when performing an overkill are missing. Others like in Kusaregedo's overkill crackle when they play. I tried to the m1d patch in this thread and it didn't solve anything. I'm using Kawaks as my emulator. Is there any patch for the m1 rom that can solve these sound issues? Thanks in advance.

Thank you NeoRageXr. This is what was wrong with my m1 file. It didn't include the MVS program chips. This patch made all sounds finally work.
